I was craving some General Tso's chicken and some noodles, so I tried out the restaurant near where I live and ordered to-go.Disappointed was an understatement. I ordered the lunch special of the General Tso's chicken and it just came with chicken and rice. Most Chinese restaurants will at least put in a couple florets of broccoli, but this had no vegetables at all.I also ordered the Beef Chow Fun and it decent. It was pretty oily, and some of the noodles were undercooked.

Food is ok, it is the McDonalds of Chinese food. They have dining in but you have to stand in line, order from paper menus, and pre-pay. Your food is delivered in disposable containers with plastic utensils. They either refuse to hire any dining room help or are still living in the pandemic era still. I will likely not be back.

I'll say 4.5. It was pretty dang good.OK, things are looking up for the east side. This is only a 13 minute drive from my house, it is in the Safeway plaza on E. Valencia in Rita Ranch. We had the Happy Family: Beef, chicken, char Siu pork, shrimp, scallops, snow peas, water chestnuts, mushrooms, broccoli, bamboo shoots, and zucchini. It said "crab meat" in the description, but there wasn't any. This was really good! The beef and chicken were SO tender, like butter in your mouth. The veggies were cooked right. The char Siu pork tasted old and didn't like it. But you know, just pick it out. This was a great choice. The wonton soup has big won tons. Broth is good, dumplings good. A large is large and can feed four. The pork egg rolls were good. Edible. Yeah, I know, I'm jaded because no one makes as good of egg rolls as Mom. But these were decent. Definitely better than Ba Dars, which were lackluster. It came with a bag of fried wonton strips. Not sure what to do with that. The rice is not the usual small grained rice that doesn't stick. It is maybe a medium grained rice that does stick a little. Definitely prefer it to the usual.Service? Well, I called it in and she said it would be 15 minutes. I get in the car and get there in 13 minutes and it is waiting for me! All hot and ready to go! Yeah, super service. We will eat here again. The beef and chicken makes it so that we want to try their other dishes with those meats in it. And for those times that I don't want to drive 25 minutes to Jun Dynasty.[See my pics of the current menu and pricing.]5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money.4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business.3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it.2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money.1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

The food is trash. I came here because of the yelp reviews, but the noddles were so soggy and the meat tasted so hard from the orange chicken. Very disappointing. The white rice was not fresh and the chicken for teriyaki was rubbery. The photos looked promising, but I guess not. Definitely was a waste of my money $70 down the drain

2nd time ordering from this place and the food is excellent! And they do it super fast!! The ladies that work there are very nice and welcoming, always update you on your order and how much longer it will be. You have the option to dine in, but no one really does. We ate inside the first time and just decided to take it to go from now on. It's almost like they don't expect anyone to eat there. We have gotten the chicken and veggie lowmein. Teriyaki chicken. Broccoli and beef. House fried rice. Egg rolls. And that might be it, everything was great!

The egg drop soup test is an important test to pass in order for me to like a Chinese food restaurant. If the soup has a good flavor and a thicker consistency than just plain broth, you're usually also going to get a good main dish. Happy to say both are true at Happy Wok - a no frills spot where the food is served in styrofoam regardless if you eat in or take out. I ate in and the food came out so fast I wondered if it was not freshly prepared. Glad to say it definitively was and it was as good as the soup! It did come out of the kitchen at just slightly cooler than the surface of the sun, but once it cooled down, I was able to enjoy the nice heat of my kung pao chicken, well appointed with meat and fresh vegetables. Definitely a place to come back to - or for you to try out for the first time.

I ordered the dinner combo Mongolian beef and Chow main beef, both delicious. The food came quickly, didn't have to wait long. The food was very hot, the restaurant was clean and the staff friendly...

The worst service. I had to ask for serving spoons had to ask for two plates. Asked for pan fried noodles got boxed noodles on a plate. The sauces seemed like they were from a bottle or a sauce you buy from the Safeway. The veges undercooked also bagged from Safeway . Weird place. Not happy wok. Im not surprised they make you pay before you eat. I would have returned all the food. Ohhh hahhaa just realized they didn't offer water either. Wow

We went there for lunch today. I have to say that the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. The hot and sour soup was really tasty (that is my test. If the soup is good the food tends to be good) and my Szechuan beef had excellent flavor, was hot, and had plenty of fresh ingredients. It could have been spicier for me but I like insanely spicy food and they have to cook for the average pallet. The service was a little slow but not too bad. If you are looking for ambiance, look elsewhere. The place feels kind of like a cafeteria. The food is served from Styrofoam containers (yes even with dine in) and plastic cutlery. If you know that going in and are more interested in the food quality then you are all set. It's a great lunch spot because of this.
