If you're looking for a unique and charming getaway, the Copper Queen Hotel in Bisbee is an experience you won't forget. From the moment we arrived, check-in was a breeze--the staff was friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome right away. The hotel itself is a piece of history, with its vintage charm and timeless character. The rooms are cozy and maintain the old-world vibe while still offering modern comforts. Staying overnight with the rumored ghosts wasn't bad at all! In fact, it added to the fun of the experience. While we didn't have any paranormal encounters, the stories and ambiance made the stay even more intriguing. The location is perfect for exploring Bisbee's artsy downtown, with shops, galleries, and restaurants just steps away. After a day of wandering the town's unique streets, it was nice to come back to the Copper Queen and relax in its historic atmosphere. If you're visiting Bisbee, staying at the Copper Queen Hotel is a must. It's more than just a place to sleep--it's an adventure filled with charm, history, and maybe even a touch of the supernatural!

I wish I could say overall that I was more pleased with our stay and experiences at the Copper Queen Hotel. Its a place Ive heard of many times over throughout my life and had pretty high on my bucket list of places to stay and check out. Being someone who has an interest in the paranormal and being in a town with such a rich history it felt like the perfect place to stay when we decided to extend our trip to make a stop in Bisbee. The employees were kind, and we decided upon arrival to upgrade to 'Billys Room' hearing it was the most spiritually active. I was excited, reading the book of others experiences and hearing stories from staff, though I noticed right away that in the early 2000's many guests who stayed in Billys room were saying it was room 312, not 412 where the plaque was on the door, but mostly just chopped it up to guests being forgetful after a less than good nights sleep filled with strange sounds and movement that kept them awake. We get into the room a bit late and as the hours slip away I find myself feeling disappointed; maybe we can chop it up to picking the wrong time to come, it was Superbowl Sunday after all so it was quite loud late into the night, and sounds echoed from blocks away into the room on the 4th floor. I wish I could say it was the only disappointment. Beyond the sounds of singing and cheering seeping through every wall far past midnight, the room was incredibly hot- especially for early February. Turning on the AC unit in the room and opening a window to let in the cold air offered no real reprieve from the heat of the room that made it difficult to sleep. The bed was also incredibly worn and sunk in the middle, leading both my partner and I rolling into this ditch in the bed, with our body heat certainly not helping with the overall comfort of the already hot room. I guess maybe my expectations were too high being told it was the most spiritually active room, expecting...well...anything at all? Not an unusual sound, no footsteps or giggling in the hall, no crying when water was run. Every item placed intentionally or not was right as we left it when we left for dinner late and when we arrived back, waking up in the morning everything was placed exactly as it had been the night before. Any of the rumored happenings in Billys room were entirely absent. Now I know they cant control what a 'spirit' does or doesnt do,when activity flares up or not, but it was still a bit of a bummer none the less especially paying to upgrade for that reason. I sat in the bed a number of hours before going to sleep and noticed in the articles and photos of the room that previously there was an entirely different portrait on the wall. The portrait there now of a boy with a Mona Lisa sort of expression on his face was certainly unsettling-did he crack a smile? I spent some time looking and trying to find information on the portrait, who of course the implication is to assume that this unsettling portrait is Billy, welcoming you into the space he calls home, which clearly is not the case. I enjoy doing the background work, a bit of a curious cat I enjoy researching the people who are allegedly said to still remain in these haunted spaces, but no information could be found on Billy at all, except the story of his drowning in the San Pedro river, which is also about a 20 minute drive away. They say he haunts the hotel because his mother had worked there but it begs the question, why is this very specific room 412 associated with the boy? Of all the places between the river and hotel, why not his home? Why the top floor in this room of this hotel very specifically? The whole experience-or maybe lack thereof- left me feeling almost a bit cheated. My enthusiasm for finally staying in a place Ive wanted to for so long only to be met with an uncomfortable and silent room was a bigger disappointment than I almost even care to express. If Billy is a real entity here it seems he didn't want to come out to play with us, I hope if you find yourself there you have a better or any experiences to report.

The hotel was old in a good way. Historic! I explored the hotel and it was interesting to see the old architecture. My room was old with renovated bathrooms a TV and a Fridge. There is even a pool too. Sadly, no ghosts this time. Another thing to mention to my 4 star review is that the elevator doesn't work. Stairs! Overall, the hotel is a must visit as it is very historic and cool.

My family and I booked 2 rooms side by side on the 4th floor. When we arrived my mother who is 73 years old, had a very difficult time climbing up 4 flights of stairs because their elevator was unfortunately out of order. The department manager Randy, noticed immediately how difficult it was for her and offered to give us an upgraded room that was much nicer on the 2nd floor at no extra cost, and even gave us a $35 dollar credit! He was wonderful and took care of my mother. Thank you Randy for making her stay much more comfortable! We definitely will return in the future.

This probably my worst hotel stay ever, especially for the price point. I'd first like to say that there two employees that definitely worked their tails off to try to make this place better and attempted to accommodate. Unfortunately I didn't get their names- but a tall, blond (bartender) - she busted her butt, went above and beyond. She actually should be running the hotel. And an older woman doing breakfast orders in the restaurant (Betty?) You could tell she was ran thin and trying to best to keep things going. My husband and I came in on a big bike event weekend. So they staffing/ food/ drinks/house keeping- everything should have been ready to go. An annual event. Needless to say you are really tired and ready for your room after riding over 500 miles or more. The internet went down due a fire in the area (no biggie). However they had no backup to get in people. We did get checked in 3. However, the room was not ready. So we were able to put our bags in the room to do what we needed. We returned at 7:30pm and the room STILL was not touched. And the housekeeper is on her phone in the hall, and her child with her. We were so cold and tired from the bike ride. Tyler was there then and came to the room and it was made up shortly after and attempted to make it right. Which helped but it just kept going down hill the whole weekend. The staff also apparently eat and hang out on the 2nd floor dining area. And left there pizza box and drink cups on it from at 3-8pm. The microwave for use was horrible and I about threw up opening it. - Bar draft wasn't working- out of CO2 at the bar- no canned soda at bar as an alternative for the CO2 out- very limited dinner menu due to food items being out-FOUND a metal NUT in my fries. This was just icing on the cake at this point. My review for that is on the restaurant page. I gave up at this point. - staff is so short everyone is running around with their hands cut off. I honestly feel bad for the ones you tell that care. Over all the hotel is just way ran down and over hyped. Just do a tour and leave it at that. Definitely not what I paid for and will never stay there again for the annual event.

I loved this place back in the day. It is such a historic hotel conveniently located in the heart of Bisbee. I was absolutely a fan of the bar, which used to be such a relaxing place to grab a cold one and hang out after a day of walking around town.I'm not sure what happened but the bar has been mostly cleared out. The tables and chairs have been almost completely removed and half of the bar was completely vacant of everything but an old cooler with a case of diet coke on display. They don't do any drinks requiring a blender anymore and bar food is no longer an option. The bartender was working alone and was frazzled and overall the vibe was just sad, like walking into a friends house that has been halfway cleared out and is a ghost of it's former self. Pun intended.

Glad for the historical experience. But.... elevator has been out of order for quite some time in a 4 story hotel. I'm on oxygen, no 1st floor rooms. Dining room food was good but slow. 25 minutes for basic egg breakfast and we were first table after they opened half hour late because nobody had keys to the door. Dinner server had no bartender and she didn't know cabernet from chardonnay. Not her fault.

The elevator in the Copper Queen Hotel has been taken out of service and this fact is not well known without a detailed search of booking site reviews. The hotel's lack of transparency in this regard is troubling and probably an ADA violation. Additionally dining service was lengthy and tedious (1 1/2 hour wait for dinner). Desk staff on the evening shift were inhospitable to say the least. This is so disappointing as we have been guests many times over the years - and to see the quality of this unique property decline is sad.

We came for dinner. The chair I sat in was broken. The waitress was friendly but inattentive for 20 minutes to get our drink order in, and the dinner, the salmon, was very subpar, overcooked with a heavy sour sauce. Very disappointing. Folks, you can do better.
