Ciao Down

What a great way to start our day of beer and pizza! Ciao Down was delish and a perfect combo to the tap house that is right next door. The staff is friendly and delivers your deliciousness right to your table on the patio at the tap house. Couldn't ask for anything more... :-) We order the Classic Pepperoni and the Hawaiian pizzas. Both were fantastic. The pepperoni was crispy and full of flavor. The Hawaiian had a perfect combination of sweet and salty, loaded with bacon and ham. Yum-o!The topper was the Flat Iron Pepper mix that kicked the pizza up just a notch to SUPER DELICIOUS!

On this laid-back Sunday, I wanted to have some pizza to go and enjoy the final week of regular season football. I love supporting local businesses, and Ciao Down not only met my expectations but exceeded them with what I now consider the best pizza I have had in Tucson and the surrounding areas. I love it when establishments have creativity and offer nontraditional choices. We ordered the Big Dill, the Legendary Snake Bite, and the Harvest Moon (see picture for descriptions). Pumpkin puree on pizza? Yes, please! There are at least five other pizzas I want to try before they change their menu. While there is no place to sit inside, there are plenty of tables for au fresco dining, with a pleasant atmosphere, and a craft beer and wine establishment next door. When my wife requested that onions be removed from her choice, the server asked some exploratory questions asking if the request was based on preference or if she had an allergy to ensure she was taken care of appropriately, which was very thoughtful.Ciao Down has my highest recommendation. We will be back many times!

Super friendly owner but I just didn't love the pizza. The snake bite which is their most popular, was too sweet for my taste and the bacon overpowered the other ingredients. Also tried the heatwave which I didn't care for either. The combination of flavors just didn't work for me and set my mouth on fire.

The best pizza is all of Tucson hands down! We love coming here and eating at Hop Shop or we'll order ahead on their app and take it home. All of their food is amazing and you can't go wrong with getting a pizza from here.

I've been to Ciao Down twice in the prior two weeks... Holy shmoly their pizza excellent!!!This is indeed artisanal pizza... beginning with the amazing crust. It has just a bit of crunch, then the chewiness, then the incredible flavors of your pizza take over and all three that I've tried I would definitely recommend.The Margarita Pizza was as perfect as could be, but wowzer, the fig and prosciutto pizza was a huge hit... and the Bella, mushroom and sausage and other good stuff I cannot recall, was my favorite, but I would never turn down any of the three. The folks working there were all very friendly, the facility itself, though small, was comfortable and conveniently located next to the Tucson Hop Shop, which I escaped to for a little beer while my pizzas were in the oven.This is a TEN STAR pizza place,no exaggeration.It's now also my favorite pizza place,which understates how much I love it.If you're a fan of artisanal pizza, you won't be disappointed with Ciao Down. Most highly recommended!!'

The best pizza hands down! I ordered a half and half. One half being the Big Dill and the other being the rattlesnake (I hope I got that correct). I have been dreaming of the pizza since I've left! We ordered our food and headed over to Hop Shop and they delivered our food to us!

A little quick update on Ciao Down, they have a Bahn Mi Pizza Peeps! Cornholio is back and very fitting for the upcoming season, The Heatwave! Had all three and were sorry they ran out of goat cheese so we could not try the fig and prosciutto. Next time!Always great pizza with fast service and can't beat the cold beers at Tyson Hop Shop!

The pizzas at Ciao Down are tasty and creative. Love coming here and hanging out at the Hop Shop. This time we did a take out order and loved the convenience of ordering off the website. For a group of 7 adults and 3 kids we got two snake bites, a bill dill, a Nashville hot chicken, a pepperoni and a three amigos. I stopped by the Hop Shop and got some beers to go and the pizzas were ready. They made sure to check that our order was correct before handing them to me.

Cool pizza joint near Tucson Hop Shop. The pizza was very good with fresh ingredients as far as I can tell. It was fast and friendly counter service. Didn't try to modify the pizza, but I believe you're able to add or take toppings off. Pizza was a good size for the price.

We really wanted to love this pizza. Ordered tres amigos and Bella toscana. They were both extremely dry, as if there was no sauce on either. The pepperoni and sausage were very salty. Maybe it's because it was a busy day, but I will never come back to this.
