New shade structure installed! Exciting progress. Both vendors and customers like the new installation. Power install and pavers are next in the schedule. Today, only one or two vendor slots empty and the crowd was good for mid January. Making an already good Farmer's Market better. Kudos to the town OV for the facility upgrades and to Heirloom Family Markets for running a great market.

Heirloom farmer's markets -- Oro ValleyIt's a fun place with a real diversity of vendors. It's a great place to hold a farmer's market, plenty of open area so if you have some kids, can blow off some steam...the bathrooms are clean as well. There's also a museum there with lots of great history. It's called the Steam Pump Ranch. Some of the docents are really a type of living history. One of them was the former mayor in Oro Valley. One of them was in the Tucson rodeo when she was a young cowgirl.... She was in her mid-eighties... "One of them was related to the original family that settled Steam Pump Ranch... I'm sure the museum changed their focus, but it was pretty cool.. Lots of dogs and some of them are quite friendly... They usually have some local group playing. When I was there, it was a kind of country Western bluegrass type band with a lot of style, It seemed like it was a bunch of old friends playing together and just making old timey music. The vendors were friendly and helpful with information about their products... There is a wide variety of fresh products for sale, currently the focus is on the citrus fruit harvest. They have several locations around they have fresh hot food vendors, grocery food vendors,a couple of bakeries, health and wellness vendors, and artisans. It's always fun to enjoy the fresh smells from roasting chili's to pupusas, homemade burritos, and homemade soups! Click on their website through Yelp to get details about vendors and artisans available at each farmers market.

Liberals driving too fast in the dirt parking lot creating dust clouds, double parking, bringing their dogs and being generally annoying. Went at 11:00 and many vendors were already out of goods. It would prolly be okay if we went earlier while the vendors are stocked, and liberals are too lazy to get up early so it will be more peaceful.

The Oro Valley Farmer's Market has a pretty wide selection of vendors that come each week and it truly is a place where you could do all of your grocery shopping (for food and beauty-related items) on a regular basis. They always have fresh dairy, meat, vegetables, fruits, salsas, honey, and baked goods available. I've also found some vendors, like the Alpine Goat Girl, to have really high-quality, handcrafted lotions and balms. You can generally find the same vendors most weeks, so once you find something you like, it is easy to keep up with it. There is also a vendor that has freshly smoked chiles and other veggies, so you can easily make your own smoked salsa. Check them out! Whenever the market is running outside of COVID-19 standards, there are usually food trucks available, so you can really make a whole morning trip out of it. I highly recommend checking this market out, but don't forget to wear your mask right now.

Delightful surprise for a foodie traveling from Portland Oregon. Up in the great Northwest we are blessed with tremendous farms producing lots of produce and meats and have huge farmers markets every day of the week. We are a bit spoiled. But this "little" farmers market rocks. So if you're living in the area or traveling through get on down here and dig in. Just finished off a nice organic hot tamale and purchased some white and blue corn organic tortillas, produce, dried beans, eggs, and grass fed beef.I'm finding a lot of sustainably produced local foods along with eggs, tortillas, dried beans, nuts, canned goods, fruits, coffee, pastries, micro greens, tomatoes, cabbage, brussels sprouts, more more more veggies and so on. Grass fed and organic meats--Wagu, Angus and Kobe beef, really awesome.Come on and meet / chat with the vendors and do ask questions about their sources and best practices. It is good to know WHERE and HOW your food is grown. Also do support the local purveyors providing and farmers producing the most wholesome products they can. Support the SMALL FARMERS--the backbone of our food nation competing against large corporations who care more about the almighty dollar than providing healty food for us!

Well, this was from before Covid was really raging and my hubby and I dropped in during the last 20 minutes. We were happy to see there were still vendors with goods and one super nice dude who roasts veggies had some end of day deals! I left feeling lucky, and with bags of delicious tomatoes onions red peppers and more. There weren't many food to eat vendors, but it could've been because of our timing. I'm planning next weekend to go back and I'll update my review after I peruse the goods. I'll get back soon as I'm wanting to make bake cook preserve ferment some part of summer before it's gone.

Got to the end of it after a hike up Pusch peak. Don't have much left when I got there but I can see the it was pretty big and lively from traces.

Too expensive and too many processed / packaged food vendors that they try to pass off as "homemade." $23 for one salsa that was 50% liquid and a "seafood" Creme that had so little seafood, it was a joke. All the dried vegetables/fruits are mass produced and then packaged to appear "homemade" or small business like.
