Bob is the bomb barman boss man here that luvs up on his customers. He kindly changed the TV to catch the last quarter of Oregon Duck game and nice enough to accommodate a request to change to red sauce on the Paco Blanco Chix saus EVOO pizza..ran back to the owner chef to ask. He obliged ;D so TY both. Bob also makes a mean Sazerac , a $6 upcharge on the rye, but good quality drinks with inventive menus will cost you here, so save up, it's worthy. Ever heard of a beer press? Ingredients to flavor your draft mixed in a French Press. Oh and the house made old fashioned bitters are tell tale cocktail elevaters that really shine.Bob also took time to read over sugar content/Cals on NA drinks in fridge with me, tiny writing and low lighting, he was very understanding and patient in helping to make a selection. The pizza? It's Jaime's from next door but no app or running there needed, the bar takes the order, delivers when ready and has the extra condiments behind the bar to parm red chili flakes or black pepper up your slices. The bottom is crisp and 72-hr cold fermented dough has great flavor as does the sauce which has slight tang and zestiness, and now my go to over Empire Pizza, my previous downtown fave. Got the Gorgonzola bacon salad with house croutons, heirloom tomatoes and for $7 small, it was plenty for both of us pre-pizza. It's large, nice and proper cold, so delicious and had the hubby singing it's praises, we can't wait to try another salad as the quality of ingredients and house made dressing was tops!Good Oak has a dark speakeasy vibe with long velvety drapes to greet you on entry, a photo booth to capture your pre and post giggly highs from what the gorgeous wood bar will provide, along a long counter with wood booths to hide away in and sip the night away. Music is on blast, metal last 2 visits and spooky Halloween decor currently, adds to the mood.Games are stashed behind the fridge and exciting art nights, Sunday spin your own Vinyl, movie projections a-coming on the shared back patio with Jaime's and corner Art Bar give you more reasons to search Good Oak out, if you ever needed one! And there is a Happy Hr with discounted drinks ..ck Insta.

I don't want to be such an overt hater of Good Oak--it has the style and comfort you'd desire from a small cocktail bar. But at the end of the day, they're just too simple to be memorable. Really, these are cocktails for people who don't know much about cocktails. Just about everything on the menu is safe. Too safe. A few classics, and a few originals with like three ingredients. My Sonoran Old Fashioned (Tequila, honey, lemon) was OK but it didn't add any sort of bitters or house-made syrups for pizzazz, nor did it employ an agave spirit with any depth. What a snooze. Same for the admittedly cute drink featuring prickly pear--just straightforward and unimaginative. Nothing really appealed to me, so I went with my personal top-shelf staple--a Hendrick's and tonic. But they didn't even have Hendricks! Guess they were too busy using the limited space for a bunch of whiskeys. Spoiler alert: They don't even have the biggest (or most curated) whiskey list within a couple hundred meters. They used to have a kitchen too, and I wanted to try that, but it looks like they simply gave up on that in favor of outsourcing food to the adjacent pizzeria. I don't mean any disrespect, but there's nothing Good Oak can do that isn't done better by someone else on Congress. A charming and quiet reprieve from an otherwise loud and partygoing district, but if you want to be wowed by premium beverages, just keep walking.

The Good Oak Bar has a good vibe which I really appreciate! You are greeted when you enter and as others have mentioned, it has a "speakeasy" feel. We grabbed a booth and ordered an Old Fashioned and a Hazy IPA. They've got what you're looking for... Whether it's a nice glass of wine, good beer or an excellent cocktail. Bob was our server and was super helpful and nice! Appreciated him! The Old Fashioned was my favorite that I've had! Such a nice smooth drink! We ordered a pizza from next door and that just added to our happy experience. I'm looking forward to my next visit to the Good Oak! They also have a secret menu that has me contemplating trying one of those drinks... Although it would be hard not to get the Old Fashioned again!

One of my favorite bars to hang out downtown. It's dark, moody, with bar seating and booths. There was a menu on the table for Jaime's Pizza next door. The bartender went to your table for your order and was friendly.

Poor service from staff drama behind the scenes seemed to be the resource it seemed. Nice place though but get the drama cleared out

We came here last night (Sat) and waited about 5 minutes for seats at the bar. The booths were all empty. We were able to watch the UA football game on screens over the bar.I tried the Desert Highball and at first wasn't a fan of the aftertaste but by the end the drink grew on me and I liked it. Ben had the Tombstone Summer ale and thought it was good. He wouldn't be able to drink more than 2 of these at a time though because of how much flavor it has.

My husband and I stopped in while on a road trip to visit some friends in the area. While they were working, we decided to explore the local area and found this place. We ordered the Duo of Dips to share and I got a French 75 cocktail. The food was good and the drink was delicious. If you're in the area, I would for sure check out this place. If you are like my husband and I, we love to hop around and try many local places, but if you stay for more food, you can't go wrong.

My friends and I went in here on a Saturday night. Although it was almost closing time the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed whisky and cocktails and a very attentive waiter. We never felt rushed, just well taken care of. Very nice place and the staff were incredible. Great prices too!
