Quaint, comfortable, quiet, and cozy, this B&B nestled in Madera Canyon is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway if you are looking for nature or an opportunity to escape the daily grind. You can venture out from your room to hike or simply enjoy one of the many patio areas to watch birds and squirrels. We stayed in "the nest" which was a smaller but beautiful room with a 4-post bed. The bed itself was quite comfortable though a bit squeaky. The room was clean, comfortable, roomy, and came with everything we needed to enjoy a quiet evening away from the kids. We brought food to make a gourmet campfire dinner and enjoyed the BBQ set up and fire pit. Breakfast was provided and while we did not care for the prepped quiche (tasted like a slice of pizza) we enjoyed the apple crisp and yoghurt parfait and the gesture alone! The grounds are well-kept and ideal for birders, nature lovers, and adults in general. While the close-knit atmosphere is not the place for a honeymoon or rekindling romance, it is perfect for a small relaxing getaway or the place to start your Big Year!

We just returned home from a too-short anniversary stay at the Chuparosa Inn in Madera Canyon east of Green Valley. It was our third stay at the inn and Luis and Nancy were as hospitable as ever and the accommodations met every expectation we had. The setting is amazing and the hiking is fantastic, but only if you like treking straight up! Mt. Wrightson and the surrounding Santa Rita Mountains will kick ones rear end, especially if you're a flatlander like us. A truly amazing respite and we'll definitely be back thanks to the owners and staff at the inn.

This place is absolutely amazing if I would be judging on scenery and ambiance alone. The caretaker is a polite and courteous gentleman whom is very knowledgeable about the area and the surrounding areas. Need somewhere to eat, a place to buy antiques, how to navigate the intricate trail system, or even where to buy spices, he knew it all and was incredibly friendly each time we saw him. The property is nestled into the hillside of a mountain and is the last stop before the road ends into the national park. Our room "The Bird's Nest" had a wonderful view of the back of the property from the bed or the kitchenette. The inn provides breakfast in the from of teas and coffee, house made quiche that was very good and yogurt parfaits with fresh berries. He provides milk and orange juice as well. This is a wonderful place to visit if you want foliage and isolation. My wife and I loved it and it will not be the last time we visit. If you are a technology addicted person they do provide wifi but ask you to not stream movies and videos as the isolation limits the availability. They also do not have a television. Spend your time hiking and making love as we did instead of being tied down to your devices. Great place, great service, and great time.

This bed and breakfast inn tucked away in Madera Canyon is awesome. It is the furthest inn from the entrance and the addition and renovation of it are tasteful and blend with the natural beauty of the canyon. The second story is literally built around a tall majestic tree. A small crossover bridge to a walking trail runs over a babbling brook that makes sleep peaceful and restful. There are 3 or 4 rooms, each named for something unique. We stayed in the hummingbird room. Furnishings are new, comfy and tasteful. The place is very clean and up to date. The owners live on site and take great care in keeping the place well landscaped, clean and inviting. They are a young married couple who have made Madera Canyon their home. Outside there are adirondack chairs to sit on in a charming and open deck area and a separate, more private area for dining. I enjoyed the peace and quiet, the birds, and other wildlife (deer is all I saw). I suppose the owners' 2 dogs keep away any threatening wildlife and/or intruders but are friendly to visitors. A cold breakfast is served in your room every morning. A big fancy built in grill is located on the patio area for those guests who want to grill their dinner. Each room has a microwave oven and small refrigerator as well as a sitting area. Madera Canyon is a known bird sanctuary and people from all over the world come here to view rare birds that migrate here. It's a good thing that Chuparosa Inn has parking for its guests because depending on what bird happens to be visiting, parking can be a challenge. Plenty of hiking trails all over the place. Make sure you bring a good pair of binoculars, a camera, and good walking shoes. I will definitely be returning to the Chuparosa Inn!
