I got TOTALLY SWINDLED by Bob Hitchcock for over $2000!!I encourage everyone to read the other YELP reviews. I wish I had. Obviously several people have had the same experience. Very out dated and primitive business practices.Very poorly posed - mediocre pictures.Unrealistic Fees.I hired Bob Hitchcock to take photos of my family when we all were together for the first time ever - Can't express how important this was to all of us!!My two grown children, their spouses, my 3 grandchildren, my Husband and Myself. Bob told me, when I inquired 3 separate times, that I could get the Digital Disc of the photos if I placed a 'Minimum Order'. I had planned on ordering many photos so it never occurred to me that I wouldn't meet the 'Minimum Order' requirement.I assumed that I would view the photos on a website or he would provide me with proofs to make my selection. Not so -He came to my house after we took the photos, showed me the photos on his laptop. (they were going to need to be Photo Shopped for many reasons.) Some of them weren't even in focus. He quickly flipped back and forth through the photos on his computer. I had no idea that he expected me to make my selection at that time - from those unedited photos. I never had the opportunity to privately look at proofs or to compare the best pose of each person to use for his photo shopping.BOB HAD ME PLACE MY ORDER THAT NIGHT AND THAT'S WHEN HE INFORMED ME THAT THE MINIMUM ORDER TO GET THE DIGITAL COPY WAS $2000!!!!$2000!I expressed my disbelief and my husband had to step in after that because I couldn't even grasp what was going on. I have HUGE buyers remorse and feel sick every time I look at that photo. We ended up ordering several copies of a single pose that Bob was going to "do his Photo Shop Magic on". that way at least I would get the digital copy to hopefully fix some of the photos myself. Bob's 'Magic' on the photo was ridiculous. All the photos he had made for us went in the garbage. To add insult to injury.....My son and his family of 5 had their family pics (re)taken yesterday. Not a bad photo in the bunch, many different poses and creative ideas. Left the place with the Digital Disc in hand. $65.Our pictures were awful and I can't turn back time to have the opportunity to retake them. That alone is un-repairable. If I had wasted even a few hundred dollars on this it would be easier for me to get over it but....$2000. Wish I would have shown him to the door and cut my losses.

I was initially pleased with this photographer while he was taking pictures at a surprise 40th wedding party a friend gave for us....he was friendly and personable. However, when we ordered and paid for a lot of pictures, they turned out blurry and he lost the entire set of digital proofs on the computer so he couldn't fill any additional orders or improve the quality of the photos as a result. He couldn't recover them and said he couldn't find the backup either. He also had no way to view the proofs except very tiny photos on a laptop so you really couldn't tell what you were getting. VERY disappointing! He gave our $$ back, which was fair, and offered to do a portrait of us, but it was the event that couldn't be recaptured as friends flew in from out of state. Although he was ethical and apologetic, I can't highly recommend risking a big event to him.

Design photography was a big waste of time and money. I had family come in from Alaska and decided to have family portraits taken. This included the whole family and my son that was newly engaged. I asked for portraits of myself snap, snap, snap no direction or change of pose. The lining of my hat showed and my shirt needed adjusted. All pictures with the exact same flaws. Bob had my son holding my daughter's hand (odd pose for siblings). Bob called my son by a different name at the setting and viewing even after several corrections. The engagement pictures not close up or showing the ring. My son and his new fiancé had to get pictures from another photographer for the newspaper announcement. Amateur mistakes were made during the setting and I was embarrassed that my daughter wanted to use for Christmas gifts. I spent $75 for the sitting and $250 for 8 digital proofs. My daughter spent over 700.00 for 7 pictures. I expected to get direction from a professional, instead we were rushed and the shutter just kept clicking with no to little direction from Bob. I was promised treasured memories from Bob, but instead received very expensive amateur snapshots.
