I am almost afraid to write such a positive reviews, and result in a longer wait for the inexpensive, fine glasses Catalina optical provides. I have been a customer for several years and have half a dozen sun, reading, bifocal and designer glasses from them. There could not be a better place.

I was really surprised reading the negative review on this place. I have been using Catalina for years, have sent in my wife and kids in and have always had good experiences. These guys are masters at making new lenses and doing it right! They have not only built new sets of glasses but have also custom cut lens's to fit in my own cool frames (well to me they are cool) my wife says I look like a dork in them..what does She know? Anyway Id give them a try, its nice to find a shop that has really experienced people who really know what they are doing when it comes to your taking care of your vision.

It is Christmas week and I broke my glasses. These folks ANSWERED THE PHONE and lined me up for a repair. Even my regular glasses people didn't answer the phone. I am a convert. My husband has been a fan of Catalina Optical for years. As of today, I am too. Thank you so much.

I brought in a pair of frames last week to have new lenses put in. I picked them up today and had a terrible experience. Right off the bat as I'm waiting the owner told me a story of an artist who spent an hour looking at the frames in his shop and chose a pair of large chunky purple glasses with copper circles. He said he told her he wouldn't sell the frames to her because they looked ugly and she would appear ridiculous wearing them, they were just on display for fun. He acknowledged that she was really upset but he felt like it was his job to prevent her from being pointed at in public. Then as I'm trying to give him feedback about how my frames felt (super crooked) he kept arguing with me - saying they looked like they didn't need to be adjusted and when he made some adjustments but I kept saying they were still uncomfortable, he said they shouldn't have to be adjusted that much and even mansplained to me how to put glasses on and said I was doing it wrong. Basically repeatedly discounting everything I was saying about how they were uncomfortable, which shouldn't have been such a surprise to me after his story of discounting the artist's taste. I finally just said I'd like to pay and leave, and I told him I wished he would have listened to me about how the frames felt instead of arguing with me. He said if this was a failure it would be his first one in 51 years, which goes to show he didn't think how he treated me or the artist as failures. After I got home I noticed that part of the frame wrapping cord was sticking out from one of the lenses; I'm dismayed that the quality was not great either, especially at the price, and at this point I really don't feel comfortable going back. I don't know if he discounts what all of his customers have to say or just women, but I'm extremely tired of not being listened to and I'm leaving this review hoping that no one else has to experience this.

I had my first exam by Dr. Koralewski this morning. The exam began promptly and was completed within one half hour. Dr. Koralewski took great care in explaining each aspect of the exam as well as his findings. I highly recommend Catalina Optical, and will return next year for my annual exam.

So, after all the help the owner of Catalina Optical gave me personally with my own glasses I was very disappointed in the treatment I received when I brought my wife in to get some lenses for glasses she purchased in another city. What a letdown. We walked in and immediately he says jokingly (not jokingly) "no outside frames!". I laughed it off and we took out the frames she wanted lenses put in. He proceeded to give his personal opinion of the frames (which is not a big deal honestly) and tried to get us to find a pair in his shop that we liked. I tried to be nice, but we just didn't love anything they had at the time. After trying on a dozen pairs he kept on about how he didn't like the pair we brought in. He wasn't being nice anymore, just rude. We ended up leaving when it was obvious he wasn't going to help us with our lenses unless we bought frames from him. I'm really bummed. I really liked that place. Why did he have to be such a jerk?
