Chavez since 67 re-upholstered two antique heirloom chairs. The fabric selection is outstanding, and I am happy with that. The workmanship was poor. One of the chairs literally fell apart after very little use. A screw came undone, which caused the back of the chair to fall off. These are high quality chairs I inherited from my grandparents, beautiful art deco high quality pieces. I reached out and asked them to fix the problem. They said they would pick up the chairs and take care of it. However I never heard back from them after this, and my attempts to reach them have gone unanswered. I spent over $1500 to have the work completed. I will take the broken chair somewhere else and pay to have it fixed. I do not recommend this place.

I may change this to a 5-STAR review once our project is completed.I have to say, Chavez Since 67 was a pleasant surprise to find. We have a very well made 5 piece sectional sofa that has been lovingly used by 5 kids and their friends, several dogs and many adults. Let's just say, it's past the time for an update! We didn't want to just throw it away or even purchase new as the quality just wouldn't be the same. So we decided to have it reupholstered. We placed our order with Chavez Since 67 for all the fabric (12 weeks ago), for the 5 piece sectional sofa, a bench seat cushion, and many throw pillows (all fabric, shipping of fabric and labor was paid in full upfront). The fabrics are just gorgeous, I can't wait to see everything.We went back a couple of weeks later to place another order for several rooms of window treatments (drapery panels and Roman shades) plus extra fabric for projects which we are doing ourselves (again, all paid in full upfront)!I am so anxious for Eddie Chavez to pick up our sectional and begin his magic.Two keys items to be noted:* The selection of fabrics to choose from can be overwhelming; however, Eddie Chavez is excellent at working with you to help you choose the right fabric for your desired look and stay within your budget;* He did inform us that he is running 8-10 weeks out before he can begin a new project and we are now @ 12 weeks;* Chavez offers discounts if paid in full (which we did);* Chavez offers free pick up and delivery upon completion too.I'm super hopeful they can immediately pick up at least 3 pieces of our sectional so they can begin our project. (Today's date: 11/5/24).So far, working with Chavez Since 67 and specifically, Eddie Chavez, has been very pleasant; however, he isn't always super quick to reply to our messages. Hopeful it's just that he's very busy and I'm super excited to get this project under way and see the final results.I feel confident that my rating will go UP upon completion of our projects. At first, I was very impressed with the work performed by Eddie. He took my six dining room chairs and recovered them within a few weeks and they were beautiful. I had three other small chairs for him to recover so I paid upfront for everything since he said prices would be going up after the first of the year and he would give me a 10% discount if I paid in advance. This was November 2023. I am still waiting for the other three chairs to be finished and have tried numerous times to contact him via email with no response. I am left with no other option but to file with the small claims court to recover my $2400. He told me that he was having medical issues and I sympathized with him, but after going online and seeing that he's had recent reviews for recent work I don't understand why he has put new customers ahead of me. I am very disappointed because I was really looking forward to getting the other three chairs recovered, but now all I want is my money refunded.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN!!!He is a liar and a thief and belongs in jail. I don't know how he can live with himself. Bottom line is that I'm out of $10,000. He encouraged me to pay in cash up front for 3 window coverings. I patiently waited for over 4 months without complaining or calling. Then I started telling him I thought this was taking too long, Thats when the lies started and the ignored messages and phone calls. After 6 months I asked for my money and material I ordered.I told him I thought he was unprofessional and he called me NASTY!We contacted the BBB but that was no help at all. We are now taking him to court because he finally told us he has no money to give us...that he is broke.

If you like your hard-earned money, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT give one penny to Eduardo Chavez! Why, you ask? Because you will never see it again and you will want to believe he will give you back a beautiful upholstered product.....you will be greatly disappointed, my friend. OK, I admit I was gullible & gave him almost $10K upfront to take advantage of his offered 10% discount. I've been taken to the (upholstery) cleaners...pun intended! Even though I'm taking him to Justice court, I'm not optimistic.

Wayne and I had very heavy older patio cushions for a sofa and two chairs, 10 in all!Eddie helped me select the fabric, which we love and decided to keep the quality cushions and have them reupholstered, beautifully redone! Great work but keep in mind patience with timing and allow time to get the fabric and work completed!

Eddie and his team did a really nice job reupholstering an old loveseat for us. One thing to keep in mind is these projects are not quick turnarounds, so patience is required. We initiated the transaction back in November, and once he collected the sofa in mid February it was about a 2 week turnaround. The end product was outstanding, and overall we were able to meet our goals of keeping our sofa out of a landfill while also supporting a local business.

Review of Eddie Chavez of Chavez since 67 1/9/2024 My wife and I had an appointment with Eddie on July 21 2023. We brought a dining chair seat bottom so he could use it as a template. We ordered four foam cushions and selected the fabric my wife liked which he was going to order for us. We were planning to reupholster the chairs ourselves. I paid Eddie using my debit card $316.90. He told us it would probably take ten days to two weeks to get the fabric. At two weeks I called Eddie and left a voicemail He didn't return my call. So I waited a couple of days and tried again, again no response. This went on until we decided to show up at the business almost a month after paying him. I rang the doorbell a couple of times until he opened the door, he was with a customer that was leaving and he was visibly irritated at us for "not making an appointment". I explained that I couldn't make an appointment if he wont answer his phone or return his calls. He said if I emailed him he would've responded. He then told us that the cushions were completed, but that Fedex had lost our shipment and he had reordered and that the fabric should be here "any time now". I waited for another ten days and I left a voicemail again and I also emailed him, no response. I did this at least three more times until I sent an email saying that I wanted our seat bottom back and our money back as well, and if he didn't respond I would just go to his door and ring the doorbell until he answered. He finally responded with an appointment time. I went to the appointment with Eddie and he had our seat bottom and the four cushions setting on the counter, no fabric. I told him I would go ahead and take the cushions and that I would like a refund for the fabric which is a little over $200, I don't know the exact number because he didn't itemize on the receipt. He agreed and said we would have our refund by the end of the week. This was September 11 2023, 52 days after our first appointment. I have called and emailed a number of times and he has never responded. It has been nearly seven months since our first appointment, and nearly four months since he promised me a refund. I will now be filing a complaint against Eddie Chavez with the BBB since it's obvious he has no intention of keeping his word.Bob B.
