This Mexican diner has only been opened for 2 months but is already gaining a reputation! After reading about them in "This Is Tucson" I had to try. Once inside the brightly painted exterior you enter into a turn of the century bungalow that was likely once a residence. There are three immediate dining areas and the kitchen/counter lies just past the "living room" wall. Staff is super friendly and brimming with recommendations. I visited just after the lunch rush and that likely played to my benefit. I was visibly torn between the 3 enchilada plate and the 3 quesabirria plate (each is $16.50 and includes 2 sides). The cashier kindly asked the chef/owner if I could try a custom combo 2/1 and the chef smiled and nodded yes :)The quesabirria tacos were delicious, with lean tender meat and a balanced amount of cheese. The lone critique is that they had quickly become soft, losing their crispness in the short time from grill to plate. That could easily be my fault as the chef accommodated the customer third item - the shredded beef enchilada for my combo. There was 2x the beef in the similarly-sized enchilada as the quesabirria tacos (but it's not flash fried with cheese either). The red sauce that douses the enchilada is delicious, if a bit sweet(?). I opted for calabacitas (sautéed mixed veggies) and refried beans (rather than simply rice or also whole beans) - I must say, having options like those is wonderfully unique. The calabacitas (diced zucchini, onion, and corn) was delicious. The refried beans were perfect and dipped nicely with the (free) intro bowl of chips/salsa.Parking in their private lot is a little snug but sufficient for now. Bathrooms are modern/quaint, gender specific, and clean. Traditional glass-bottled sodas abound as do agua frescas like jamaica and also horchata. I can't wait to return!

Service here is good; family oriented and friendly. To me the food was plain and nothing that great. The owner gave me three salsas which were tasty, but the meat was overly Just salty with no other flavors. However, my girlfriend who is half Hispanic loved it. Who's to say; come and try it for yourself.

Wonderful 'fairly' new spot in central. Cool authentic Mexican Food vibe with a nice patio and friendly staff. Three crispy tacos and a tostado were fantastic. Foot stomping those beans and rice, not certain if there is bacon fat in those beans, but they were on point! If you like hot sauce (Beyond the standard salsa), you have to request it - worth it, but damn it has a kick! We will definitely be back. Thanks Girls Kitchen!

Wonderful New Mexican restaurant. Located in the former Zeman #2 location. There's plenty of parking in front and back. We were greeted right away and told to sit anywhere. They brought out menus, chips with red and green salsa and took our drink order. The restaurant was clean and bright. I ordered the white menudo and it was delicious. It came with your choice of bread, corn or flour tortillas, lime, onion and cilantro. It was a generous bowl with plenty of hominy and tripe. The tortilla was so flavorful and hot. It was very good. My companions said their dishes were very good especially the rice and beans. It's a family owned restaurant with the mother cooking, the daughter taking orders and running the front counter and her adorable children nearby.

This restaurant is right off of speedway in an older historic home. They have more parking in the back of the building. The restaurant was nice size and had many small tables and a couple larger tables. We had some chimichangas and the red chili one was perfectly crispy and the red chili was very good. The carne asada chimi was ok. The bean burrito was ok as well. You have to pay extra for rice and beans on the plate. So a chimi by itself is $16 a bit pricy for what you receive. Food for three people (two chimis and one bean burro) and two drinks $50+. The service was fast and nice.

This is a cute lil Mom & Pop restaurant. The food is delicious!!! Posole melted in my mouth! The hominy and the pork so tender!!! Baby don't forget the toppings chopped small and plenty to flavor it even more!! Then sop it up with that buttered toast!!!! My carne asada was seasoned just right/not bland but not salty. 100% recommend! Me and my granddaughter will be back!!

Today was our first time going into girls kitchen. It was the best experience that a restaurant can offer. It is super clean, it is beautiful inside, the service was 10 +, and the price was perfect. Now let's get to the food 10 10 10 all around!! Some of the best food that I eating in a long time! I would recommend this to Tucson and I do not understand why it was empty because that is one of the best mom and pop family owned restaurants I feel in Tucson so far! I have been in Tucson all of my life, this one is competition! If you were sleeping on this restaurant then you are losing out. You are able to watch the games, fights, and just enjoy a relaxing experience while you enjoy some of the best food.
