Grand Central Clothing

RACIST! Sadly No other way to put this. I accompanied my gf (UofA) student to this clothing store. I casually stayed in the corner as my gf browsed their store. After about 5 minutes a blonde Caucasian student WITH A BLACK BACKPACK asked to try something on, the store associate kindly said yes and showed her to the dressing room. Seconds later my gf asked the same associate who took one look at her, said "yes but you have to leave your backpack here". I witnessed two people who both had backpacks get treated very differently. My girlfriends race was judged by the associate, because she decided right then she wasn't allowed to go into the dressing room with her school back pack, which was right next to the register. The associates demeanor towards us was NOT friendly, as her demeanor to the Caucasian blonde hair college girl was kind and welcoming. There was and is NO DOUBT we were judged due to my gf's skin color. Owner/Manager pull the camera on 2/28/23 at 2:30pm and you will see how we were stopped and the white customers were free to take their bags into the dressing room. I also want to mention the staff had NOOOO idea where to even place the backpack (which had her laptop in it). They were asking each other. As if they don't do this often. If this is store policy you would assume they have a designated area for bags. Not only will be never support this store again, we will let our friends and family know of this horrible treatment. Keep your eye open on how they treat those who look like white college students versus the black or dark skin college students. Sad we have this happening right on the University strip.

I was visiting Tucson recently and walked into this boutique without knowing anything about it. Nicole was very personable and helped me figure out what to wear to my special event. I even bought a couple other things I didn't need because I couldn't help it. I got so many compliments that night!! I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Tucson.

I dropped in while strolling through the U of A strip of shops and dining spots. This store stood out to me since the doors were wide open and I could smell a tasteful scent of a candle. As soon as I walked in a cheerful young lady greeted me. She was quick to introduce herself and ask me if I needed any assistance. She even suggested a few items which I ended up walking out with one of them. She helped me in the dressing room and introduced me to an amazing candle that I walked out with as well. The store has some trendy fashions that a young lady would love to have in her closet. You have to stop in if your in town.

Where do ghosts buy clothes? (see end of review)I love this place! It has a more vast selection than the similar clothing stores in the same area. They all carry very similar items, and it can be overwhelming. I am always impressed with their selection, and the cleanliness of the store. The staff is always friendly but not trying to upsell, which goes a long way with me. I have found truly unique pieces here, and am always satisfied. They also send out great emails, of photos with new products they have in, which I love. The price point is slightly higher than I would wish... but I feel like right on point with similar shops and items. A boo-tique! (c'mon you had to see that one coming)

OMG I absolutely love shopping here!! All three locations are great and it's my favorite boutique of all time!! The girls are always friendly, welcoming and personable. I bought a black envelope skirt from here and it is one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe and I always get so many compliments on it! Divaz/ Grand Central Boutique has the best brands and great quality clothing!

As a U of A alum, we travel to campus from Phoenix annually. Typically it's for a Frog burger and a new Wildcat shirt. Now, it's so I can go to Grand Central and maybe get a burger and new shirt. Grand Central is very impressive boutique! Cute clothes, some right on trend, some more timeless, but all at a great price point. The ladies that work there are so helpful and do a great job guiding you through the store. Some of the styles are geared for college students, but most of the items could be worn by a variety of ages. Don't forget to check out their gorgeous jewelry!

Very cute boutique store downtown. Great experience when I went with my friend the first time. However, I have some mixed feelings toward the store. You are judged and treated based on how you look. I was mostly neglected and an employee was pretty rude when I went in a week later.

I come to grand central literally once a week and every time Nicole is there and she just makes the experience so much better! She keeps me company and is so helpful with finding cute outfits and getting me new sizes when needed. The energy is so positive and makes me want to come back all the time.

I was looking for a dress for wedding and Nicole was super helpful and kind! She made my shopping experience really easy and I ended up walking out with the dress she picked out! Definitely going to come back once there are more events to shop for lol

Bless this store. I work at the University and head down to this area for lunch and to get out of the office often. Owner is awesome, sales staff is helpful--they literally turn in to my personal shoppers there. Prices aren't like the boujee boutiques elsewhere. Always cute stuff--a couple questionable items, but hey--I'm not 19 years old at a size 4 anymore so what can you do :)
