So I had wrote a review from my first and second time visit. The 3rd time it was a little better. Yes, the lady can be a little uinpredictable and I feel sometimes you have to walk on eggshell around her. But she does have a good variety of food and treats and she does a good job on the nail trimming. I have never used the grooming service besides paw trimming.Great for vaccination on Sundays. No hour of wait like HSAZ and it's cooler inside.

They have great dog food here. The woman that owns it is a little gruff and I don't recommend them for grooming. She got really impatient with my dog when she was trimming her toenails and I never took her back. But they carry excellent healthy dog food and supplements. I am very picky about what I feed my dog and was happy to find that they carry the brand I feed her. It's great to save a trip to Tucson too! :)

We visited this place a few years ago to check out the food . We asked questions and received grouchy answers. We left and never have been back. I don't know how she is able to stay in business.

I'm downgrading my review, especially the part about "keeping up on the industry" because she either withheld or just didn't know (highly unlikely?) that TOTW was bought out by Diamond Foods! A rather huge omission. Especially given that I went to her specifically over concerns about changes in quality I had noticed in TOTW on my shipments and planned to switch to something else and wanted her advice on something else, but she insisted nothing had changed. Even if the quality hadn't changed she should have told me. Also her mark up on this food is huge and I overpaid for it because of her pitch about keeping it fresher in temp controlled room. Sure maybe. But I changed her food anyway. Additionally, I wish she had advised me to stop feeding Lucy lamb now that she is a senior dog and less active. The whole "dog food expert" badge just went out the window for me and given all the grooming compaints I've heard, my review needed an update.

Don't even think about good customer service here. The owner sold me a collar knowing that I could get a free replacement from the company. Less than five minutes after I bought the collar, having talked to the company directly, I asked to return it. She refused to cancel the credit transaction and "offered" in store credit less a 12% restock fee!Who needs merchants like that!

Like the others said, the owner is grumpy and rude. I don't care if she carried the best food ever, if someone is rude (bordering on MEAN), I will not go there. I am not giving my money to someone who acts like she is annoyed by me coming in the door. I did not have my dog groomed there, but I heard 2 bad stories, which is enough for me to never take the risk of my dog being injured.

My husband was late picking up our dog after being groomed(but still during business hours) and they charged us and extra $20. They said we were "day boarding". An extra $20 for two hours is ridiculous! To top it off the groom was not that great either. This was the first and last time we will ever use The Dog House in Green Valley.

The owner of The Dog House, Debra Porterfield is a train wreck! She is pushy, nasty, impatient and extremely unprofessional. She refused to "groom" my dog because he was "too matted", however, my 11 year-old daughter was able to do an amazing job in less than one hour. Ok, so no more grooming. Since I participate in the vaccination clinic (Animal Fair) that takes place in this shop every three weeks, I have no choice but to see her. Today, when I attempted to purchase dog food and obtain a "credit" from her for an unuseable, previously purchased dog coat, she became irrate and nasty because I "didn't have a receipt." Being that she is the only employee and knows that I purchased and paid for the coat, you would think this would not have been an issue. Instead, she was screaming in my face and completely obnoxious in front of all the customers present in the store. Needless to say, I left without a dog coat, a credit and dog food!! There are so many other better places to take your pet, as well as to purchase pet food. Don't support this business in any way!!! I recommend Teresa Rodriguez (520-603-4933) for grooming. Not only does she do an excellent job, she is a very nice person who appreciates your business. Life is too short to deal with rude business owners such as Debra Porterfield.
