Tombstone City Park
Tombstone City Park
I know Tombstone is an old west town, but the park shouldn't seem like a jail!
They REALLY make it clear that no dogs are allowed!

Arizona 01-2024 Tony and I while walking around Tombstone stopped at the City Park to use the Public Restrooms. There was the statue of Edward Schieffelin the man who technically founded the city of Tombstone. It was his claim that was the original owner of the town itself.#bucketlisttriplisatony2024

Located next to the famous OK Corral and just off the main street of Tombstone, this park is great for burning off a little energy with the swingset or you can chill out at the picnic shelter. They also have public restrooms and a gazebo that was being set up this morning for a school reunion.Street parking is free. I had a nice sit here, waiting for the breakfast restaurant to open.[Review 17495 overall - 82 in Arizona - 1013 of 2022.]

Located next-door to the famous OK corral, the City of Tombstone Park (so reads the sign) has a fenced off area featuring public restrooms, a covered picnic table area, and a swingset. Not much in the way of grass here, but there are a few shade trees, as well as one of those... What are those things called? That are all covered and round like a mini stage where what's his name sings Poco Loco in that movie about Dia de Los Muertos? Yeah one of those. Gazebo?Hours are 7 AM to 10 PM, but seriously if you were to stay here that long, you must be local. Or sleeping. Or worse???Why do you need to know about this place? Because it's one of the few public restrooms in town that do not require you to purchase some campy touristy item. Or a meal. Or a sarsaparilla. By the way, you should probably buy all of those things, but not for the sake of taking a leak.I wanted to walk up to a perfect stranger, and say "Darlin', it appears we might need to redefine the nature of our association." but then I remembered that movie is like more than 25 years old, and I don't think the girl was... which is to say, the 1993 movie did not mention this park, but it is rather fitting for the town that there's a swing set just a few yards from where the Earps, Clantons, and McLaurys blasted their way into history.

This park is open til 10pm, and is kept pretty clean. It has a public bathroom. It sits on the edge of the main street, and was a nice place to sit and relax, let the kids play. There is a swing, covered picnic tables, and a grassy area. There is parking in front of park or at the corner.
