Douglas Public Library

The Library is very welcoming. The layout is very efficient to find everything that you need. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well.

My happy place is here! Friendly staff, FREE INTERNET and a wide view to 10th street to look around is all I need to have a productive day! If I could just have snacks and iced tea it would be even better than home...almost! Yes it is small....but is a small town. what do you expect.... My glass is half full - oh wait! I'm not l to have glasses in here...right?

The Douglas library is in a newer building in the middle of an old town. The library is not large by any measure and the selection on-hand is not terribly impressive. You can however order titles from the other branches for pickup in Douglas. They have a decent selection of DVD and VHS films both fiction and non-fiction to choose from as well as audiobooks and compact discs.The location is convenient, the staff is knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. They have free WIFI and about 10 computer stations for your internet use and even a few Spanish computer stations for Spanish speakers. While the selection is not huge, it is made up for by the inter-library loan system. Douglas library deserves a look, it's a great place to escape the summer heat and find yourself in a book.
