The cave tour itself is very tame but they do have other tours for anyone who likes to explore more adventurous areas of the cave, that involves more physical activity than walking and ducking out of ragged formations. No issues for anyone who is vertically challenged. The tour is not wheelchair accessible. The site has a gift shop, it's where you check-in for the tour. You can buy tickets online and veterans have a discount, just show them your military ID card when checking in. They have ample parking as well just be cautious when entering since the road tends to narrow down as you make your way to the parking area. The cave is warm, so I suggest taking the tour during fall or winter time. Lastly, remember to tip your tour guide either with cash or through their QR codes conveniently by the entrance of the cave.

Our guide, Everett, is the king of dad jokes, but that's what makes the tour so enjoyable along with his wealth of knowledge about the cave, house it was found, the owner, the animals found inside, and much more.Definitely worth a visit. I took the standard cave tour but they offer a more extensive tour where you explore parts of the cave that require you to be physically fit and not claustrophobic. There is a self guided nature tour starting outside the gift shop as well, which takes you to a little relaxing garden and also for a walk around property with signs explaining the names of plants you see.Be sure to check out the gift shop, especially if you like rocks. There is also a little convenience stand that sells food and drink and even alcohol. The soft serve is a big hit!I'd definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Tucson. It's about 15 miles outside the city limits and in Vail,AZ.

This place was so cool when you first arrive you park at the top of the mountain and take some narrow steps down to meet your guide and start your cave tour. We were in Arizona for the gem festival so very appropriate thing to do is see where they come from. My daughter had a great time she thought she would be afraid due to her last experience but was super brave and she really enjoyed seeing all of the facts and learning more about caves. It was cool to learn this particular cave was also celebrity it was featured on a Sesame Street movie. We arrived a couple minutes late but was quickly escorted to the rest of the group for my daughter took the lead and enjoyed her self for the time in the money it's a great prize there is wonderful views they have a little restaurant and a gift shopReview 504

This is a great half day trip to take just to experience a cavern for a novice or for kids first underground experience. PROs: The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable about the site. Our tour guide, Shantell, was enthusiastic and a great guide on our lantern tour-which lasted about 45 mins. We took a 6 year old on the tour and there were no issues with the stairs or path. Lots of light and hand rails. The cavern is a cool experience for little ones. Gift shop has a lot of applicable stuff for purchase, but it's a little pricey. Restrooms are adequate and clean. Plenty or parking, even for RVs. The snack shack, "Terrance Cafe", has a nice little selection. We had pretzel dogs and IPAs, both of which were excellent. Prickly Pear lemonade was also refreshing for the drive outta here. CONs: The address sometimes will take you to the wrong part of the park. Once you get to the area follow the cave signs to get to the gift shop and cavern, not your gps.

Just finished the ladder cave tour and it was sooooo cool! The cave is huge and our guide was so impressive with his presentation of the cave. So many twists and turns. Adam had us go through very tight spaces and steep ladders and more ledges and small areas. So much fun! Adam was so great and I would highly recommend this tour! Must be pretty flexible and bendy and love enclosed adventure!!

Ladder tour was fun, not too difficult. Could have been longer...loads to see and navigate. Dalton was an excellent guide and very handsome . We had the added excitement of seeing an indigenous cricket to that particular cave system and hearing two "active" rock squirrels.

We loved our 45 minute tour. We got tickets ahead of time online and arrived about 15 minutes early since we had no idea where we were going. We each were given a lantern. The tour guide said they used to have lights inside the cave, but the excessive rain last year ruined that and that's why we had lanterns. There are railings to use when you are going down and up the stairs. The tour guide was very good with informing you ahead of time how to navigate the area carefully whether it was walking more on one side of the stairs or walking sideways down the stairs.I have kids over 6 feet tall, so some spots required lots of crouching for them to avoid getting hit in the head. There also were some narrow spots, so that could be tight for some. They don't allow kids under 5 years old and if you can't walk down and up lots of stairs this isn't for you. They also offer a ladder tour which we didn't choose since I had the tall guys. Afterwards we sat in the courtyard and had a beverage. Then we tried to walk the trails and went on one and quickly had to turn around since it was closed. The map they gave us in the gift shop was very hard to read and we were kind of frustrated. We didn't check out the petting zoo or other amenities. Hopefully they were wasier to find!

Purchased a tour for my boys and I. It was a wonderful experience since we had never done anything like this as a family. It was a 1.5 hour guided tour and our guide, Everest, was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable and had good corny jokes..
