Dream Dance

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Dream Dance held a class event for the Yelp elites. Overall, the instructors broke down the rhumba, waltz and salsa into basic moves that were easy to learn, follow, enjoy and build off of for future moves. Anyone can learn more about making a move. Check them out. For someone with two left feet, I think I could definitely make the grade! Thanks Dream Dance.

Nice place, covenient location with easy access from Wetmore and 1st Ave. Alan has been a gracious, knowledgeable, and a fun instructor.

This venue has its own events but also hosts various other activities, such as Sunday salsa social dancing - which is the only thing I have come for (and thought was the most fun with the best music and dancers - without having to stay up late). I don't know what the lessons are like here, but my experience in the studio itself was nicer than expected - for a shopping mall storefront studio (rather than a more popularrestaurant or nightclub).

I decided to get my wife a trial pack of the classes here for Christmas in 2020. We got a dance instructor named Taylor Burghard. We both never have danced before so were nervous going into our first class. By the second class we were way more comfortable and by the third we were loving the classes so much we decided to stick with dream dance and her for two choreographed dances for our wedding the following November. She was great in coming up with moves that fitted us and made our dances truly memorable. We were so happy and didn't want to quit we kept with it even after that. We recommend this studio for the overall welcoming feel, comfort, professional grade dancing instructors, and family atmosphere. Most of all we recommend it for our instructor who became more like a friend, Taylor!

Love the Kellars! Was a student back during the Fred Astaire days. Great instructors, very patient, very thorough and well knowlegable. This place was so much fun! A couple of friends and I went to a Bachata night at this studio. I was nervous at first before walking in because I had never taken a class before. WOW! What an experience. Everyone in the class was so nice and welcoming. The class was split into beginner and intermediate and there were a good number of people in both. The environment was warm and invited people to just learn and have fun. The instructers were very nice and helpful. There were clear instructions that were taught at a fair pace. At the end of the class, there was an opportunity for open dance to try out the thigs that you just learned. This was so much fun. I got to meet some friendly people that I later ran into at another dance class. I will definitely keep coming back!

I realized what I was leaving, when I read all the bios on the Dream Dance website tonight. I became so humbled by knowing these things about the DD family. I am really grateful of the people I met and danced with since beginning ballroom dancing at their studio. I only started learning ballroom dancing in July of 2018, as a means for me to use my left shoulder more than usual; in January 2018 I had a total shoulder replacement performed on my left side, and I needed to work continually on my range of motion {ROM). Needless to say I fell in love with ballroom dancing.Misfortune on my pathway made me stumble a little bit over Covid pneumonia in 2021, but by Summer of 2022, I was back on the dancefloor, hauling my oxygen tank in a sling, as I struggled with prolonged symptoms of the disease. It wasn't long before my instructor, Taylor, and I were working on a showcase routine. So glad to be back to dancing, though not as much as I was; I'm just glad I am still alive. My gratitude goes out to everyone at DD for their support, as I progressed.Dream Dance is a source of so many fond memories for me from learning dance to enjoying holiday parties and potlucks with the many faces I knew at DD. I enjoyed the challenge of everything which faced me, especially learning choreography of showcase dance routines. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES !Opportunity arose for me to return to Texas, but first I will be living in Florida a year or two. I look forward to working on my Cuban motion, since, well, I'll be mingling with those from south of Florida. I feel I will be returning to DD, perhaps, with more of a repertoire to use there.Again, my hat's off to the crew at Dream Dance; what started as physical therapy for my shoulder, has turned to a new avenue in life for me to explore. I must say again, thanks for the memories (and all I've been taught).

Dream Dance is an outstanding place to learn ballroom dancing whether one's goals are social or competitive. The owners run a friendly studio where the technique is strong and the dancing is fun. All of their staff members are excellent teachers.One needs neither a partner or experience to get started. Age is no limit.There are beginning group classes on Tuesday nights at 8pm and advanced classes on Mondays at 7:30pm. Adult group classes are $8. The dances rotate.There are junior technique classes on Saturday mornings ($10), which are taught by ballroom champions (plural) who are great with kids.They have Friday night parties, which start with a beginners group lesson from 8-8:30pm. Then the floor opens up for a mix of dances: waltz, foxtrot, tango, east coast swing, west coast swing, cha cha, rumba, night club two-step, and more.They have excellent starter packages for private lessons on their website.The community at the studio couldn't be lovelier than it is. It is fantastic to see people dance for the first time in their lives and make progress so quickly. This studio knows what it is doing and feels connected to its clients.

Taylor is a phenomenal instructor. She was able to assess my wife's and my dancing ability, choreograph our first dance, and get us to ready and looking spectacular for our wedding. Before receiving Taylor's instruction, I had about as much grace and finesse as someone suffering a seizure. With her instruction I was transfigured into someone who might have a fighting chance at America's Got Talent. Its been weeks since the wedding and my mother is still gloating about how all her friends were just amazed and captivated with our first dance.Not only does Taylor deliver good, solid instruction, she delivers the instruction with a great sense of humor and you are therefore guaranteed to not only learn, but laugh and have fun. Taylor you rock!
