We love coming to Hacienda Del Sol for breakfast, the staff is amazing and although it keeps sprawling out and they add more and more casitas, it is somehow so well staffed you don't even realize how big it is.

Hacienda Del Sol is proof that you don't have to go all grey, clinical, and trendy to do well. Oh, did they ever do well! Personality, charm, and substance is what my two-night stay was about. The property... oh, the property. What a beaut! I'm from the area, so while I had not ever spent the night, I had certainly visited, and have always thought the environment was beautiful. There's two nice courtyards to choose from--one is more desert-y, and the other, more grassy--both are amazing. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and windy, with grey, cloudy skies, so I could not take full advantage of the grounds. I did spend some time in the beautiful, quaint lobby near the wood-burning fireplace. I booked a Sonoran king room (their newer rooms), and was placed in building K, room 605, with a nice view of the Rincons, desert, city lights, and nice homes nearby. The first thing I noticed was that there was a great attention to detail, not only when it came to interior design, but also functionality. There was a neat little shelf in the entry to put keys and wallets, dresser was located in the large walk-in closet, lamps all were equipped with dimmers, all light switches were located next to bed, charger ports were easy to access from nightstand, room had a ceiling fan and air vents could be set to move on their own automatically. Bed was firm, though very comfortable. TV channel lineup choice was well above-average, but was shocked to see no option to view the bill on the TV, streaming services, or in-theater movies. Wi-fi reception wasn't the greatest. Bathroom was generous, stylish, colorful, and had great-smelling bath products and fluffy towels. Only gripe with bathroom was that the toilet had a weak flush, shower stream was on the weaker side, and hot water could have been hotter. Overall, they really knocked it out of the park with the room.Dining... one of the main things this resort is known for. Yum!!! I ordered room service both nights I was there, and it was always on time and delicious. That salmon and gnocchi dish was to die for. I don't get where the food complaints I was seeing were coming from. Service was satisfactory. Front desk personnel had great knowledge about the facility and were very informative. Check-in area was cramped, though with two small desks the size of a restaurant hostess stand with an agent staffing each one. Needless to say, check-in did get backed-up and lengthy. Staff members encountered while walking through the property seemed happy to be there, and would greet you.I am already looking forward to my next visit.

Came for a small work conference. Great resort, slept well, rooms in the 60-80s with north facing Mountain Views are probably best. Hospitality was great. History (girls boarding school for famous families in the early 20th century showed rich history. Pools are nice but didn't use them in November. A little far away from the city and airport (40 min in traffic). Food was just ok, decent whisky collection but limited wine.

Hacienda del sol is hands down my favorite place to stay in Tucson. The rooms are very comfortable and roomy with a perfect southwestern decor and feel that is so perfectly inviting. The property is beautiful with cactus gardens, garden art, several swimming pools and a great courtyard. Walking around the property at night is rejuvenating on so many levels.

We live In Tucson. Today we had a resort day pass . We bought a spa day package with credit to the restaurant. We were able to enjoy pool, also enjoyed bar service at the pool . The massage I had was amazing! The spa area is next to the hacienda . After be being pampered, we had lunch at the restaurant. The appetizer chips and salsa guacamole was amazing and worth every penny so fresh and delicious.I had the red chili which came with calabazas and cheese and beans and hot flour tortillas. If you come at 3 - 6 happy hour prices on drinks and appetizers. Wonderful place to have a nice break from life and enjoy this beautiful resort and its history.

Stayed for a second time at Hacienda Del Sol. Staff was amazing. Property was gorgeous. And thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Highly recommend this property. If you can stay for more than a few days go for it. You won't regret it. Great value!

This is a review of the Hacienda Grill staff. The staff we interacted with are clearly great people. Welcoming and thoughtful, we learned a ton about Tucson and decided to spend two extra days in the city based on their suggestions and enthusiasm. 5 stars, especially Nick in the restaurant and Blue in the gift shop. Nick does it all, friendly informative and pours wine like a magician. Blue knew the background of all the local items in the gift shop and we ended up with some special souvenirs that feel like part of the city. The restaurant is probably 3.75-4 out of 5 for the price point. The property in general is pretty, there are wild critters hopping around which is great, the food is solid and the three course meal is a decent value relative to the a la carte prices. Good view although not having a balcony facing the sunset is disappointing. The menu has a good range including tasty salvadorian bread, the halibut was delicious. The gift shop is tucked away and a hidden gem. This place is near the base of Mt Lemmon which has great hikes, you can drive to the top, and there's snow in May.

I would not give a 1-star but that is as low as I can go. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. The sheets appeared not to have been changed from the prior guests. We had housekeeping bring us a clean set of sheets, which were not the correct size. They are now bringing us another pair of sheets. The shower is so discolored we decided not to use it. We have 2 dogs with us and this is apparently a "dog" room which has not been adequately cleaned because our dogs are not settling due to sniffing corner to corner. I have never written a review before. This place is disgusting. On a positive note, Miguel, an assistant manager not housekeeping, was very pleasant and changed the sheets himself once the correct size arrived.
