I feel so lucky to have this wonderful river path practically in my backyard. Today I started at the parking lot across from the YMCA on Shannon and took the trail along the Cañada del Oro up to La Cañada Drive. Due to all the construction on La Cañada, I was a little confused on whether the trail ended or continued across the street. I crossed LaCañada and started up a dirt trail for 100 yards but turned around since it didn't appear to be part of the linear park and I didn't know where I'd end up.There were a few other walkers and bikers that I encountered along my path and all were friendly. Signs do warn to beware of venemous creatures and one should always keep their eye on the path ahead of you. Today I encountered a medium sized rattlesnake sunning itself in the middle of the path. I've also experienced the other end of the park off Thornydale and it's a great stretch along the Cañada del Oro as well. The Christina Taylor Green Memorial Linear Park is such a wonderful way to get some exercise, enjoy beautiful views, nice people and the occasional wildlife.

The CDO-CTG Memorial Linear Park is a beautiful new addition to the linear walking trails in Tucson. The park consists of approximately 1.75 miles of paved shared-use pathway stretching from the north end of the Omni/Tucson National Golf Course on the east bank to Thornydale. It passes under at Magee Road and Ina Road, and pedestrian bridges are strewn throughout for drainage purposes. The landscaping is beautiful and helps to enhance the beauty of the walk! Two parking areas are provided: one near the Shannon Road and Magee Road intersection across from the NW YMCA/PCC and the other east of the Thornydale Road bridge across from Costco. If you haven't tried the walkway yet, its a fantastic addition to a strength training workout at the YMCA!

This park/path is one of my favorite places in Tucson. I walk this about 4-5 times a week. I'm lucky to live about a mile away, but sometimes park my car in the lot to start there. It's peaceful and at certain times of the day/year there is such beautiful nature to be seen. The only downside is that there are some cyclists who ride extremely fast and can be very rude! They will pass really close to you on purpose, even when you are pregnant or have a stroller with a newborn baby. I wish they would go elsewhere for that kind of riding, as this park is meant for everyone to enjoy and isn't meant only for cyclists. Another option could be to post a sign with a suggested speed limit for them, but I'm not sure what good that would do. It's a bummer they have to act like that.

Such a nice place that was made behind my moms house! It really encouraged people to get out and be active! Lets be honest, walking in a dirty wash is not anyone's cup of tea, but having a nice, landscaped area to walk the dog or to go bike riding makes it easier to stay out longer! It isn't anything crazy special but they added a nice little rest stop area with a bathroom and some nice plants at the end of the walk with parking spots if you don't live in the general area. lots of kids live in the surrounding homes so it can get slightly crowded around 3:00 when school gets out but the walkway is large enough to accommodate. You will still see the wash and peoples backyard as you walk but a little nature and neighbors never hurt any body! you may even make a new friend! Only downside, people let their dogs off leash without considering the others walking their dogs, so if you have an aggressive dog or are uncomfortable with unknown dogs with your pup you may want to walk them somewhere else since the path is rather narrow and would not have room for you to move away.

The reason behind the naming of the park makes it special and the park is very well done. Pima County does a good job maintaining the walk way and bathroom area. I wish the people using the area were more considerate. Often, dog owners will walk the path and take their "well behaved" dog's off leash. This has resulted in bites and responsible pet owners not using the pathway. It is a shame some people choose to be rude and inconsiderate. That being said, many people who partake in this park's clean and popular paths are very friendly and the hard core bicycle rider's are courteous and careful of pedestrians.

A really beautiful park with an amazing path running along the wash through Tucson National Golf Course and Country Club. A great place to see Tucson wildlife or, if you time it right, to spy on the Tucson Open.

I'm sad to see that none of the other five reviews so far seems to mention much more than rudeness of some patrons or the layout of the park. The park is a special place partly because, as this photo caption of the park opening says, "By A.E. Araiza / Arizona Daily Star / April 2, 2017: John Green pauses at the monument for his daughter at the dedication of Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Park. The Green family, Pima County officials, donors and friends celebrated the opening of the park at North Shannon and West Magee Roads. Green was the youngest person killed in the January 8, 2011 shooting that wounded Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords."I believe that this is a place not only to ride bikes, run, and enjoy the art, but also to remember what can happen to anyone in our country. I hope this doesn't seem too political to you. This park is a special and bittersweet place for me.

Nicely paved walk along the "river". Not quite the same as a walk along a river in the Pacific NW where I'm from. The biggest difference between rivers here and rivers there is that there is water in the rivers there. The walk is also alongside a golf course so one can contemplate the morality of watering a golf course in a desert.Christina's story is so sad, a pointless murder of an innocent child with huge potential by a deranged wing-nut...
