This place is simply magical. It imbues the feeling of hospitality, and it is truly a bed and breakfast as the owners will host & cook amazing food every day when you are there. The hosts really makes this place special. They are incredible cooks. Jeff has worked in fine dining, and he knows his liquor, being a certified tequila specialist as well as 20 years in wine. Neesun has a knack for creating delicious, flavorful dishes, and we were all stuffed every day. Apparently this is one of the first places the missionaries came to, and there's a very palpable special energy throughout the quarters. The place itself feels historic yet comfortable, from the tasteful art pieces thoughtfully placed across the property down to the comfortable beds in every room. Many of us here have slept better here than we have in recent memory. The views are special, and the pool and pool side grill are majestic. It's a truly special location, and we felt honored to have stayed there.

Last day here and I don't want to leave! Nissa and Jeff are gorgeous hosts, like longtime friends inviting you over to their Casa! From the moment you walk through the magical corridor, you are mesmerized by the original art on the walls (painted by the namesake of the Hacienda)...you know there is something alluringly unique about this place! Come to find out it is what compelled Nissa's Mom to buy this magical place! The main house is artistic, inviting and homey chic. Our room was tucked away just enough to still feel apart of this warm hug of a Casa. The huge windows showcase the ridiculously stunning view of their property and just stepping outside you are audience to a melodic concert of birds, cows, bees and other delights galore! Cocktail hour was just perfect, complete with homemade chips, fresh guacamole, yummy wine and engaging conversation. Nissa shared her families story with such love and detail, what a gift! Our breakfast of powdered sugar dusted, artistic fruit ladened Dutch pancakes with thick cut bacon the next morning was ridiculously scrumptious and lovingly made by Nissa, she is extremely multifaceted in her array of talents! As you explore the grounds you are greeted by sweet dogs, free roaming chickens and maybe even a precocious, engaging Princess of a young Lady named Rain! The sparkling pool calls to you, love the whimsical vintage tiles! You are just floating literally as well as from the intoxicating energy you feel as you meander under the "Fairy Pine", spreading her wings of needles with her cones the fairies live in that turn into rose cones that Nissa makes into art you see all around the Casa... it's undeniably ethereal stuff! To my delight, Nissa fit us in on a holiday weekend no less for a sunset horseback ride. Emmanual, the resident cowboy and Ranch guru, is an absolute gem of a human, brotherly vibe from the moment we met him. The ride around the property blew us away, from a mini cattle drive, weaving through trees and brush, then making our way up to a sweet vantage point to catch the sunset. Truly a way to feel even more connected to this Hacienda! The adventure continued with Emmanual the next day when we had a spontaneous roping lessons by the pool and a shared cookout where we were honored by the presence of Nissa, Jeff, Rain and even the pups joined! Flawless experience that I look forward to repeating and most definitely will be back!

To describe this place using words would never do it justice. It's a place that needs to be experienced. Amazing, beautiful, captivating, charming, and enchanting, just can't capture the spirit of this historic picturesque hacienda nestled in the Santa Cruz valley framed by the stunning Santa Rita mountains. No wonder John Wayne and friends hid out here time and again. From the moment you drive through the entrance gate and mosey along the dirt road, passing a few grazing cows and horses, continuing up and down a hill passing the adorable Jeep garden to the house, you know you are about to have an unforgettable experience. Nisa and Jeff are like meeting your long lost family you couldn't possibly have lived without. They have that special gift of creating an inviting place where every guest feels like they are not visiting, but coming home to their very own hacienda, even if just for a few nights. Their love and knowledge of the history of the hacienda, and surrounding area, is evident with their stories of the people that called it home. The one of a kind artwork, murals that cover the courtyard walls done by the famous Mexican artist and bullfighter, Salvador Corona, transport you to another time. The views from the back patio at sunset are breathtaking, especially when you're sipping the delicious wine Nisa and Jeff pour you every night at happy hour. After sunset the stars take over the night sky winking and glimmering at you in a dazzling show of light. And if that's not enough, there is breakfast the next morning. Breakfast alone is worth the trip. The rooms, beautifully furnished with different themes, are cozy and comfortable. We stayed in the John Wayne room where echos of his time here are preserved in photos, books, and western decor. A side patio looks out over the blue water pool inlaid in mosaic tile surrounded by a garden like setting. What a treat to enjoy our morning coffee in the enclosed courtyard where the historic murals, trees, vines, and flowers capture the morning sun while listening to the myriad of chirps and musical trills of the many species of birds who call this home. There are other quiet and lovely patio areas where you can be alone if desired, or shared with a few family members or friends. We could have just stayed at the hacienda the whole time and have been happy, but there is so much to see and do around the scenic Santa Cruz valley you will not be bored. Venture out and take in the historical Tumacacori mission. There is shopping in the nearby artsy town of Tubac, and more shopping in colorful Nogales Mexico. You can plan a day trip through beautiful Patagonia to the spectacular Kartchner Caverns, and follow it with a tour of the Sonoita Elgin wine region. And that's just scratching the surface. With the ambiance, scenery and delicious breakfast, the only thing that puts a damper on the whole experience is the foreboding knowledge that soon you'll have to head back to the outside world. My friends and I have been to many beautiful places around the world, but there is something inherently special about this place. Maybe it's the long history of the hacienda that dates back well into the 1800's, maybe it's the unspoiled scenic beauty of the mountains and surrounding valley, or the owners Nisa and Jeff who pour their heart and soul into this place. Who can say? What we know for sure is, we will be back time and again, just like John Wayne.

Simply awesome weekend at Hacienda Corona! A very special retreat in the desert where it's hard not to feel welcome and at peace. Great rooms, excellent food and the family that runs it are some of the most friendly people I've ever met. I'll be back for sure. Highly recommended!

I hosted a men's retreat at the Hacienda corona, November 2020. All the guys raved about the accommodations, the food, and the love and care provided by Nisa and Jeffery. This will be my base of operations for all retreats going forward. Nisa and Jeffery are super easy to work with and are committed to providing the highest level of service.

In case you ever find yourself near the US/Mexico border in Arizona... this is a great place to stay. It's kind of hard to find but if you have google maps then it should be fine.Wendy takes great care of the place - it's beautiful, clean, and comfortable. I stayed here for a week for a volunteer trip and it seems like it's by far the best option in the area.

If you are in Southern Arizona and you need to find your home away from home and a family to welcome you just as their own.... this is the place! Words can't describe the experience our team had staying here. The property and house and rooms are all gorgeous. We were welcomed with drinks, did some work by the cozy fireplace, then had a homemade dinner (with homemade blueberry pie that a neighbor generously brought over) and our crew even grabbed the guitars in the music room as we settled in for the night. We woke up to the most delicious breakfast and a sunrise that you just can't beat. The owners and their family and staff and (even the dogs!) are all kind, genuine, gracious people who have so many great stories to tell about the property. Stay here! Enjoy!
