An easy landing spot for exploring Bisbee. Located on the Warren side of town, the guesthouse has a charming exterior, with plenty of garden space and off-street parking. The interior has a classic Victorian B&B feel -- a little dark and creaky but also quiet and spacious. The breakfast is straightforward, freshly made but without frills (e.g., no cheese for eggs/omelet), and the French toast was a highlight. The only major complaint was that a key is provided for the main house itself but not for the individual room -- there seemed to be no way of locking our room upon leaving it (a sliding latch is affixed to the interior but can only be implemented while inside the space). Assumably any other guest could enter our room while we were away. Host Joy is knowledgeable and friendly, and we appreciated the suggestion to visit Whitewater Draw, a nesting area for thousands of sandhill cranes.

First of all, if you are going to Bisbee, AZ, you need to adjust your expectations prior to your visit before judging what you will find there. Study the history of the town and the mining industry. Next, study the history of what was left of the town when mining left and before the art colony moved in. With all of your new found knowledge in mind, go ahead and book a stay at the Calumet & Arizona Guest House. The B&B is impeccably cleaned and lovingly maintained by some very loyal, dedicated, and pleasant employees. The morning breakfast is wonderful and filling, and you can fill up on whatever and however much you want. On the weekend we stayed, the choices included pancakes, French toast, eggs, homemade granola, homemade quiche, among other selections. Also, juice, coffee and tea were available, and everything was cooked to order either by the owner or an experienced employee. We were encouraged to eat as much as we wanted, and we could choose as many items as we desired. As for the venue itself, you will need to evaluate yourself before staying here. If you are comfortable with dogs and cats inhabiting some portions of your personal space on the property, you should be fine. Also, if you are fascinated by history and personal photographs as well as an eclectic assortment of photos, curios, and kitsch dating anywhere from the turn of the century to the 1960's, you will absolutely love the Calumet & Arizona Guest House. Look carefully. There are plenty of hidden treasures to be found! One item of note: in the main building, some rooms share bathrooms in a "Jack and Jill" fashion. If this is an issue with you, clarify before booking your room.In conclusion, if you are looking for a sterile, contemporary room like the Holiday Inn or another name-brand chain of hotels, this property is NOT it, and you should absolutely not stay here. If "clutter" bothers you, even if it absolutely clean, don't stay here. If you are a minimalist, stay in Tucson, and make Bisbee a day-trip, because there are no chain hotels/motels to be found here and you will be disappointed no matter where you stay. On the other hand, if you want to enjoy your trip to Bisbee with an overnight stay in a quiet residential part of town, the Calumet and Arizona Guest House is a wonderful place to experience the re-creation of several decades of Americana gone by. It is obvious that the owners embrace history in general, family history, and the history of Bisbee. Go here with open eyes, and you will LOVE your visit. We did.

Its so unfortunate that I had such a bad experience because I picked this place based on its Yelp reviews. To start I made my reservation in April for Oct 14th and 15th, during the Bisbee 1000 stair run. When I made my appointment it was for 2 nights in room 2 which is $60 + tax a night. I asked the woman exactly how much that would equal for the 2 nights and she said $135.66.Today is Sept 27th and I received a VM on my phone. It is someone from Calumet saying that I have to send them a check for the full amount and they have to receive to by Oct 3rd! Not only that, the VM said that my charge is now $180.88! I call back and I get the manager on the line and she says yes, that I am required to send the full amount a full 2 weeks before I even show up for my reservation! I told her that this was at no point explained to me when I made my reservation (which I had written down and was looking at) and she said she was sorry but she needs me to send them the full amount to keep my reservation. I would also like to note that no where on their website does it say that customers are required to send the full amount 2 weeks before their reservations (I included a screenshot of their website to show exactly what their payment policy is). I told her that no other B&B or Hotel I have ever stayed at has ever charged me the full amount before I even showed up. She said it was because she has a lot of no shows. I told her I was willing to give her my debit card that she could charge if I didn't show and she refused. I then offered to mail a deposit but she refused that too. Full amount or nothing. Or her exact words, "Sorry you feel that way but you can either pay or cancel your reservation." THAT IS CRAZY!!! I tried to be flexible but NO WAY am I paying full amount 2 weeks in advance. So I canceled. So yes. This is a review for someone who didn't even get to stay at the B&B but the service was so horrible and sketchy that I felt it necessary to post a review. So the moral is just use AirBnB if you are looking for a more low key stay in Bisbee because this place is not worth it.

The Calumet & Arizona Guest House in Bisbee, Arizona is a stunning, quaint Bed & Breakfast that I highly recommend when staying in the town. My husband and I were lucky enough to stay in the house - Room 6, which can be viewed online. This spacious, luxurious room can barely be put into words. It comes complete with a huge, cozy king size bed; old-fashioned typewriter and sewing machine; a VERY well-equipped, spacious private bathroom with a full shower and toiletries (even a great blow dryer!); along with sitting areas to include (my favorite) - a dressing mirror with an antique mirror containing a hand mirror, brush, and comb for a very upscale antique GLAMOROUS feel :).Joy, the owner, and her staff are wonderful. The grounds are stunning - equipped with a barbecue, outdoor and indoor sitting areas, refrigerator and freezer for guests, a koi pond that has the most beautiful fish I've seen! And we haven't even got to breakfast yet!The attention to detail for this house, which was completely restored since its original build in 1906 in the booming mining town, is simply amazing. The breakfast (included with our stay) was nothing short of fabulous. There were so many fresh, made from scratch selections that were delicious. Calumet house offered us: fruit salads, small savory muffins of ALL different kinds were passed around, and options of eggs, bacon, cottage fries, homemade granola, toast, quiche, crepes - some of the best I've seen - filled with scrambled eggs with Hollandaise sauce, eggs benedict, pancakes, and more homemade jams than one could figure out what to do with! Simply stunning. Our stay is the first of many. We really appreciate the warmth and history, restoration, attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, and would recommend it to ANYONE visiting Bisbee. For baseball fans out there: Calumet House is situated near Warren Ballpark, which was built in 1909 (before Wrigley Field!), and is one of the longest stadiums still in use! We went to a great Farmer's Market there complete with live music and lots of great fresh produce and wares.Stayed September 2015

Absolutely exquisite. The owner, Joy, is just that...a joy. She is a beautiful, hard-working, charitable woman, who is generous and gracious enough to trust her home and all the beautiful artifacts in it to the general public. The home and the gardens and grounds are gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The environment is extremely quiet, as it is off the beaten path. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Indeed you will be inspired and rejuvenated.

We booked the Calumet and the house next door for a family reunion in Bisbee. The accommodations at the Calumet were better than in the house next door. The rooms were certainly not as clean as they should be in both locations. The showers had only had only SoftSoap and no shampoo, conditioner or lotion; so should you stay here be prepared to bring your own. The grounds are nice with several seating areas for a variety of groups, however, the furniture is old and outdated. Although it is a B&B I'd recommend skipping the breakfast! The service and quality of food left a lot to be desired. We chose not to eat there the second morning as we had such a bad experience the prior day. We often stay in B&B's and this experience was far below our expectations both in accommodations and services.

Place was awesome. Girlfriend booked a couple days here just to get out of Phoenix for a bit. Met joy and Kim and they were super nice. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was 10/10. Other house guests were super friendly as well. Would recommend this place for sure.

This is my first review on yelp. This is a beautiful place but we were disappointed with the comfort and amenities. They had a sign that breakfast was going to be served next morning from 7-8 am but NO breakfast was served. The mattress was horrible. I had to sleep on the floor because it was very soft, it was like sleeping on a huge pillow. No television in room, the floors with squeeked, every step and the doors weren't secure. We had to share the shower and toilet, although we did have a washing area (sink). We stayed three nights and paid over $300.00. Again, this is a very beautiful place but would not recommend it as a B&B. It would make a great museum though.

We arrived at the Calumet & Arizona Guest House as a result of lack of other lodging options. This part of Bisbee is about 3 miles from the cute downtown. While the house itself was remarkably clean and looked like an Edwardian era snapshot of the Smithsonian museum, the porcelain dolls that decorated every square inch of the building were just a tad startling.I slept well, however, and the other guests in the house seemed to enjoy the accommodations. The breakfast that we had been promised...the breakfast. Goodness. First of all, the help in the kitchen was storming out of the house while we were being seated, setting the mood for what was about to be the worst meal experience I have ever been subjected to. The quiche: smelled sour, was odd in color, and seemed fresh as of 2016.The coffee: again, fresh as of four years ago, tasted as though it was used to put out cigarettes. The eggs: I prefer mine cooked.A simple disclaimer: we are easy to please. In no way are we writing this review out of spite, but rather to warn others. In short, sleep here, don't be afraid of antiques, and politely decline the breakfast option.

We came to Sierra Vista/ Bisbee for a graduation. We were visiting with our grown so n who has never stayed in a B &B. The house is several miles from Bisbee downtown. It's beautiful! The gardens & the house. It's very clean & you get several choices of breakfast items. We all had the eggs stuffed into crepes. They made fresh decaf just for me. They brought out mini muffins and had 12 kinds of jam. It's a lovely place. Filled with tin ceilings, original light fixtures & antiques. I had great photos - no place to add them.
