The food has always been decent but my husband called tonight to place a takeout order and it was as if the girl who answered was drunk or high. She asked him his name 5 times. It's Jeff. Not that hard. Then she asked him if he can be there in 10 minutes. Then asked if he could be there in 5 minutes. Then after wasting all this time said she could take his order. He tried to order a carne asada taco salad. She said they don't have taco salads on the menu. He said it's on the menu on the website. She then asked him to tell her what's in a taco salad. WTH??? He just hung up. Something weird is going on over there. If they're like that on the phone then I'm afraid to eat their food.

Some of the best tacos in Tucson! Every time I come here, they never disappoint! I got the Asada Tacos and Al Pastor. Plus they have an amazing salsa bar

Service was exceptional at this little Mexican restaurant in Avra Valley. When you enter the building, there is a salsa bar off to the left and a bar to the right. You order at the counter and the young gentleman was more than happy to answer all of my questions and to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted as I wanted a spicy sauce on my chicken burrito. He even had me taste the sauce before he added it on my burrito. We also ordered a sausage breakfast burrito with refried beans and cheese. There were a lot of refried beans in it and we really didn't care for the sausage flavor. He was nice enough to print up their menu and prices so that if we were interested in calling ahead to order, we would have all of the information. AWESOME SERVICE!!!I went back a few days later with a friend and there was a different gentleman at the counter and just as nice as the younger one from a few days before. The breakfast burritos were delicious with bacon, egg, cheese and potatoes. The salsa bar was great to spice up the burrito.

Small family owned & run business that also includes a food truck in nearby Picture Rocks. Out in the middle of farms & ranches out past the Marana Regional Airport. Nothing fancy but great Mexican food & a salsa bar that really makes it perfect!!! I started with chips & salsa. I guess the days of free chips & salsa are gone. But it was great outstanding salsa. I ordered the chili rellano plate and was not disappointed. My favorite in Arizona. I've had tacos at their food truck which were the best I've ever had. Between the 2 restaurants I get great choice of inside or outside dining. And OMGosh. The FLAN!!! Too good to describe. My favorite Mexican in Arizona!!

5 stars for convenience and service. People are always kind here and never get my order wrong. I don't particularly care for the rice, but it has been a long time since I've tried it so maybe it's better now! I order from here frequently and wouldn't recommend it to everyone looking for a place with a little bit of something:) it's got a cute, simple bar. Love this place and love these people

So glad we found El Campeon, they are wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Our party of six was made to feel right at home so we could catch up with each other. Food and portions were great and we had alcoholic drinks with our meal. Very accommodating. It's not some expensive, fancy restaurant and we didn't expect that, we had wonderful service.

Good food and service. It is by far the closest restaurant to our house so we have been there several times. We have not been disappointed ever. The building isn't fancy, but it was a general store in the middle of nowhere for 30 years prior to becoming this restaurant.

This is an update....my wife and I brought two guests to El Campeon for lunch! Both were very experienced travelers to Mexico, and they agree that the food is "muy autentico!" I had the beef chimichanga, photo below. Truly authentic Sonoran Mexican food is a rarity near Marana, so please visit this family-owned business and have a nice meal!! (p.s. the salsa bar is still to die for! They will make you fresh pico de gallo upon request). Also, do NOT forget the flan, they have "choco flan!"

While the owners overall are very nice, the food is what gives them this 1 star review. The quality of the food is very inconsistent. We have visited on more than one occasion to try different menu items and after the last 2 visits leaving us unsatisfied, that is why I am leaving this review so no one else wastes their money on this establishment. The rice and beans are always cold. I ordered their birria tacos and the meat was dry, unflavored, and tough to chew. Their corn tortillas become hard within minutes of being served that they are hard to chew. And on multiple occasions have paid over $5 for "homemade" tortilla chips and were served chips from a bag at the grocery store. The quality started off strong but over this past year it has gone down substantially, I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Always good no matter what is ordered. Have had the tacos and the burgers. May be a drive but worth it.
