What can you improve is the question.....ummmm...burn it down and start over!From beginning to end, awful.Front desk little man was rude and terrible.No elevators to top level.Stinky rooms and beds. Old and unclean sheets.Save your money and buy a tent... cheaper, cleaner and more comfy

I am giving Catalina Inn in Catalina, AZ (a suburb of Tucson) a '1' rating for my recent stay with them. First, they denied there was a paid reservation for a specific room which I had made through a travel agency. Then after about 2 hours and a long phone call from the travel agency GVR they "suddenly" found my reservation. Upon arrival that evening, they had apparently rented that room to someone else, the one specifically chosen downstairs and easily accessible. All they had "available" was a room upstairs or a room downstairs. I am a disabled veteran in a wheelchair, though I do use a cane, I cannot navigate stairs. So I took the downstairs room that was offered. The bed & the TV were about the only properly functioning items in the room. DO NOT ACCEPT ROOM 106 if you stay at this establishment. They should not have even offered the room to me! The bathroom had a 6 inch hole in the wall on one side and mildew on floor and wall tile. Especially the wall by the door. The water spout on the tub was so loose it could be lifted off. It was obvious the cleaning lady only vacuumed the 'L' shaped traffic area as there was dust, dirt, trash, and even dead bugs in corners and under movable furniture. Two lamps did not work because there was no electrical outlet near them. But the worst item was the plumbing leak I discovered that night under the floor of the sink at the vanity counter. It is not caused by a leaking U-trap, but by a problem within the foundation pipes. So that water seeps up and into the carpet and adjoining bathroom wall when the faucet is turned on at the sink. The rug itself within a few feet of this area was full of mildew and mold and became saturated with water. I have a form of COPD and a artificial heart valve so breathing mold & mildew could cause serious harm to me! I notified the hotel management the next morning (as the night clerk "could not do anything"), stating that either they moved me to a comparable room or found me a room in a nearby hotel since we were going to be gone all day. And they did move me a few rooms down. Immediately noticeable was that the door to room 106 was propped open for the next couple of days and no other work was done. So the assumption is that this hotel will continue to rent out that room when they can.22 March 2023 Update: My review has been 'verified' and printed by other travel review agencies who have been in contact with the hotel management. At first all allegations were denied, then admitted. This hotel continued to rent out room #106 after I left! Hopefully the Tucson Department of Health will also pay attention to my complaint.

For a 3 star inn this is a great place to stay. The room was clean with all the modern conveniences. The breakfast in the morning is solid with plenty of choices. The thing I liked the most was the professionalism of the staff. They answered all of my questions through out my stay. The next time I'm in this area for hiking I will make sure I stay here again.

Filthy. Not clean at all. Garbage on the floor in the corner. I have no faith that they even know what clean is. Front desk girl very rude. Don't trust anything they say, get it in writing and document all your conversations with names of who you spoke to. I would NOT recommend anyone stay here. There are lovely hotels just up the road for the same or close to the same rates.

Old and dirty. Our first room was on the first floor. Gross! It was filthy, had bugs, the bath and bed linens were old and frayed, with stains. Rotted areas around tub. They moved us to the 2nd floor. The room was better, but a difficult climb for us. Still had tattered and stained linens. There are no laundry facilities on premise. Overall I would not recommend it.

I cannot in good conscience give this place a good review. The staff is friendly and helpful when asked. I stayed for 3 days. The first morning I woke up with a very itchy back. I thought maybe I had an allergic reaction, put on some Cortisone cream and went on. The next day I specifically asked the gentlemen at the front desk to make sure housekeeping went in and changed sheets, towels, bedding etc. I got back to the hotel and found the bed had been made but no sheets or towels were changed ( i could tell from a previous stain on the sheet). I went to the front desk and was told that housekeeping had left for the day and there was nothing they could do.That night I woke up around midnight, turned the lights on and noted about 15 bugs crawling around both beds. I killed the ones I saw and tried to go back to sleep. About two hours later I woke up, turned on the lights to find another 15 or so bugs around both beds. I took pictures of the bugs, packed up and went to the front desk. I was given a credit for the last night. The front desk manager stated he was immediately going to call his pest control guy. I will give this place a 1/5 rating due to the helpfulness front desk staff. The housekeeping staff needs help. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place until it gets fumigated.

I gave it 1 star as i stayed here before and it was below average.My own fault for giving it a secind chance. This time WAY worse. Toilet did not work. Room stunk, I could go on but those two are BIG. Not sure i would here fkr free...Next time will pay more and drive farther for decent place

We have stayed at the Catalina Inn 3 times over the last couple of months. The first time was a pleasant stay. Room was clean. The second and third time the rooms were clean and Rebecca at the front counter was helpful and kind finding a room for my elderly mothernlaw that had a walk in shower and seat for her. We would stay again.Ava "Cathey"

We should have read the reviews, but we learned the hard way this is not a good place to stay. The room was not particularly clean and they are using covid as an excuse not to provide breakfast although they are still advertising it.

I walked into the Room and decided that it wasn't for me I turned around walked to the woman at the front desk and asked her for my money back. She literally told me know. So I paid for a hotel Room then I never used. I honestly didn't feel safe at this location. There were people literally having parties and the parking lot I'm not sure if they even resided and the hotel. The hotel Room smelt like cigarrette smoke and the bedspread had black things on it. I really don't think I should have been charged for a Room that I didn't occupy for more than 5 minutes
