As much as my kid and I wanted to take our time souvenir shopping during our Tucson itinerary, it just didn't happen. So Del Sol on N. 4th in Tucson, came as an expensive (didn't want to) last resort right before my daughter and I headed to the airport. The owner provided tissue paper to protect a small vase for my mom, 2 color Southwestern jewelry tin boxes and of course, a dream catcher and secured with heavy-duty packing tape. Yes, you can expect to find a wide variety of items that reflect the local culture at Del Sol. And yes, the craftsmanship is all here including traditional clothing, accessories, and OMG- the handcrafted turquoise jewelry- but price wise, is slightly up there.

This is a great gift shop with really reasonable prices. The staff member was perfectly friendly. I got a really pretty blanket and some cool socks (made in USA!). You can find something for everyone here.

Mexican border towns have what's called "Curios", which are basically tchotchke shops.Del Sol is not a tchotchke shop. It's a cool south of the border cultural ware store, where you can buy blankets, clothing, and even the rare Oaxacan Alebrijes, which are these small colorful wood carvings made by indigenous folks on spiritual peyote or mushroom induced highs.I often stop here on the way to my favorite Guatemalan restaurant to get Christmas or birthday presents. This time around I bought a t-shirt for $8.00 with the images of four famous Apaches and the logo "Original Homeland Security". Gotta love being an indigenous American.Highlights:- Silver jewelry (low prices)- Native American / Mexican crafts- Fourth Avenue locationMy overall thoughts:A nice place that treats it's customers well.

I called Del Sol from San Francisco, CA, because their website was not allowing me to place an order for their Pinon Salve. Ann, who answered the phone, asked me to call their office about the website because she could not take an order over the phone. When I called the office I talked with two different men, Gordon being the second. Gordon then asked me if I could call back the next day to tell their web guy (who is on vacation until then) about the website being down. I told him I would not call back but he could take my number down and have the web guy call me back. Gordon then asked me to hang on. While he was covering the phone with his hand he said to someone in the office that there was "some bitch" on the phone. When he came back on the line I told him that I had heard him tell his co-worker that there was "some bitch" on the phone. Based on how I was treated, I decided to take my business elsewhere and want others to be aware.

This store racially profiles youth and will kick customers out who are trying to purchase things, without any explanation. I was shopping and watched as the lady at the counter yelled at two girls and very loudly asked if they were stealing and then told them to get out as they were attempting to buy something. I've never seen anybody with good customer service act like that. I will definitely not be going back.

First trip to Tucson and this place came highly recommended for their great turquoise selection! Found some very beautiful pieces and enjoyed that part of the store! Unfortunately the woman who helped us was ruder then rude very un welcoming and turned the whole experience sour. Still purchased the jewelry, but whoever the woman is who wears the sparkly black mask needs some training in basic customer service.

This place is rude and possibly racist! I went in there to find a nice turquoise silver pendant or earring. First of all he, store attendant, couldn't understand that I was saying turquoise and kept insisting that he didn't have that because he kept hearing something else. Than as I was asking to see different pendants because I was shopping and comparing items, he would ignore me. I had to repeat and raise me voice several times to get him to assist me. As soon as a "white" couple came in and started looking at jewerly in the case next me, he decided to stop what he was doing and stood right in front of them to assist. I asked one more time if there were any clasp earrings. Without looking at me, he just pointed to the showcase and said they are here. At that point, I knew he was blatantly ignoring me. I don't understand how come they sell native american jewelry and can't respect a native american customer!
