$3.25 for a dollop of sour cream seems excessive.

Good food. Great service. Keisha aka Kiki was amazing. Super sweet and really made me feel at ease knowing I was going to have a yummy lunch and a drink before I was to head back home. The shredded beef tacos were really good. Very tender.

Just had another delightful lunch before my flight. It. Was. Packed. But the bartender was friendly and efficient. I have never tried their Sonoran hotdog before, but it's legit and I totally recommend it. It also comes with fries, which I didn't need, but thoroughly enjoyed. I just wish they or someone in the concourse sold tortillas. Think sourdough in SFO, wouldn't that be cool? And yes, I was supposed to bring tortillas along and spaced it. Oops

Ordered the chicken tacos. When they arrived, the chicken filling was very cold. It had never been warmed when prepped. I told the server, and they remade them, but it took a significant amount of time. When ordering, I was asked if I wanted sour cream or guacamole with the tacos. I said yes to sour cream and was surprised to see a $3.25 charge for a dollop of sour cream, which seems excessive.

Many believe that carne seca was first made by a South American tribe that was part of the Inca. Growing up I didn't know about the Inca and their methods, but what I did know about was that my family made their own carne seca. We made many Mexican dishes with it or just ate a piece of meat while we worked hard all day long. I heard El Charro Cafe dries their meat using the "old ways" and has dishes using carne seca. I started it off with their appetizer cheese crisp and roasted green chili, and I ordered their carne seca red enchiladas plate and their taquito (flautas) plate. I wanted to taste their house margarita so I ordered several drinks to try: watermelon margarita, mango margarita, natural margarita, and tamarindo margarita. The appetizer was awesome! It came in a medium size pizza plate that had a thin flour tortilla on it that was toasted perfectly crispy with a Mexican cheese melted. The green chili was mild but had flavor. This is a must order item! All the margaritas arrived and I was not that impressed with the presentation as they came in regular water glasses, and not the round with small stem base glasses I'm used to seeing in other places. I went down the line sampling each drink and the watermelon was probably the best, but they were just average drinks and weak in flavor. So choose something else on the drink section of menu. The carne seca enchiladas were tasty, but I found that the meat was overly salted and they didn't shred the meat finely. Too many big chunks of carne seca. I ate half of the two rolled enchiladas they brought. I give this an it's ok to order, but what would make it better would be to ask for the meat to be small shreds of beef and more (extra red chili). Order it this way and I think it would be a good plate. The flautas were a much better eat. I ate one of the three they brought and the corn shell was crunchy and the inner meat was a finer shred. So I would order this, but again ask for red chili or salsa to dip them in. I sat in the lower area of the restaurant, and this area wasn't being tended to immediately. When I sat there was a table where a group of 8 left and this table was not cleaned and prepped for I say 40 min. Quicker service if you sit on first floor. I enjoyed the old time atmosphere, but was not impressed with the lower level of where I sat. Had that old wood smell that lingered as I ate. Do eat here, but choose wisely on meals and drinks, but do ask for extra chili sauce on your plate.

We love their original beef patty fried tacos. Always consistently good and crispy. My husband likes the three tamale plate. Tamales are always proportional meat or cheese to masa. Salsa is excellent.

We went to a lot of trouble to get to El Charro Cafe. We were a bit early, and had a small dog with us. Whoever says El Charro is pet friendly, I would doubt them. It has to be a service animal, to sit inside or out. Period. So, any waiting around was not going to make any difference. We were hot and tired. We found some shade and then found a server/bartender who offered to handle a take out order for us. This man went out of his way for us, and we really appreciated it. He was so kind. He welcomed us and offered us water while we waited. Our order was one order of Chicken Fajitas and one of Carne Seca. We took it home. The Fajitas were just OK. We were not fond of the Carne Seca. It had a very strange, over salted flavor and a kind of fluffy cut to the meat, shredded extremely fine. Because of that, it was very, very dry. Two flour tortillas each were not enough. We dressed each with the provided sour cream, avocado and pico de gallo, and that was it. Nothing else was positive except that the portions of meats were plentiful, enough for a sandwich, the next day. But, the Carne Seca was inedible, in texture and in flavor. I couldn't eat any of it.Based on the above, I am not sure if we will return.

Stopped at the TUS airport location for breakfast and to wait for our flight home. Chilaquiles Scramble was outstanding and made to order (no frijoles for me). Nice decor and lots of good beverage choices. I would eat here again.
