Desert Low Vision Services

I accompanied an elderly family member who has low vision due to glaucoma to Desert Low Vision Services. Janet was extremely professional, very patient, and helpful! She inquired about my family member's interests, asked about visual aids currently in place, and offered a variety of additional devices to try out while there. She also made sure we were aware of services my family member qualifies for, including the ILRS and the free talking book library. Before we left, she also verified that my family member's sun glasses are polarized and have UV protection. My family member already is using their new task light and is looking forward to getting a talking book. Beyond exceptional customer service, kind and very knowledgable. They have many options for different tasks (reading, hobbies, TV, etc.) and they are super patient with customers. If you are having vision problems this is a great place to visit for help.

I just discovered this gem and wish I'd found it years ago! BEST place in Tucson (southern AZ for that matter) to get assistance with adaptive aids for visually impaired. Having been born with low vision I've been to countless doctors and low vision specialists. I must tell you that more often than not I was treated like an oddity. That is offensive and unacceptable. Upon walking into Desert Low Vision Services I was cheerfully greeted and treated with respect and kindness from start to finish! I was given the opportunity to try various visual aids for differing activities and distances. All of my questions were answered kindly, and the patience allotted me was unending. Never did I get the feeling that I was taking too long or wasting time. She took time to listen to what I needed and brought out many different devices for me to test out. I even took a stroll outside to test an outstanding pair of sunglasses (mine now). I am just so excited my eye-doctor recommended Desert Low Vision Services to me! I have gone way too many years without new visual aides. I'll be happily reading with my new glassed tonight :-)If you,or anyone you know, struggles with low vision this is the place to go. You won't find anything comparable. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming and they offer a vast array of adaptive devices. Also, gadgets to assist with daily living skills. Yes, "eye" highly recommend Desert Low Vision Services!!!

Great experience and help. Reader machines are insight to use, training to help understand how to use fully! Items in shop to help and assist low vision enjoy more full life! I'm glad I could help my Dad find this store!
