Fairfield inn & suites Oro Valley Arizona It's in one of the most beautiful areas of Tucson. It's conveniently located from the Highway. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. I was greeted at the front desk by a young person who was so very positive and did their best to make sure I felt welcomed and recognized my membership status. The manager came out and talked to me as well. I also was given a special elite status parking space. It's a newer hotel and everything is in tiptop shape. There are several nearby chain type restaurants that can accommodate a family and some have bars so if you're a single person you can sit and eat. Many have reasonable good tasting take out. Of course the nearby city of Tucson has lots of really good individually and family-owned restaurants with different types of food. It's also very close to Catalina state park, which is a favorite bird watching area for me. It also has a lot of cultural areas that i'm interested in. I'm also a member of the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. It's about forty five minutes away which is not that far. Distances are all relative in the West. But for me I really like this hotel in its location. They also have a hot breakfast. It was typical fare and was hot and plentiful. They had the usual good stuff where you make your own waffles and have sausage scrambled egg and fresh fruit, juice, muffins, bagels and stuff like that. I have to say I was very pleased that the attention the staff made to making sure breakfast food was hot plentiful. I always tip the breakfast person and housekeeping, it's an old school way of thinking and I hope people consider adopting it in these times. The manager was always ready with a suggestion a local restaurant for a reasonable good tasting take out or a bar with a nice sit down area. The rooms were clean and well appointed as well as modern and quiet. I will stay there again this winterin Marchand April. It's fairly close some good breakfast places should you not want to eat breakfast at the hotel. When I registered I had to do so online because I was turning in mileage but after I registered i called directly to the hotel by phone to discuss the type of room I wanted. I find I get better results with the type of room I want.

he reservation was made through a well known company, Priceline. Manager Eric or Erin Sonora or Sonoran stated that such a company,( Priceline), should not be used due to the false advertising and the tricks they use to deceive customers. I believe he is wrong, I have used Priceline many times before and I received excellent services, including Hotel and airfare.Upon arrival to the Hotel main desk we requested a room on the second floor. After all was said and done,we went to the room and found a horrible surprise, the room was very tight, small and without a normal window. Mr. Sonora or Sonoran probably does not conduct inspections of the rooms he offers to customers, more on this below. Such actions speak poorly of his professionalism in the field and his disrespect for the Marriott brand. The view from the window was a dark and dirty wall, at no more than 5 or 6 feet across the way. It was depressing, too late to make changes, according to Maria at the front desk, that was the last room available,(not true). They keep the worst rooms for Priceline, Booking.com, Hotel.com, etc, according to Mr. Sonora. The bed was a King size, slightly slanted towards the Headboard, we had to sleep by the footboard. The mattress was extremely soft, we almost sunk in it, not a good thing for your neck and back. The pillows were so empty that two of them were not enough to level your head to a comfortable position. We were not at a shelter, we paid almost $ 300 dollars for the room. I also included pictures of what appeared to be square ottomans, dirty and full of worn out edges. The view from the window seen on the pictures speaks for itself.

Have stayed here three times now during visits to the area. The staff are friendly, and very gracious and helpful. Our rooms both stays were clean odors-free, and well maintained. On one stay, the A/C was struggling when we first entered the room. Front desk was alerted, and they moved us to a new room immediately. Rooms are quiet, too. The comp breakfast is very extensive, and served in a large sunny room with plenty of tables. Breakfast service is overseen by "Robert" who is a one-man-band w/ extraordinary work ethic and attention to detail. Coffee urn is always full. Pancake batter never runs out. Hot eggs, sausage, etc are always there for the next guest. This has become our go-to place to stay when we visit Oro Valley area.

We were heading to Tennessee and our first night stay was in Oro Valley, Arizona at this Fairfield Inn. We are Marriott members and wanted to stay in a Marriott hotel. I called Bianca and she set us up with a room for the night. When we arrived we were greeted with a wonderful smile and great personality. Mind you it was New Years Eve and this young woman was in the best mood. She gave us a great room on the second floor. Our room was so nice. It had two doors so it was very quiet. I think I bugged Bianca a few times that night asking for things and she always had a smile on her face. Since it was New Years Eve most restaurants and stores were closed. But we did find a Chilies that was still open so we got to finally eat. The entrance to the hotel was very clean and neat. In fact the coffee station and the little market were very clean too. I would totally recommend this hotel for anyone passing through Tucson. Take the side trip to Oro Valley. It is beautiful and lots of restaurants And shopping.

Still good! I was here for three nights last week, and and it was an enjoyable experience. Not much to update other than some minor complaints.Room was satisfactory as it has always been, but there were some minor gripes. I was in 121, and the view wasn't spectacular as it was the entrance/exit to the pool, so very little natural light came in during the day, not a big deal though. The carpeting in the room could benefit from a good run of the carpet steamer; the carpet is much newer than the green, diamond-patterned stuff that the rooms originally had in the 2000s when it was a Holiday Inn Express, but there were obvious high-traffic matting and soiling that need to be addressed. Toilet had a worn flapper, allowing water to slowly escape into the bowl, and the fill valve to activate. Other than those things, room was spotless and seemed well maintained. Plenty of space as well and lots of places to sit. Loved the availability of a kitchenette.Tech in the room was good, but could use improvement. There were plenty of power outlets on lamps, which is good because the wall outlets would not and could not hold a plug. Clock radio does not have Bluetooth, so if you're wanting to play music, you're out of luck. You can Bluetooth your audio to the TV though. And that's the other thing.... the TV.. It has this new system that many hotels apart of the Marriott network have been implementing, and so far for me, it's been mediocre no matter what hotel I've been to. This system appears to try to emulate the smart TV feel and it succeeds with the availability of streaming apps, but it falls short in all other areas. You cannot view your bill or check-out on the TV, there are no in-theaters movies for rent, and the program guide has info that is either: for a different time-zone than what is airing in the hotel, or is completely inaccurate. Not to mention, the fonts are tinier than they should be and my corrective lense prescription is current. I spent most of the time Googling TV listings on my phone, which was a tad frustrating. Is this setup better than the Lodgenet system this hotel, and pretty much every other hotel had when I was kid? I'm not so sure. With some tweaks, it could be.Only other thing to note was housekeeping service. When I checked-in, I was told that rooms are serviced when they're checked-out of, prior to the next guest, and that if I wanted service part-way through my stay, I could be put on a list. Imagine my shock when I return after being out for several hours to the bed being made, carpet vacuumed, and the towels replenished and replaced. That's not a bad thing, but had I known they do actually go ahead and service rooms mid-stay, I wouldn't have left my valuables out. Also, on the day of check-out, housekeeping was knocking on the door at 9:30 when I didn't have to be out until noon. I had to pretty much answer the door in my underwear to tell the maid that check-out wasn't until noon. I get that the hotel was near-filled to capacity, but still...All in all, solid hotel, but like anything, there will be gripes.

It would be unfair to compare this location to a resort. So I am comparing it to other hotel chains such as Double Tree, Courtyard Marriott, and Hampton Inn. Our room was clean - but there had clearly been a water leak from the air conditioner above our room because the ceiling and curtains were stained. I was surprised by this as it wasn't currently leaking but had not been taken care of - it made me wonder about mold. The mattress was not comfortable. The housekeeping is doing a great job - the room was spotless - but as is now normal due to "COVID" housekeeping doesn't work everyday so you will have to request fresh towels. I was impressed the room had a small couch, microwave, and refrigerator. The door didn't seal all the way around so you would very clearly hear the hallway - but the air conditioner has a continuous fan feature that really helped. The front desk was courteous although we didn't require any assistance. The breakfast was standard eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, assorted fruit, and coffee. The food tasted good and seemed fairly fresh. For $150ish a night I think it was a bit much. One additional item I found a bit unnerving - the back exit door had a key slide spot but it was unlocked every time we accessed it - meaning anyone could enter through that entrance. It caused me to wonder if any of the additional exits were locked. I would flip a coin to determine if I would stay here again.

I will say this place is decent for the money. My family stayed here in November and were able to get three rooms all next to one another. The rooms and bathrooms are in heavy need of an upgrade - they are not modernized at all - but the beds are comfortable and the workers / managers are super nice. The pillows however are flat as a pancake so I recommend getting extra upon arrival. There is free breakfast until 9 a.m. which is great but wish it was open at least until 10. The best part of breakfast is the waffles - especially if you have kids. Breakfast overall is mediocre. The pool and hot tub also needs upgraded - the hot tub jets barely work. The view though is phenomenal (see photo).

Good spot if you're in Oro Valley, easy access to al the high-end shopping madness nearby. No-frills what you'd expect from a Fairfield with friendly staff and solid breakfast.Since you're probably already set back several hundy seeing the sights, the free parking and proximity to Valley sights are a value.Mointain views our the back door are worth the price alone, and enjoy the pool in scorching sun or "winter".Not anywhere near the airport, but what is in Tucson? If you're attending a conference atelier Conquistador you can take a shortcut through the field for a nice 10-15 min walk.

I was triple charged for a two-day stay at this hotel, once by Priceline and twice by the hotel totalling almost $900 for a stay that was listed at $236. Stay away from this place. Nobody will help me, and they even admitted I should have been credited. Instead, they charged me again. Awful service and now I have to do deal with my bank. Worst place I have ever stayed!!!!!!!!!!
