We visited El Coronado to celebrate my grandpa's 94th birthday, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The service was fantastic--our waitress was incredibly kind and attentive, especially after learning it was my grandpa's special day. Her warmth truly made the evening feel more personal and enjoyable.The atmosphere was clean and welcoming, and while the restaurant wasn't very busy, the wait time for our food was noticeably long. With a party of 11, I understand it can be challenging, but the food came out very sporadically. Some of us had finished eating before others even received their plates, which was disappointing.As for the food, most of it was tasty, but the shrimp enchiladas were lacking sauce and cheese on the inside, which was unexpected. Despite these hiccups, I'd still consider giving El Coronado another try, especially with a smaller group.If I find myself back in town (we drove in from Phoenix), I'd stop by again.

Two words: elote dip. YUM. That and the salsa is what keeps me coming back. The portions are good sized - you're not going to leave hungry. It has a cozy atmosphere, so I like it when I don't necessarily want to look outside while I eat. Very friendly and attentive wait staff. Your water or tea glass won't be empty for long.

This place is a busy hidden gem on the east side. It's a smaller restaurant with great service. Their chips and salsa were very good. The salsa had great spice. I got a shredded beef chimi and it was good. Their refried beans had great flavor too. Staff were friendly and food came out quickly.

How is this place still in service? Food is terrible, bland and overpriced. I ordered the breakfast burrito and it was horrible. My family had the tacos and the ground beef is bland. The prices are insane it's literally tacos from a kit you can get from the grocery store. This was the worst food experience I've had since coming to Tucson lol seriously save your money. They don't serve salsa verde but the waitress said she could give me green enchilada sauce instead lol whaaaaaat? Also I'm pretty sure the waitress was embarrassed because she would not make eye contact and basically placed things on our table and ran away. They charge for sour cream even though the sour cream was the saving grace of the tacos which my husband couldn't even finish. It's always a red flag when that man can't finish his plate.

Located at the intersection of Valencia and Houghton, in an area lacking for restaurants. A favorite of many, not sure why.Ambiance/Cleanliness-with the feel of a hotel bar meets lower level mall Mexican restaurant, the ambiance is severely lacking. It's clean...enough. 3 starsService-Falls down flat...forgotten silverware, having to ask for drink refills, not BAD per se, just below average. 2 starsFood....When good, it's pretty good...slightly above average. The Big Daddy burrito I had yesterday with machaca would have been EXCELLENT, but the tortilla sucked...dry and crumbly....this leads to observation that attention to detail fails. 3 starsIt's not a place I avoid, but one that I don't look forward to.

We've driven by a number of times and finally decided to try it out. Overall it was pretty good. Salsa is very good. Tamale fell apart but had decent flavor. Wife didn't like the chili relleno because the egg was burnt and tasted like the flat top. Chili inside was good though. Wife had a margarita and was happy with it. Waiter was very nice and efficient. I'm sure we'll be back.

Went for taco Tuesday and was pretty decent. They do offer alacarte items which was helpful. My only critique would be that they need some hot salsa. The 2 types they give are for gringos!

Food is just okay. We have gotten multiple instances of delivery with missing items. They don't ever fill their tacos up fully, so it's mostly tortilla with barely any meat. There's better Mexican food in the area.

We were seated and ignored. No one came to offer water or chips until the waitress came approximately 10 min later. The waitress was nice, definitely not attentive, but friendly. The food came and both my wife's and my dinner was akin to what you might expect at a cafeteria. There was no love or care involved in the preparation or presentation of the food. This entire experience was a disappointment. We won't be back.
