I seriously had fun shopping I there. I was taught the art of bargaining for a price that I was willing to pay. After looking through the entire store, I found two pendants that I couldn't afford without the deals. Walked out with two wonderful pieces that I will treasure for years. Thanks so much for working with my budget.

I see lots of positive comments and a few negative comments. However in our more recent visits to this store (actually quite a few visits and purchases) we have been treated very well. My husband loves to chat with people and he has always been treated kindly. They are willing to bargain which is nice. We always drop by there every time we visit Tubac and we have never observed or experienced rudeness.

Don't visit this place if you're a nonsmoker, it was like walking into a dirty ashtray with a lit cigarette burning. The owner was hacking up a lung the entire time we were there, was rude and insulting! Zero rating!

UNBELIEVABLE RUDENESS AND ARROGANCE. We walk in and this man that owns the store with his wife was wearing jewelry loops, he followed us everywhere we went in the shop and was overbearing. The prices were outrageously expensive because they just happened to custom design stuff. If you walk in here, the prices will be from 500 to 3,000 dollars no joke. The man is very disrespectful and condescending. My mother asked him if a lot of people were here for the holiday, he said what holiday? As tomorrow is 4th of July.. He said it's not 4th of July yet... He was disrespectful, unwelcoming, and condescending.. Be aware of this place, it is tourist trap, and nobody should be treated this way ever... You can get much better deals, and the same stuff somewhere else, in San Xavier. I want to apologize in the future to anybody that has to ever encounter this guy... When my mother and her friend were done looking, he said to my mother, She's not done looking & the friend said YES I AM. Another couple were in and said that they are from Michigan and she said a few tribes are there, he said There are actually 18. This man loved to prove that he was right and you were wrong, and he is a true bully.

Kind and helpful employees. Always there to help and answer questions. You can spend hours in that shop looking at all the interesting wares and can't get out without buying something (my only complaint)! I have been there numerous times - FYI, the owner is NOT MARRIED so Ian Johnson must be referring/reviewing the wrong shop.

There are alot of native american jewelers in the Tucson and Southern Arizona area. Cloud Dancer is one of the best shops in the area. Quality one of a kind pieces that will last a lifetime. My husband has purchased several pieces for me as gifts and I have enjoyed each and every one of them. He is a bit expensive, but hey, you get what you pay for. I highly recommend him. I have seen some comments about the owner being rude and arrogant. I haven't found that to be true.

To be in with, the owner is one of the most knowledgeable and polite artisans who I've met in my International travels. During one visit in his gallery I brought some some jewelry and belt buckles that I inherited from my parents and shared with this owner I was only trying to settle an estate. Also that I was not interested in selling these items. The owner of this gallery asked me to sit down and offered me some cold water which was welcomed. We sat and he explained not only the value of these items but their history. Very incite full! The person who reviewed this artist with terms such as arrogance must of been talking about some other gallery in Tubac ir was one of the locals. I did experience way too much arrogance at a local restaurant named Elvira's. It was the only time of I'm life that I walked out of restaurant without eating, and I was hungry! Stay away from that place and ask the owner of The Cloud Dancer, Tom for some recommendations! Gary

I really like jewelry. And the pieces I have are nearly all either vintage, antique or made by an artist/designer, instead of being mass-produced. I recently moved to Tubac and wanted to find a piece of jewelry to commemorate my stay. I walked around town and looked at a number of stores but nothing felt right. Then I walked into Cloud Dancer. It's much bigger on the inside, and in each case is a curated collection of estate-bought vintage Native American jewelry and modern Native American jewelry. There are other collectibles there as well, but I came for the jewelry. Tom Barbre is a Native American jeweler himself and he is a little matter-of-fact, but once I knew he was a serious guy who loves jewelry, I felt good about buying a piece from him. Prior to walking into his shop, I was a little wary about buying a vintage piece because a lot of vintage pieces are heirlooms that have been picked up in pawn shops, and I don't want to get a good deal at the expense of someone else. It feels like you are trading in sadness. I know that "old pawn" and "dead pawn" are referring to something different than a straight-up pawn shop, but there is a lot of jewelry for sale in high-end shops that recently was bought for pennies on the dollar from a person who may have fallen on hard times. Cloud Dancer jewelry doesn't buy their jewelry from pawn shops. They buy it directly fromEstate sales. That is a big deal to me. Anyway- I looked at a few pieces of modern jewelry and then I asked for the vintage stuff and I ended up buying a piece of railroad jewelry. It's a bracelet made somewhere between 1900-1935. It was made to sell to tourists who would come in on trains to explore the Southwest. Tom took the time to tell me all about it. I have since brought in several visiting friends and everybody has picked up a piece of beautiful jewelry to take home. Tom has taken the time to tell us about each designer and/or the origins of each piece. Many pieces run between $500-$1000 dollars. Some are much more. But one of my friends got a pair of beautiful modern turquoise earrings for about $150. One of my friends bought an intricate inlaid opal bracelet. It was too long for her wrist so Tom offered to take off two links of it and make her matching earrings. It's gorgeous. So if you are coming to Tubac to buy a piece of jewelry that you will cherish and/or wear every day, I recommend Cloud Dancer.

This is a phenomenal place and jeweler. My husband and I worked with the artist/ owner to design our wedding rings. He worked with us and designed beautiful rings that are very special to us. No, it is not cheap like places that carry "real Indian " jewelry from China or elsewhere. This is the real stuff.

My sister and I both love turquoise and vintage turquoise jewelry. The pieces in this store are beautiful with many one-of-a-kind items. I was able to find a vintage Fred Harvey era ring I love at a great price and my sister chose a newer, one-of-a-kind turquoise ring that she bought herself for her birthday. The owner and artist Tom Barbre has some of his own incredibly beautiful pieces there for sale as well. While the two gentlemen in the store may have been characters (in the best way), I found them very helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back.
