Builders are only as good as the crews working at the time. We have two Dr Horton homes built in the early 2000s. Zero problems so far! We love them . Seems like the issues are mostly in homes built around 2020

***READ***I purchased a brand new D. R. Horton home at Saguaro Bloom Mesquite Village in Marana, AZ in 2019. These are the following issues I've had so far.1. They didn't properly bolt down the AC motor in attic and it snapped and blew the motor which needed to be replaced within 1 month of owning.2. Cracked driveway slab 3 times which they tried fixing and it's still cracked and discolored from rest of the slab.3. Replaced all rain gutters because improperly installed and angled.4. Cracks to outside stucco several feet long which they tried fixing a few times and still cracked.5. Multiple cracks to interior walls and ceilings.6. Dysfunctional water drainage when it rains. They placed drainage underground outback and it changed nothing.7. Cracked tiles in kitchen and bathroom which they replaced twice and yet they continue to crack.8. Repainted my house because of all the patch jobs they made to stucco.***A law firm is now filing a class action lawsuit against D. R. Horton because the soil these homes were built on was not properly excavated or leveled and now whenever it rains, the soil soaks up the water like a sponge and it shift the entire foundation slab. This shifting is lifting the floors and ceiling, and load bearing walls causing severe compromise to the entire integrity of the foundation. Eventually, the walls and ceilings will come crashing down. I have informed D. R. Horton multiple times and they refuse to come out to assess or fix issues. I'm hoping the law firm will bankrupt D. R. Horton because he does NOT know how to build homes. The local and state agencies here in Marana, AZ should also be sued because there is absolutely no oversight when it comes to building homes here.***

Terrible quality. We've had problem after problem since we moved in almost 6 years ago. An electrical wire literally melted because a junction box was not installed. Our primary bathroom had a leak in the attic and we didn't have any indication until the ceiling fell in. We pulled the granite "backsplash" off to install a tile back splash and the granite is 1/4" away from the wall. We also have a stack of our original work orders that they never filled. I would highly recommend you NEVER purchase a DR Horton home.

Is a negative number available? Do not buy a DR Horton home! I have been trying to get my roof fixed for over a year and one half. The inspection report of builder errors is 68 pages long with pictures.

I bought my house over a year ago. my trust are all broken and damage, my roof is sinking in, all my walls have water damag. They refuse to do anything to fix it. I have made a formal complaint with the ROC. In my opinion do not buy from DR Horton they do not care about you. They will not fix your house and you will regret your choice. it's not worth it.

I bought a house with D.R Horton in Vail. It's a nice house, but they put them together to fast. Poor craftsmanship. I have had a lot of things needing to be fixed. Trying to get the tradesman out here to do their job is ridiculous. Even with an appointment they either don't show up or when they do, they do t have what is needed for the job. So I am missing work for nothing. They WILL NOT get anyone out on the weekends to accommodate your schedule no matter what, but they have no problem wasting my time and money. I pay a lot of money for a house that should be completed properly to begin with. Customer service is dead with this company. If you want to live a forever broken house? Buy with D. R. Horton!! Yay
