Murphy, our Golden Retriever, loves going to the Dawg House, so did his predecesser, Bisbee! It's convenient and they get supervised play with other dogs, which is so important. Safe and caring professionals take care of your fur kids!!

They lost our dog! We dropped off our dog on Friday as we headed out on vacation to Mexico. On Monday morning we called in to ask how our dog was doing, only to find out that the Dawg House had lost our dog on Sunday evening. When we asked why they had not informed us earlier, they told us that they were waiting for 24 hours to see if the dog returned before they were going to notify us. They then gave us an explanation that blamed an intern for being responsible for the loss of our dog. Since we were in Mexico, we could not return immediately due to covid test requirements to get home. In the mean time we organized a social media effort to help us locate our dog and when we informed the Dawg House that it would take a couple of days to return we asked that they do everything they can to organize a search. When I called to check in and inform them that we had friends posting fliers, they questioned whether or not they actually were out there since they hadn't seen those fliers themselves. I reminded the owner of the Dawg House that it was his responsibility to find the dog...since they lost him. Any help we offered was extra but ultimately it's their responsibility to organize the effort. Honestly, they didn't seem prepared to deal with this situation and to make matters worse, we found out that they had removed our dogs collar when they received him so he doesn't even have that going for him. Our dog is a 10 year old chihuahua mix, partly deaf, has few teeth and probably isn't able to survive on its own on the streets where temperatures in Tucson are over 100 degrees during the day. The next time we called in to get a status update on the search effort for our dog, I tried to organize a meeting time for when we arrived back from Mexico. The owner seemed more worried about his other clients and that he would not have much time since his other clients needed to be taken care of and that his time was limited. In my opinion, this owner has his priorities backwards and again this emphasizes that they have no formal process in place to deal with this scenario. Is this where you would want to take your dog?If this were a daycare for children this place would lose its license and be shut down and the local authorities would be mobilized across the entire city. I guess dogs aren't as important to the Dawg House if they haven't thought through this process. Think twice about sending your loved ones to this location (yes..pets are loved as much as any other family member).

Love this place and these people, Beck & Chris, family owned, dog friendly. My dog was well treated and coddled when they boarded him for a week. Absolutely a great experience. Highest recommendation possible.

Thanks so much Dawg House Day Care! We stopped in Tucson on our summer vacation to give our Labrador Beau a break while we went sight seeing. The facility was clean, the "regulars" were welcoming, and Beau had a wonderful day. I love being able to look in using the camera- our regular day care does not offer that service and it was nice, especially for a one time visit. The owners were warm and friendly, but most importantly, in control of the pack. I read others reviews on the use of water bottles and I saw it in action and I found it to be a non-issue. It is a non-threatening attention getter and nothing more. I would recommend this facility and will use them again when in Tucson.

I was visiting Tucson with my dogs, and needed a place to board them. I went on and searched for someplace based on location to house I was going to be at, and the airport. I could not have lucked out more! The owners were so kind with my dogs. When I got there, one of the things I noticed first was the calm atmosphere where the dogs were hanging out inside. The second thing I noticed was the lack of urine and feces odor you would expect to get where a group of dogs hang out. They integrated my dogs into their pack of day care dogs, with care and thoughtfulness. My dogs had a great time and I got to check on them with the web cam provided on their web site. I find this so helpful when boarding my dogs. I highly recommend this boarding facility for your dogs!

We travel in RV, so in town to sightsee and spend time with family in Tucson. Planned on all day sightseeing and needed day care for our two senior bassets. Read reviews and called. Spoke to Beca, she was so nice and assured us this was cage free day care. We went by Thursday morning met Reba's husband, Chris. Very nice, showed us around. Dropped off our hounds about 11:00 am, returned about 5:30 Beca said hounds had been good and hounds seemed very happy and well taken care of. Had planned to drop them off again Friday: however, did some outdoor parks and they came with us. Would use them again when in town and would recommend Dawg House. Beau and Daisy have them 5 paw rating.

LOVE this doggie daycare! My dog has been coming here for over 4 years. The dogs interact in a true pack environment which is great for his socialization and crazy energy. Convenient hours! Most importantly, all dogs are truly cared for by people who understand animal behavior and know each and every dog as an individual. This is not your Petsmart variety daycare. Have referred several friends and they all have had excellent results. Best daycare in town, hands down!

I love this place. I cant afford to bring the dogs to day care frequently but sometimes as a special treat I can take them. The owners are very kind and my dogs come home completely happy and exhausted. You can check the dog cam and see your pup playing! Too cool.

I'm pretty on the fence about this place. Now, maybe I just had weirdly high expectations. My dog and I just came to Tucson from New Orleans, where she'd attended an awesome day care for the past year and a half. Her previous day care had friendly and efficient front-desk staff, and the kennel/dog attendants all were friendly and knew my dog well. The building was clean and my dog always came home happy, tired out, and smelling good. I tried Dawg House when we got to Tucson largely because of the great Yelp reviews, as well as a quick and efficient registration process. My dog only went a couple times. The people who on the place are nice, and clearly love animals. However, I have some reservations. First, it's crazy to me that there is only one person working there at a time: that means one person per maybe 10-15 dogs, and when that person is checking someone in or out, there is no attendant with the dogs. That's just too big a risk for me -- my dog is super well-socialized and submissive, but dog fights only take a moment to happen. Also, they spray the dogs with squirt bottles to discipline, which I don't like (I know some people do; I would at least like to have been asked if I was okay with it). Today when I picked up my dog and had to pay for the day, the guy who was (the only person) there started yelling at one of the other dogs, repeatedly, because the dog was digging at the gate trying to come out. If you need to yell at a dog across the room, you simply are too understaffed to do the job -- plus the two-person staff seems confused by all parts of the process, despite the fact that they've been running the place for years (initially I thought, maybe they're new -- nope!). My dog also came home REALLY nervous both times -- maybe she was just having a hard time adjusting, I don't know. Also, the places REEKS of urine, but that was the least of my concerns.Maybe this is the norm for Tucson. I, at any rate, can't recommend this place. My dog's safety and happiness is paramount to me, and I did not feel she was safe (because of deficient staffing), and she certainly wasn't happy.

I don't rate often, but I had experiences over the last two months that have convinced me never to use this business again: (1) When I picked up my dog, I did not follow the procedure of putting him on his harness and leash before taking him from a sally port into the front desk/lobby area. My dog was acting very anxious, there were barking dogs in the play area, and I wanted to get him into a spot where it would be easier for me to take control of him. I let him into the lobby for just a moment while I opened and closed a gate to rejoin him. The owner present, Chris, immediately began yelling at me about violating the procedure. I had told him I was a lawyer, and he asked me who would have been liable if another, bigger dog was coming in the front door and fought with my dog. I said nothing; I was stunned that he was using such a severe tone with a customer. Then he pointed a finger in my face and said, "You would!" He somewhat apologized moments later as we settled payment, but the experience left a bad impression. I felt belittled and disrespected for what was an honest mistake. (2) This morning, I picked up my dog again. A few days earlier, I dropped him off with Chris, who was atypically frosty. None of our usual small talk. When I returned, Chris asked if I had left my dog there for an extra day. I said no, based on my certainty that I had adjusted the pickup date (due to changed flight dates) and a lack of written record (e.g., email confirmation) stating otherwise. He looked skeptical about my response, and quoted me the price for the time present (six days). As I followed the harness/leash process this time, and took my dog into the lobby, I said I believed I had pre-paid given the length of time reserved. This was based on my recall of a similar procedure months earlier. He again looked skeptical. As soon as I grabbed my dog's bag of food and toys, before we could take a step to the exit, Chris said, irritated, "Are you going to put your dog away?" I wanted to settle the payment question at the front desk before taking my dog to the car so Chris didn't think I was trying to leave without paying. It seemed clear that because I had again said or done something he didn't agree with, he returned to an antagonistic mode of trying to order me around. I took my dog to the car and returned to talk to Chris at the front desk. He insisted I hadn't pre-paid, checking his computer and his reservation notebook. I had made these reservations with a different, female employee or owner, so I didn't assume his records were correct in lieu of a digital confirmation. I decided to check my last few months of bank statements, which is what would confirm for me whether I paid. As I took a few moments to do this -- because a few moments is worth taking to ensure there isn't a repeat charge -- he twice insisted his records were accurate and asked me to pay the money. He also made a couple of disrespectful and condescending comments. He again invoked my profession -- a personal detail I didn't have to share with him -- and asked why I didn't have these dates and payments straight if I was an attorney. He asked (maybe in jest, but not enough so given the tone of this conversation) whether I was smoking more weed than he was lately. In the end, he was correct, and I was happy to make the payment. At this point, I was getting frustrated and wanted to leave, but I asked to confirm if my October reservations were set. I had made those arrangements with the woman who had helped me with this trip's dates. Chris checked his computer, said the dates weren't there, and said it was going to be hard to reserve me for anything through the end of the year. He then said he had to go back to the play area, and walked away. I left. Everyone else I've dealt with at Dawg House has been nice and perfectly reasonable. This is why I'm not leaving a one-star review. Chris stepped over too many lines on these occasions for me to consider going back. Customers are going to do things that violate procedures and say things that go against company records. Especially where the errors are honest and well-intentioned, the proper response is not to become rude and accusatory. After this morning, I reached out to a friend whose family has used Dawg House, and she explained encountering similar issues with Chris that made her want to board elsewhere. I was glad I wasn't imagining things. In addition, like at least one other reviewer, I've found my dog to be unusually wound up and anxious when I retrieve him. He also has been unusually hungry and thirsty. This has become problematic on multiple occasions after retrieving him, including today, because of his tendency to throw up after devouring his food and water too quickly under tension.
