I grew up in New Mexico. I know the cuisine. This is close, but not a fantastic presentation. I've gone into Goyitas a few times, both here and in Oro Valley, and yes there is a difference - Oro is usually better. Service is the first thing you notice. It's just not good. It's not. There have been errors each and every time I've gone in, and even after requesting a correction, you usually finish your meal long before the whatever it was you asked for finally arrives. The wait people just don't care enough to make it better. In fact they act like they are doing you a favor when you point out the problem, whatever it is, and it was usually one they themselves created. The food, well, its just so so. Their red enchiladas are supposed to be 'NM Style', and yeah, they are flat, but the beans and rice served with that dish are just plain old god awful. No, it's not the real deal. And the enchilada sauce is not great. Its okay for spice, but flavor, no, not very good. Honest, its just another super cheapo serving of low quality garbage. It's also pretty expensive. Today a Hamburger, an Enchilada Plate and 2 Rellenos with 2 margaritas was $77.00. That's too much. Last, its noisy as hell in there. The wait people making a large amount of the noise with the ice machine and just talking to each other. Its hollow and echo-ie in there. Go back? Yeah, I probable will, but only because there is no other NM Style food around this area. Not because its great.

We were happy to find this restaurant. We are from New Mexico and have found that most "Mexican" food in the area around Tucson is bland at best. At Goyitas, the chiles have some kick and some flavor. We like both their red chile sauce and their green sauce. The refried beans are good too. Their skinny Margarita is really good--not too sweet, and the drinks are inexpensive compared to other restaurants around. The surroundings are pleasant, although it's in a strange place (the side of an Ashley furniture store). There are plenty of tvs mounted around the bar if you are into the sports bar scene. The service was prompt and friendly.

First time at this restaurant. As a former restaurant owner, I hold the bar very high. This visit was 5 star. I ordered a chili relleno/cheese enchilada combo. Both were absolutely delicious and so much better than any others here in the area. Unique, authentic flavors. My server was Brandi--she was wonderful, everything you want in a waitress--polite, attentive and extremely accommodating. Great job, Brandi. There are at least 3 more Mexican restaurants in the area that will have to up their game to compete with this new arrival,

Grandma is actually cooking, and she makes it SPICY so be prepared. Ask to sample the sauce like it says on the menu. You order it, you're paying for it, and I totally understand. It's New Mexico cuisine - so don't expect typical Tucson food. The restaurant is clean and casual, and the staff is friendly. I didn't like seeing back of the house stuff like the soda syrup boxes, otherwise it's nice. Not a strip mall joint, the lighting is mellow, the plates are actually plates. My husband had the best chile relleno I've ever tasted. I had the potato gorditas and they were fresh and delicious. The rice and beans were seasoned but not hot spicy. Nothing was bland. I wish they waited to bring out our plates at the same time because that's awkward waiting to eat to be polite. It's a small infraction, but the fresh tortillas made up for it. We will definitely go back.

Goyitas is the BEST New Mexican style food in Arizona!! The chile, red and green is authentic and Hot! The restaurant is clean and decorated very nice. The bar has a good selection, the margaritas were excellent! The service was amazing! Our server brought us samples of the red and chile prior to ordering to help us choose the best choice. Our family is from New Mexico and are very picking when it comes to Chile. We have tried all New Mexican style restaurants in Tucson and none came close to Goyitas. If you are looking for authentic New Mexico Chile this place is it!!

First, it's definitely different than the regular Mexican restaurant. The owner seem completely into giving the best service, explaining the different salsa's and the Iron grill steak was cooked perfect. Fork cutting tender. Now that we have a better idea, we're going to take some friends after new years

I was so excited to find this restaurant! I spent many years traveling through New Mexico and fell for New Mexican food. The stuffed sopaipillas were so delicious and the giant sopaipillas for desert are so light and fluffy they melt in your mouth. They also make an amazing virgin margarita for those of us who can't indulge in alcoholic beverages but crave the lime kick of a margarita with dinner. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant!
