Cathey's Sewing & Vacuum

My vacuum cleaner died, and I took it too Cathey's for my first visit. They were busy but told me to bring it in. They fixed it right at the counter, charged me a very reasonable price, and I was out in 15 minutes. They are the best.

The staff here have always been extremely helpful and efficient. I started taking in an ancient Kirby vacuum cleaner, and wound up buying one of their full-size electric vacuum cleaners. The new one had troubles now and again, and they continually worked with me to get it working properly. I'm extremely happy with the customer service.

Very good customer service and prompt response to my vacuum problem. I would recommend Cathey's to anyone for sewing or vacuum repair or purchase.

I love this shop. Customer service is top notch - they are so incredibly helpful and accommodating. I bought my Miele from them about 16 years ago and it's still running like a charm, I've only ever needed 2 repairs over the course of my vacuum's life, but every time I have brought it in for repair & servicing (because it wasn't working correctly due to a blockage etc), I have received top notch care. This is THE PLACE to go for all your vacuum needs!

I have to say, this place is the best! So kind and polite, knowledgeable and they make you feel very welcomed. Kudos to Cecelia for her kindness and knowledge. Not to mention her smile...and a big shoutout to Andrew for his hard work and getting my vintage sewing machine fine tuned and working properly. Can't say thank you enough!

No one better than these folks for vacs AND sewing machines!I reroofed and had to disconnect & remove the central vac that Cathey's put in 20 years ago. Luis (central vac mgr) came out to take a look at it, said it was ready to reconnect & he wd add a coating to protect it from uv rays.He came today & reconnected everything, tested every outlet & it is perfect, just like new.Luis is professional, on time, does what he says he'll do - when he says he'll do it & does a complete & thorough job. He is also friendly, personable, fast and a wonderful representative of a superb company. Very pleased (as always!).

My family has been in Tucson for 160 years. My grandmother was a professional and avid seamstress. She filled in at Steinfelds and Cele Petersons when they had complicated alterations. She passed her talent to her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter. My mother purchased a restored Eureka vacuum in the 1960s and our family used only Cathey's for 4 generations. I went to Cathey's on Oracle, first time to this location, to look into getting a new machine. A gentleman entered just before me, but he was there to shop for threads, so I went to the counter and waited for two women to complete a transaction. The man who was shopping for threads found what he needed as I stood in line and lined up behind me. When the women completed their payment, I was next in line. But the cashier looked right over me and told the man behind me that he was next. He pointed to me and told her I had been standing in line longer than he was because he was gathering items. The cashier sneered at me and again blurted that he was next. I motioned for him to go ahead of me and he seemed confused, as was I, but thanked me. I walked out the door and left, and I promised myself I will never return. I was astounded a at the lack of professionalism of this cashier. People do not necessarily line up at the register according to when they entered the door. Some people are shopping for items and researching the products. Her attitude was unconscionable and she lost a 60-year patron.

I had purchased a used carpet-cleaning unit off of Craigslist and it wasn't dispensing water. I took it in to Cathey's, and they were so nice! The lady helped me carry the machine to the counter, and the gentleman disassembled the handle which had not been put on correctly. He quickly got the unit working, reassembled it, and told me there was no charge. They were so kind, efficient, and helpful! If I am ever in need of a vacuum cleaner repair, I will definitely go to Cathey's as a paying customer!

I have been to this store for so many things! I was there again today expecting I would need a costly, time consuming repair to my sewing machine. How wrong I was. In just a few minutes and a small part I was on my way with a tiny tiny bill. Would highly recommend this place! Their staff are wonderful each and every time I have been there!
