El Molinito

I first ate here when I was in the Air Force back in the late 80's and loved the food. Fast forward to 2024 and I found myself here again. I walked in, looked around, nothing has changed except I think I recall them selling tortillas back in the day. Place isn't beautiful but the food is still delicious. My wife had the Grilled Spicy Chicken and raved about it. I tried it and she was spot on! The dish was delicious! I had a Chili Rellano, a Cheese Enchilada and a side of rice. I eat a lot of Chili Rellanos. It's my go to. I must say this was one of the best I've eaten in years! Margaritas were pretty good too. Hopefully it wont be 35 years before my next visit!

Food was amazing!! It was extremely busy during our visit and service was slow on refills. The ambiance was good; however, some music would have been nice.

We ordered up food for 25 people for a Super Bowl party. We ordered the El Molinito Special from the 22nd St location which includes build your own tacos, mini chimi's, chilaquiles (enchilada casserole), refried beans, rice, guacamole, chips and salsa. They had it all ready in serving dishes when we arrived to pick it up. The food was very good - especially the ground beef - very flavorful. There was plenty of food for the party and even some for folks to take home. They don't skimp when they fill the order ! The price is not bad either at $10.99 / person ! I would definitely recommend El Molinito for any type of catering events or if you have a need for a large amount of food for a party !

Don't give in to the haters - this place is no nonsense old school Mexican food. There are multiple locations in Tucson, but this one is our favorite. From our meager beginnings, we used to eat here - today - combo #5Taco - enchilada - tostada - beansAlways enjoy my little spot here!Delicious!

Tasty and reasonable! Waiter was very knowledgeable and described the dishes very well and pointed out those that were spicy versus those that were mild! The guacamole was delicious!

I went here after work for a meeting with co workers. I have been to other El Molinito's, but never this one. The decor is cute and the restaurant is clean. I got three Carne Asada tacos, and it came with refried beans and most of my co workers got cheese crisps. Hmm I wondered.When my platter arrived it was cubed meat, and it was vey dry. Still not dissuaded, I tasted it...and it was SUPER salty . Ok, maybe if I add the lettuce...or the one tomato quarter....or maybe the...scallion? ((puzzled and disappointed at this point....I just sipped my water). Tucson has SUCH a diverse population, and the different states in Mexico each have deliciously different cuisine. I LOVE the variety and nuances of Mexican dishes in general. All in all....the food was mediocre at best, and it pains me to say that. The next day I asked my team members if their food was good, and they said "we wanted you to form your own opinion, but we all have learned to get cheese crisps...as it is almost impossible to mess that up". Then......it all made sense.

My husband and I went there for lunch when we were sat at the table it took 10 minutes for our server to come and not only that he didn't give us silverware when asked for napkins our server sighed, rolled his and walked away

The service was great, the food was decent, but there were some unwanted critters. It's understandable during monsoons to have them but... it was the amount of them that was... unnerving.

I was here in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, not very busy, and it still took half an hour to get the food.The food itself was very bland tex-mex, hard shell tacos with lots of yellow cheese.l, pretty much just above Taco Bell level.För whatever reason, their lamps are all extremely cool light. Very unpleasant, like a gas station. They should change it.So many better alternatives.
