Fishkind, Bakewell, Maltzman, Hunter & Associates Eye Care

Great ophthalmologist, very caring about eye health; sadly i cannot endorse their eye glasses vendor. While I was working in SoCal (but living here) I used to get my prescription glasses in SoCal with Crizal coatings - I still have some where the coatings have lasted years. 3 yrs ago, I purchased news lens & frames ($$$) and the coating started delaminating; surprise, "they" only put a 2 yr warranty on the lenses but are more than happy to sell you ($$$) a new pair.The reason I went with that coating is the advertised life time guarantee.Buyer beware!

I can't say enough. I had an eye infection that only increased in severity throughout the day. I went to a different eye doctor who just prescribed me medication and a specialist who wouldn't have an opening until April. So I called this office; they took me in on an emergency appointment. My wait time was minimal. Dr. Lewis figured it out immediately. By the time I left the visit, I already had relief; but more so just gratitude that he was able to help me to get on the road to recovery.

If you want to wait an hour and never be seen, this is the place for you! Not to mention we arrived to find the appointment I had scheduled 4 months prior for my husband had been given to someone else! Last they will see of us!

UPDATE ON PREVIOUS REVIEWI asked another ophthalmologist about what I was told at Dr "Fishkind''s" (quotes because he hasn't been there in 10 years, but they still trade on his name)I was told that EVERYTHING that Dr Lewis told me was 100% bull crap and just a sales pitch. I really should complain to the AZ Medical Board...that is just not right!! Selling older folks cataract surgery when they don't need it!!SHAME ON THEM!!DON'T GO TO FISHKIND, BAKEWELL, ad nauseum unless you want to pay for and suffer from, things you do not need.COULDN'T BE MORE DISGUSTED...there should be a law against this!!Not to mention that when I declined the surgery Dr Lewis actually called and YELLED AT ME.

I got laser eye surgery with Dr. Bakewell and I couldn't be happier with the result. The actual surgery was fairly short and painless and the results were almost immediate. I went from a -5 and -6 vision to 20/20 in each eye. Its not an exaggeration to say that my quality of life has increased dramatically. Just being able to get up in the night and be able to see without glasses is such a relief. I would highly recommend Dr. Bakewell for laser eye surgery. He really cares about the quality of his work.

Dr. Henry and the front office staff are great, but they should get rid of their optical department. The woman who runs it (at the Oracle location) is hardly ever there and when she is, she is rude and condescending. Luckily, I found a pair of glasses that fit me perfectly and wrote down the name when the woman was not around, who knows where. I looked the frames up online and found them somewhere else for half the price.

What kind of business has a number fall off their address signage and not replace it? Certainly not very customer focused. Makes you wonder what else isn't being addressed.

I have been goi to Fishkind, Bakewell for cataracts and glaucoma treatment. I couldn't ask for a better experience from everyone at this practice. They are very thorough with both exams and treatment.

Dr Sherman has been very proactive in my vision issues that recently included hemorrhaging in my retina and immediately referred me to Retina Associates.

The office practice is poorly managed as evidenced by the overcrowded standing room only waiting room and the long (45 minutes plus) wait times to be called in. Although Dr Maltzman is good at surgery and the surgical center is well run, the follow up is poor. My vision is considerably worse 4-6 weeks after cataract surgery. Very disappointing.
