My 1-year-old sees Dr. Carolyn Quigley for Pediatrics and she is a gem! She does Family Medicine as well and is a board-certified Lactation Consultant! When I was pregnant, I also saw the Midwives at this same location and I really enjoyed my experience. The wait for labs can be kind of long, but that's likely because there aren't appointments for those (walk-in only), so it's hit or miss.I definitely recommend El Rio Health!

El Rio Health has the worst referral department in town. They don't care about what they screw up all they care about is getting a paycheck. I was supposed to have surgery on January 29. The insurance company says I need a better referral and they're refusing to do it. Stay away from El Rio. They are not the friendly place that they want to portray. They will do nothing for you and it will be hard work just to get a decent referral. the referral department is filled with incompetency. They don't care about patients. All they care about is themselves.

A Nurse practitioner there (cheryl webb) did an abrupt taper on me from Klonopin that I have been on for 10 years. I went into withdrawals quickly. She did not tell me what to expect. When I try to reach her, she was MIA. I called & messaged her numerous times on the phone & the patient portal. She did not get back to me! (I later reported her for patient abandonment.) Overall, I had one horrible experience after another with their practitioners & case managers. Case managers are very disorganized and twice they forget to show up for my appointment. Poor patient care. Patient abandonment. disorganized. Uneducated.

El Rio Health Dental Care provides excellent care. My recent emergency appointment with Dr Amer Zarif to replace a crown was easy to schedule. The reception desk staff is efficient and welcoming. Dr Zarif and his dental assistant were professional and friendly. The clinic is equipped with up to date technology and the view while in the dental chair is calming.

It used to be really good. Now not so much ...... can't seem to get a human on the phone. Last time I couldn't get an OB/gyn appointment for 7 weeks. Called Genesis and was in within a week. This time need bone density scan . Called and got recording to leave message and will get called back. Been a week , nothing!Called again, message....... Left message on portal for appointment. Response was to call! So frustrating! Tomorrow I will try elsewhere. Thanks El Rio on Congress for mediocre service.

This is the worst place to get any kind of medical help. First of all, they will not answer the telephone, no matter how desperately you need help. In my case, they repeatedly hung up on me without even answering "hello". My primary care was an idiot. He told me I was too old "65" to get a colonoscopy! I have behavioral health issues. I was in a crisis and no one would answer the telephone to help me. THEY SUCK!

Here is some information all patients with insurance need to know. I am on United Health Care Duel Complete and getting some dental work. United Health Care gives me 4,500 a year for dental treatment. All plans are different. If you have dental on your plan read below. What they don't share with you!!!!!El Rio has a Billed amount--the amount they will bill for the service. United Health Care - Your insurance company has an Allowed Amount, what they pay for that service through their contract with the provider (El Rio in this case). For instance, (In dental) a root canal (not done at El Rio) and an exam. Billed amount at $1,620. The Bill is sent to United Health Care and the allowed amount for this service is $772. So when you are clear on the Billed and Allowed amount you realize how much further your money will go and how much more dental work you can receive for that year. (The front desk should have a simple pass-out sheet of paper that they hand patients to explain how BILLING works). Even calling El Rio - The above info was not known.BE CLEAR: No one is going to keep a budget for you. That is your responsibility. Going over your allotted amount will also be your responsibility, not theirs. If you go over --- it is out of your pocket. In conclusion, be Smart.KEEP A BUDGET. HAVE A POSITIVE ATTITUDE ANDPatient: How much does it cost to have a tooth pulled? Dentist: $100. Patient: All that for only a few minutes of work? That's expensive. Dentist: Don't worry, I can pull it out slower if you'd like.
