This is a wonderful Bed and Breakfast! We enjoyed everything about it. The cozy bed, nice courtyard with shady seating and coffee, tea, and fresh baked cookies. The Hosts were lovely and the homemade breakfasts were huge and delicious. The location is perfect for anyone interested in seeing the Sonoran Desert Museum, hiking in the Saguaro National Park, or just relaxing in the beautiful desert.

What a wonderful, relaxing stay! We stayed for three nights because our son was getting married at an Airbnb in the area. We chose to stay separate from the wedding party to have a little space and quiet, and it was a great decision. At Casa Tierra we were able to relax and enjoy the lovely spaces. We stayed in Uno, and we loved the large private patio with beautiful views. We spent hours watching the birds and wildlife from the patio. Steinen is a lovely, warm host, and we enjoyed talking with her. The breakfasts are wonderful and very filling. We also enjoyed the thoughtful little touches like snacks and drinks in the fridge and warm cookies every afternoon. This is a perfect place to stay with a wonderful host in a beautiful location.

If you're looking for a beautiful B & B with fantastic breakfasts and breathtaking scenery, definitely stay at Casa Tierra. My husband and I stayed here back in December of 2013, when Dave Malmquist was still the owner and host. We were enchanted with the place and have wanted to go back to experience Dave's fantastic meals, friendly conversations, and beautiful property again. We had always meant to leave a positive Yelp review as well so that others would experience Casa Tierra for themselves, but recent events stopped us in our tracks: Dave was selling Casa Tierra. Our hearts sank, as we realized our window of opportunity had probably closed, and we might never again get to visit -- new owners could make the property a private home instead of an inn. We watched the real estate listings for several months, but once it had sold, we noticed that the Casa Tierra website no longer took reservations. We were crestfallen, and sadly gave up on the idea of being able to return to the lovely "Earth House."However, imagine our joy when we recently searched Airbnb for an upcoming Tucson visit, and saw that rooms at Casa Tierra were available! We quickly learned that Steinen and David Hurtado, the new owners of the property, were not only continuing the bed and breakfast business where Dave had left off, but were tending to much-needed renovations to parts of the place as well. We booked an extended weekend, excited at the chance to return and to meet the new hosts.Steinen and David could not be more welcoming, accommodating, and friendly. The property is now refreshed under their new management, and it's clear that Steinen's and David's efforts are focused on maintaining the same high-quality service, while preserving the architectural beauty of the inn. Utilizing reinforced designs that still manage to complement the desert aesthetic and overall style, they're ensuring the building lasts for many more years to come. There's also new mattresses, bedding, linens, and tasteful, complimentary refurbishments and decorations throughout the interior, exterior, and landscaping. While we loved Dave's thoughtful attention and care, it's wonderful to see that the Hurtados have the same dedication and passion to welcome guests to this beautiful home, along with an eye on renewing it. The breakfasts are still as delicious as before, the conversation with both hosts a delight, and our stay peaceful and relaxing. We are thrilled and delighted to see that Casa Tierra is in good hands, and can't wait to return to this amazing gem out among the saguaros.

If you're looking for a little desert sanctuary, this is a sweet B&B with the trimmings of luxury. The host, Dave, cares for his guests with amazing breakfasts, room preparations and a nightly gift. We were there for Valentine's and found a bottle of champagne waiting for us that evening. You are in the middle of the gorgeous desert environment where there are hummingbirds a plenty and we even heard coyotes at night! The mornings were so pleasantly spent with informative and warm conversation with other guests around the breakfast table. I even spent an evening in the hot tub watching the sun set.

This place is a gem. Dave is a wonderful host and a wonderful chef. The hacienda is enchanting. The nights are silent and the stars are brilliant. There is a gathering room with games and a tv (no tvs in the rooms - yay!) and a hot tub under the stars. I highly recommend this B&B! Can't wait to go back!

Casa Tierra is absolutely delightful. It's located in the desert west of Tucson, near Saguaro National Park and the Sonoran Desert Museum. Our room was extremely comfortable. Breakfast wasdelicious, with fresh fruit, home made baked goods and a different, excellent egg dish every day. Dave, the innkeeper, is helpful and friendly without being at all intrusive. The center courtyard is beautiful and facilities include a common room, piles of books and magazines and even an exercise room. At night, coyotes howl in the distance. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Dave was an excellent host. His property is beautiful and his hospitality is unmatched. With the advent of air bnb, the actual B&Bs are more difficult to find. Dave's place is not only authentic, it's exceptional. I highly recommend Casa Tierra for the ambiance, hot tub, clear, starry skies, and gourmet breakfasts.

This enchanting B&B was the best part of my trip. I got so spoiled by the desert view and the host's pampering that I longed to be at the B&B instead of sightseeing. Saguaro National Park was good and so was the Desert Museum and Mt Lemon, but I preferred the scenery and gorgeous sunrises from my peaceful relaxing charming quiet room. The layout of the building is perfect for privacy. This is not a converted home it is perfectly designed guest lodge. The location is incredible; right by all the desert attractions. Wildlife is everywhere. I saw coyotes, deer, a roadrunner, and even a Harris Hawk and other raptors thanks to my favorite part of the trip--a session with Sky Island Falconry right behind the B&B. Steinen went above and beyond every day insuring I was comfortable and stuffed with her delicious cooking and abundant snacks. She is so considerate, and she dedicated so much time to making my visit wonderful. Just loved everything about this place.

If you are looking for an authentic B&B set in the middle of the Saguaro National Monument desert, this is the ONLY place to book! Not only is the property amazing, but the host Dave is a great cook and very personable. He goes way out of his way to make every guest happy. Can't recommend it highly enough.
