The doctor was great! The front desk people were not. I called twice in two weeks and left my name, number and DOB and asked them to call me back concerning my up coming cataract surgery. No one ever called me back. I went to my second consultation meeting and the lady that took me in did not give me her name. I tried to initiate some small talk and she completely ignored me. I told her I was there for further consultation with the doctor. She insisted that I was there for cataract evaluation which I had completed on the prior visit. She said I had to do it again. I did not like her arrogance and told her that I wasn't going to proceed. So I left the office.

Attended by Dr. Aziz who performed the operation of attaching a shunt to drain fluid from behind the eye which reduced the pressure from 30's to 12, arresting my glaucoma condition. Very professional, patient, and informative. Prior to proceeding with the operation the tech told me she was very good at that procedure, it was her specialty, and she had studied under a leader in the field. Also prior to the operation I asked Dr. Aziz how many of these procedure she had performed and she replied, "thousands". It certainly is believable from my experience.

This place is very difficult to find. Google maps tells you it's in the opposite side of the road. The parking lot itself is a giant cluster of madness. I finally located the office and came in to be greeted by very friendly staff. She hands me a clipboard of paperwork to fill out... mind you, I'm here because my eyes are messed up. The papers are small in front and has a few black lines thru the text! This made reading what I needed to fill out a big challenge. Hopefully I did it rightAmber at the front desk was calling a patient on the phone on speaker. Everyone in the waiting room heard the recording as well as her message that she left. Pretty sure this is a HIIPA violation. Be prepared to wait a solid 45 minutes from the time you arrive until the time you actually get taken back to see the doc.The eye doc himself is super informative and relays info to the patients so we can understand.

Crazy overbooking system. Almost had a waiting room riot today when all patients confronted the staff ( not their fault for the setup of the system) Staff acknowledged purposeful over booking and minimizing the info on the time process. One staff gal at the front desk today said ". hey let finish telling you .....) very bad interaction.

Dr. Polonski and Catalina Eye Care Have it AllIn the summer of 2023, I had cataracts removed and lenses placed inside my eyes. I'd worn glass since I was seven. I was now seventy. For the first time in my life, colors appeared brighter, edges crisper. My world was no longer framed with the rims of my glasses.Dr. Lynn Polonski, my surgeon, was extraordinarily competent and kind. The desk staff, nurses, Surgery Coordinator Ashley, up to the anesthesiologist who told me jokes prior to my treatment were all lovely. I feel deep appreciation for this powerful and positive change in my life from a competent, and caring organization.

Cataract Surgery Right eye 3/11/24 - Dr. V - was a pleasure to talk with, explained the procedure and follow up care. The office staff was well organized and a lot of fun to interact with.The best part is the results - OMG doesn't cover what you gain back in vision clarity, color and definition. Too see a leaf on a tree a great distance and actually distinguish each leaf vs a blurred canopy of dim color.Looking forward to the left eye surgery scheduled for the 25th...

I have been very happy with the doctors, but I strongly recommend you avoid buying glasses or contacts there. They charged me $482, in addition to the $100 my insurance paid, for 1 year of contacts, so the total cost to me and my insurance was $582. I found the exact same contacts at a reputable online store. They charged me $270, $100 of which my insurance will reimburse, and gave me a $30 rebate, so the total cost to me and my insurance was $240. That's a $342 difference. Catalina Eye Care charged 242.5% of the online price. That's insane. In addition, they claim you can pick up your glasses and contacts between 8 am and 5 pm Monday through Friday. I left work early on a Friday afternoon and got there before 5:00 pm. They were long gone. The doors were locked, the rolling security doors were down, the place was dark, and there were no cars parked anywhere near the place. When I complained about that, I did not receive any sort of explanation or even an "I'm sorry." Peter was cold and unsympathetic. So while I do recommend the doctors, I strongly recommend avoiding the optical boutique.
