Devon Gables

People need to look past not having a fancy chandelier in the entry, and look past the older facility, and see the amazing staff and high level of care offered at Devon Gables. Hand down the best in care with long term staff, with a very high staff to patient ratio. They can handle most any patients needs, especially as patients needs grow. The facility is older, but maintained and not dirty in any way. The rooms are large, and some with patios to the outside. We are happy with our decision to place our loved one there, and hope this helps anyone with such a tuff decision.

A Friend who had knee surgery is there. The nurse gave his meds to another patient so he got zero pain meds till this morning. they have made multiple time NOT read hid chart so hope the nurse is sanctioned or fired. Been reported to ADHS and AZBN. Not smart to mess up on an RN(former nursing director) before this. I DO NOT reccommend this place.

Devon Gables is a great place for many of its residents. They offer everything from independent living, assisted living to secured memory care. They are also the only facility in Southern Arizona that still allows smoking (at certain times throughout the day). The cafeteria has good food to accommodate most palates and nutrition guidelines. The activities director is great and upbeat as are the activity assistants. They always have something going on. The only thing that I dislike would be that there are televisions on nearly every unit so you will find people planted to their chairs zoned out watching TV. The nursing and other clinical staff are pretty amazing, especially the ones on their secured units. They also have a great

My grandmother was here a couple times, not by our choice but due to insurance reasons. First couple experiences were okay, but the last was just an absolute nightmare. My grandmother fell at night and we did not find out until she told us the next morning. She was disoriented and bruised, staff had no knowledge or clue of who her night time nurse was. At the time my grandmother was not in the condition to be getting up on her own so someone had to have helped her back in be, and yet no one knew anything. Nurses wouldn't come even when we were there asking them for help, she was in terrible pain from her UTI. We ended up calling 911 to get her help. Avoid at all costs.

My husband received excellent care during his stay. Don't judge the appearance of the building, it's an old building yet the staff is exceptional. Paul, one of the therapists motivated my husband to exercise.

A relative who is both physically and behaviorally challenged was a patient there. The staff went out of their way to meet his needs. It was easy to communicate with them and with the admin folks. He had some special room requests and they found a way to work it out. They were very patient with a person who was demanding and impatient. He would have liked more vegetarian choices and they worked around that as best they could.I was more than pleasantly surprised with this facility since it's the first time he was in a skilled nursing facility.

Stay away from this horrible house of horrors. Lack of care by staff. No one takes responsibility. Facility lacks proper accountability by any senior staffing or leadership. Residents lay for unlimited time with no staff responding to their needs. The food served isn't fit for an animal. I'm the past it's been made aware of residents passing away during being cared by this facility. There is always and excuse when addressing the lacking of care. All this facility is concerned about is that they don't get a bad mark with the state of Arizona and lose their funding. Documents are adjusted to the favor of Devon and never a resident. So sad that this facility doesn't step it up and clean up their care!

My sister was at this facility and passed away on 6/2/19 a week before her next birthday. This facility did not provide the hospice care required for someone who was not able to care for themselves. I don't feel they provided much care or attention at all, and I feel my sister was physically abused here as well. She was always kept isolated in a room by herself and probably frightened most of the time. When I traveled to see family in Tucson I would stop in to see my sister and was always given some excuse. She is with a doctor now, or its outside of visiting hours, I have never been so frustrated with a health care facility. Do not have any of your relatives taken in by this facility, you may never see them again like our family did. I don't recommend this facility to anyone needing care, stay away!!! Keep searching and if financial issues are a problem keep searching you will get the proper help you need. If I could give you zero stars I would but this system won't allow it!

A volunteer care worker put me on hold for 28 minutes when she came back she referred to my mom is that old woman and then she put me on hold again to get my phone number because she lost her pencil and paper I left numerous messages for them until I had to give verbal I would not recommend this place to anybody

My mom has been there for almost a year now and I'm so happy with her progress at Devon Gables. The staff has helped her get her independence back after having many falls at home and other major health issues and I am so grateful for them. The staff are extremely professional, the facility is kept spotless and there is no "nursing home" smell. The food has improved greatly since she moved there. I am very impressed with Devon Gables and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of long term care, assisted living, and rehabilitation services.
