Jim & Marnay are the best! They can't do enough for you. We stayed with them because we were hiking the AZT. They let us check in early. Took us out to lunch with them. Drove us to dinner and came back and got us. The motel is older, not the Ritz, but adequate. The towels are great, the beds comfortable. We were staying only one night but felt like family when we left the following morning.

A great place to stay when you come to Oracle. It has a unique atmosphere (teepee hotel) the views are great, very well maintained (clean) and the owners Marny and Jim are absolutely incredible people.

The Goto stop on the Arizona Trail. This is the AZTs Trail Angel equivalent of the CDTs Toaster House. either north or southbound try to plan a night here. Marney also restocks the water caches in the desert north to the Gila river, w/out which the AZT would be unsurvivable for most people.

I am always welcomed with open arms at the Chalet. Marney, the manager is always focused on ensuring my stays are perfect. This includes free shuttle rides to and from my favorite restaurants. Everything is as advertised at fair prices. Included is a free laundry.

How does that yelp line go? "I really wanted to like blah blah blah, buuuuuuuuut..."From the outside, the Chalet Village Motel looks like an adorable little A-Frame motor inn from the 50's. The lady at the front desk was friendly and checked us in quickly. We had a great conversation with the locksmith as well. The rooms were quaint. My room had a full size bed and a twin bed separated by a night table with a lamp, an overstuffed rocker, a small refrigerator, microwave, and a small TV. The inside of the A-Frame is really cool knotted pine. The place was rustic and I was really diggin' it! The room was a little warm so I turned on the evaporative cooler. It was loud, but cooled down the small room rather quickly. I was rather exhausted after a long day of field work so I took a quick shower in the small stand-up shower stall and got ready for bed. The bed was small, but comfortable, so I was good. Everything seemed to be perfect, until I had to use the bathroom at 3:30 in the morning.Let me just say, when I crawled out of bed, it was C-O-L-D!!! Now it is the beginning of Fall, and it's in the mountains so it's my own fault for not bringing warmer pj's. No Biggie. But after using the bathroom, the toilet kept running. It was so bad, no amount of jiggle to the handle, or Chuck Norris karate kick was going to solve the problem so I shut the water to the toilet off and went back to bed. I woke up the next morning and was getting ready to head back out into the field when I noticed the spider webs in the corner of the bathroom. Perhaps I was just too tired to notice them the night before. I'm not sure. But when I closed the door to the bathroom, I noticed there were quite a few more behind the door as well. How much effort does it take to use a broom? I know this isn't the Ritz Carlton, and I don't expect much when you stay at a place like this, but I do expect the place to be clean. The Chalet Village Motel is good for what it is, a low budget, no frills motor inn. All in all, I liked the place, and would have stayed there again, however, we ended up being moved to the Best Western about 15 minutes away on the next trip and it was very nice for just a few dollars more.

This place was awesome! The owner was very nice and accommodating, and the cabins are lovely. It isn't the Ritz-Carlton, but if you were looking for the Ritz, why are you in Oracle, AZ? The cabin I stayed in had two nice, comfortable beds, a separate room for a shower/bathroom/sink, cable TV, wi-fi. It was plenty of space, and everything worked well. Definitely stay here!
