My experience here was a little bizarre from start to finish. I purchased a vintage sewing machine that needed servicing and called Cathey's in January. I was told they would book my ready date (March 12th) and just told me to drop it off "about a week beforehand". That process seemed a little backwards - why not tell the customer when they can bring it in and let them know when it's ready? So I dropped my machine off on March 4th, then got an email and call 2 days later on the 6th that it was ready. I was thrilled it was ready so soon, but it made the appointment process even more bizarre. When we went to pick it up, the man working was nice enough...until he started talking about how nobody wanted old machines and how anyone that did was "weird"...after I had mentioned to him this was my introduction into sewing and my first machine. He then blabbered on and on about how there's no market for old machines, you can find them for free, and the wood is worth more than the machine. All while I handed him my card for a $114 bill. My machine appears to be in working order and I'm glad it was able to be serviced, but I will not be back to Cathey's after being insulted. I know Cathey's is a household name in the craft community in Tucson and I wish their customer service lived up to their reputation.

I need a new electric cord for my 20 year old upright Vac. So I called for an estimate. I thought bought it would be less. The cord and labor would he 80 pct of full replacement. I don't like the cord but I don't hate it either. Guess I'll. Live with it till the unit fails.

My husband and I bought our very first vacuum together back in 2012 from Cathey's on Speedway (we were dating at the time). It was a big purchase for us to buy a Miele and almost 9 years later, the vacuum was still going strong until a small park broke the on/off button of the vacuum. We took it into Cathey's to take a look and they were able to order the part for us and get it repaired. They also serviced the vacuum for us during that time. The customer service here is always excellent. I couldn't imagine buying a vacuum from a big box store. Supporting local is so important and we plan on remaining loyal customers for many years to come.

After twenty some years our central vacuum died with no notice. A call to Andrew at Cathey's confirmed that they service central vac systems since our original installer has been out of business for years. They provide free estimates so I took the cannister in and got back a diagnosis and quote for a new motor in just a few days. Prices after 20 years should not have been a shock. They installed a new motor, cleaned the cannister and we were back in business in less than a week. Definitely recommend them.

Excellent and courteous service every time I had a problem with our Dyson hand vacuum. I had to bring it in several times and each time the technician took care of it promptly and expertly and deemed it minor enough not to charge, which is pretty amazing.
