"Flam Chen is one of the most awesome performing groups I know of in Tucson, Arizona - or elsewhere for that matter. No one handles fire like they do, but they also do it with incredible costumes, a dark style, great music and sound.I have seen them at a few events, but they are really well known for their performances for Day of the Dead.If you get a chance, I HIGHLY recommend them."
"Arizona Ballet Theatre is a cute little ballet studio. The owner is extremely kind, at first I thought I was talking to one of the other family members of a student but nope, they all act like family here which is awesome. Everyone I have encountered has been very friendly. There is a small sitting/waiting room where you can watch the ballet sessions if you are just there to observe which is pretty neat. Sometimes it gets a little crowded inside, and even parking can be tough but I've never had to leave on either. They also have some little toys that the other kids can play with. There are two dance rooms and I believe one bathroom. They offer several discounts, including military. We enjoy this studio. Cory is a good teacher."
"I am a pretty harsh critic of arts ESPECIALLY those that are "christian". I have seen how this organization runs and have seen other theater groups/schools.... This organization is second to none! I am from larger city and seen what larger cities have to offer.... This group and their teachers provide detailed instruction that goes above and beyond. Christian is nice in name AND they are about the highest quality. It was AFTER experiencing a show when we decided to put our kids into this program. AND we could not be more impressed with the VERY high level of professionalism and quality."
"This place is so amazing to have free movies for kids in the summer! It was a life saver for me since I've been nannying this summer! Mon-Fri @ 10! Check online to see the summer schedule :)"
"You could have two left feet and you will leave there a dancer and not just any dancer, a good dancer. The Staff there is amazing and the owner is the sweetest person in the world. Also the women in the office knows everything about everything. I have no problem taking my daughter here and having her dreams to be a ballerina come true!"
"Once again, top orchestra seats for Hamilton at $10.00 per ticket! The Hamilton website lottery pool. Tucson was as far as we were willing to drive if we won again; 500+ miles (the Mrs. won the Las Vegas Lottery a few years back). She was a winner once again, and this fell right during our anniversary celebration.Centennial Hall is basically part of the University of Arizona. Only fully vaccinated patrons are being allowed entry, and vaccination cards and a photo ID are required. The theater is rather dated but spacious. And the staff are quite strict about individuals coming forward to gaze into the orchestra pit. Some were quite upset after being asked to step away. We were in the second row.As for the performance; acceptable, considering both male leads; Hamilton and Burr were being played by the understudies this Sunday night, 11/28/2021. But I thought they handled their roles admirably. The orchestra was outstanding. This marked our fourth Hamilton; Los Angeles, Orange County, Las Vegas, and Tucson in that order. We're still putting in for the lottery every week. Outstanding musical score if you've never heard it."
"2nd time in this space. We saw "Little Woman, the Musical". Unique, intimate space, a black box in The Tucson Mall. As brick and mortar shopping areas decline, this is an excellent use of the space. The theatre has good acoustics and good sight lines. The Rose does eclectic stuff as well as locally written stuff and draws cast and crew from the very talented local arts population of the greater Tucson metropolitan area. A very pleasant way to experience live performance and support the arts."
"Our daughters performed at this venue for their holiday show. It was clean and everyone was very friendly! Great view of stage from all seats"
"What a fun spot! I have attended many shows, but with COVID-19, it's been 2 years since attending a show. This is an improv theater with multiple troops which perform. The theater offers classes and puts on multiple shows on Friday and Saturday. I went with my husband and another couple last Friday to the 7:30p family friendly show. At $8 for an adult seat, it's well worth it. They sell concessions, so drinks and candy are available. The website will give updates on special shows coming up. There generally are family friendly shows and the later adult themed show at 9, with perhaps bad words, or adult topics allowed as part of the skit line ups. My favorite skits include the Dating Game, and Late for Work. This evening's show was all musical with Cy on the keyboard. I first learned of this venue years ago, as my friend with cancer started attending to get a little more joy after starting cancer treatments. Since the shows rely on audience feedback it's all about the audience. The troop is so talented, I highly recommend checking out a show. If you decide to attend two shows the same night there is a discount! This is a Tucson Treasure"
"They love the kids. Great staff. Not a snobby dance place which is what I really liked. Most I have been to are way to strict (they're kids)."
"Last night was my first visit to the Tucson Symphony The imposing Brutalist exterior of the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall isn't visible from the street. It's tucked away a short walk off of Church Street. Here is last night's program:Carl Maria von Weber: Oberon OvertureMaurice Ravel: Mother GooseEinojuhani Rautavaara: Cantus Arcticus, Concerto for Birds and OrchestraIgor Stravinsky: Firebird SuiteI was here for one reason: Rautavaara. Cantus Arcticus was the first work I heard by this Finnish composer years ago. It's an ethereal wave of sound; such a haunting piece that is backed by the soundtrack of Arctic birds. It's rarely played by American orchestras so it was thrilling to hear this in person. Every time I hear it, I feel as if I'm standing in a frozen landscape. The only drawback to this wonderful experience was the limited acoustics of the hall. The space doesn't match the quality of these talented musicians. Is that a reason not to go? Not at all. There is another performance tomorrow. If you have the chance to attend, please do. Hearing this rarely played piece is an incredible experience."
"Sadly this excellent small theater group doesn't have much of a venue; they deserve better. Although the chairs are better than most. Given the space, the acting, directing, set design and lighting are really good. The play we just saw, How the World Began," is challenging because it stays so focused on topic. Bravo!"

We moved to Tucson from L.A. and I was looking for a studio for my daughter to continue ballet. This studio is perfect. Miss Cecily is a brilliant teacher. She is so good with kids! I have seen major improvements in my daughter's form and in her understanding of movement. My daughter loves going to class. The community there is friendly and welcoming. The parents speak to each other, which is wild. It is one of those special places that you'll be so glad you found.

I went to see a show at centennial hall and was not super impressed. I bought a regular seat, but it turned out to be right next to a wall that significantly obstructed the view of the stage. I'd go again, but beware of these seats....

I have had a lot of fun at this place, every time I have visited! It is a kind of loosey-goosey slapstick production so be prepared not to expect an actual play or well organized production by any means.. This is the charm! It's okay to they a laugh at the actors and actresses- they encourage it!!

"This group has done so much to draw my shy daughter out of her shell. Cheryl Ann Rossi is so energetic and fun, it's infectious. The performances are great, but the focus is on quality education education in acting, voice, and dance."
"Great place to watch an event! The fresh air, fantastic sound system, clean and big bathrooms, easy parking, decent prices make for a super cool place to enjoy a concert or show.On the grounds of Camino Del Sol hotel, which is a nice place to stay, I might add. I'd definitely take advantage of the 80s Hair Band nights again, plus any other band that piques my interest. Very happy with my experiences here. Thanks and CHEERS!!"
"I love when we get to come here. It's a ride from Phoenix but such a cute place and great shows to boot. Our only issues from Phoenix took us 2 1/2 hours each way. But once you are there the fun begins!A great professional show that is well produced and acted!"
"This band really gets you moving and shaking! I always enjoy seeing them play! All the members are wonderful musicians!Don't take my word for it, book them for your gig, or come see them play!"
"Delightful little venue, recently renovated (Feb 2024), where the UofA theater, film and TV majors put on their plays and musicals. Typically there will be 4-5 plays, divided between fall and spring semesters. Tickets (12/2024) are $32 no matter where you sit and they are all pre-assigned at time of purchase, but all 300 seats are very good. There's no transaction fee if ordered online or in person at the box office. If done by telephone there's a single $4.50 fee per order (regardless of how many seats are bought) but you get to handpick your seats via phone. Parking is tough but nights and weekends the Park/Speedway public garage is free and less than two blocks away. Bathrooms are clean, spacious, elegant. And there are ample sitting areas in the lobby and also semi-shaded outside (for intermission or early arrivers). Two drinking fountains inside but no concessions. Students get 1/2-priced tickets and seniors get -$2 off."
"We went to the 90's Watermelon Crawl Country Night here this past weekend and had a great time. The country band was good and the dance floor was large. We tried their watermelon themed cocktails which were really awful. Should have just stuck to seltzers or other mixed drinks."
"What a truly wonderful and amazing dinner and entertainment experience!!!!! The talented magicians were exciting to watch, and the fun and surprise of their illusions left our entire table awestruck. We failed at solving the mystery, but we were not disappointed - we still had a marvelous time trying to figure out the whodunnit. The food and service were beyond compare, and Dante's Fire lived up to its incredible reputation of deliciously prepared food and cocktails. What an incredible night!!!!!!!"
"Of course, the number of stars has to reflect the performance not just the facility. Tonight we were wowed by Artifact Dance Company. Not only the choreography and dancing but the live music and the conceptualizations. Even without that bravura performance, I would give this facility high marks. Not only is the stage and orchestra pit more than generous but also the sight lines and acoustics are excellent. The seating is much more comfortable than most university theaters or in fact privately owned ones. My only slight quibble is I wish parking were a bit closer. Still, the garage prices are reasonable and well this was just a stellar evening."
"Great way to workout and learn an international dance. The teacher is well-knowledgeable about the various types of belly dancing based on the various countries. She makes sure the student knows the techniques before going to an advanced class. The gift shop has so many traditional wear. Even if one is too shy to try belly dancing yet, it is worth checking out the gift shop!!"
"This is an INCREDIBLE studio, where anyone can come to take all level classes anytime. The faculty is AMAZING and so ready share. I love teaching and taking here. Where life moves...."
"Arizona 01-2024 Tony and I went to the OK Corral in Tombstone Arizona where you have to pay an extra fee of $15 per person to watch them recreate the famous shootout with Wyatt Earp and his brothers Morgan & Virgil Earp with Doc Holliday against the outlaws. You can go inside the building and look around for free and the re-inactment is 3 times per day."
"We came for the opera. Handicapped seating is limited but the hall is a grand old place reminiscent of those days when every small city in America wanted to have a palace of culture. Truly a lovely spot with some nice acoustics. Bravo, Tucson, for maintaining this gem."
"Beautiful building. Excellent Theatre in staging area. Comfortable seating with excellent sound system. Nice lighting and staging of plays. It's nice to have such a wonderful facility here in Green Valley so that we do not have to drive all the way into Tucson.I look forward to attending more performances and would encourage you to join me."
"The front desk lady is so rude and racism, has no respect to students. She talks to students like she is a big boss, doesn't care anything but herself. Her desk is so messy with all paperwork, not organized at all."
"Extra, extra read all about it.... Broadway in Tucson has partnered with Yelp! Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. You read that correctly, free Broadway shows for Yelpers and a guest. Isn't that just the bees knees?! Make sure you get there on time, as Centennial Hall has a six minute hold once the show begins. Plus, if you get there early, you can grab a beer or wine outside. No alcohol is allowed inside. Every seat in the theater has a great view. Last year I was way up front for the tango show and recently I was in the Mezzanine/Balcony for Flashdance. The seats are also wide enough and are nice and cushy for your tushy.I think this partnership is genius and extremely generous. I can't wait to see more. Crossing my fingers that they extend the free tickets to the upcoming Alton Brown appearance. And I'm still sulking that I missed Jack Hannah last year.Afterwards, we were invited to a private party at Wilco with the cast! I was all like, "I'm so fancy"... well as fancy as one can be stuffing her face with those amazing herbed fries!"
"This small theater is one of the joys of Tucson. When in town we always try to get to one of their witty and sophisticated productions. We have been to 6 or 7, and they have never disappointed. The current production , Arcadia ,is outstanding. I wish we could see it again before leaving town. By the way, they always include live music."
"Best dance floor in Tucson. Would go there more if they started dances earlier. It's across town for us and we are seeking a nightlife scene. We just want yo dance."
"Have been taking guitar lessons from Dave for several months, and I am so happy with them. He has a master's degree in music and is so knowledgeable about all things music, and especially the guitar. He is flexible and personable. I am an adult student and have made more progress with Dave than I have with other teachers. Definitely recommend!"
"So I have been to 4 shows here, and I am now taking the Improv 101.I was thinking I was going to wit until after I finished the class and had my showcase to write a review, but I'm not.I had been wanting to take an improv class for a long time, because it is always good to try something new. I had looked around to see where I wanted to go and decide in virtue of the overall feel of excitement. The dynamic between the audience and the troop. The shows are only 5 bucks and worth every penny. Go and enjoy, it is a lot of fun!!!"
"Another example of why we love Tucson. Small and out of the way, this theater has been around for half a century and continues to be fresh and relevant. They offer provocative plays that are well acted. Even though the stage is small, the atmosphere is big and welcoming."
"Jazzy little ensemble with a wide repertoire - I'd totally hire them for an event to keep people on the dance floor. At Yelp Tucson's "Wrappatizer Party" they had stuffy just-got-out-of-work types swing dancing to a Michael Jackson hit."
"Having spent a few years living in Japan, I was expecting just what I saw. Simplicity, attention to detail and educational information. I do love the Japanese culture. There are different gardens and areas to explore. Various plants and bushes/trees around the garden....I used a plant identifier app to help me know what I was looking at. The gift shop is amazing and cheesy at the same time. I would go visit again, and bring a book. There are plenty of quiet shady places to just sit and enjoy the silence."
"This studio has been around for years, run by Ames Alma Delores. She is truly a class act, highly respected Woman, teacher, mentor and business owner of our community. She has no mean bone in her body. And has extended her heart and studio home to me and my family. I love every time I've been able to step foot into her studio, as both a student and an instructor. Thank you Alma for what you do in the community, and for the members of My family. Thank you for allowing us to become a part of your Families, and for also becoming an extended part of mine.
