"Tucson Strength is the best! Always keeping the training going, putting the members first! Mental health is very important to many who workout. During this pandemic, we needed a place and Danny + team provided it. No smoke in mirrors here folks, just outstanding management, an abundance of equipment and constant innovation. I love the outdoor tents and the indoor space as well! I moved to Tucson recently and I enjoy calling it home."
"New members. A very typical gym. Loads of equipment. Loads of people. Bright. High energy. I saw alot of folks respectful of wiping down equipment after use. Thats nice to see. The GM, Erin, is a can-do person."
"Shawn & Sherry run one of the finest gyms in the Southwest. I was in town for a couple of days and gave Shawn a call to see about getting a day pass. He and Sherry set me up quickly and I was able to get an incredible workout with the many machines and free weights they have available both inside and outside. I can't wait to get back to town again for my next sweat at AZ Street Fitness!!"
"ABOVE PAR! Wife and I have dined her a total of 4 visits. Sunday brunch, 2 dinners and 1 lunch. Service exceptional. Food quality exceptional. Big bar. Do not like the Clubcorp 20% service fee. After dues and higher prices plus tax and tip it is excessive. Applies to ALL Clubcorp properties not Oro Valley CG only."
"Friendly and knowledgeable! Is the best way to describe the trainers and staff. Whatever your fitness level or limitations they will be able to help and improve your strength and mobility. I was nervous as I'm not in the best of shape but within 5 mins that feeling left me and I was "doing it" and feeling good about myself."
"Time for an update. The NW YMCA maintains its high marks. Well maintained facilities. Great cardio, circuit and weight equipment. A gym the size of two basketball ball courts. Smaller exercise class rooms, a pool and child care facilities. Many programs for all age groups. Friendly, educated staff. I use the Y for exercise. And while there are closer for profit gyms to my house, I support the Y's non profit mission. For example, the picture I posted with this review is of the Y's solar energy shade structure. An example of people oriented, forward thinking and economic sense. Thanks NW YMCA!"
"Hank and Danny have established an amazing facility! Friendly staff, clean facility, and all of the equipment necessary for a great workout."
"I scouted several gyms around town before joining Cochise Health. Some of the positives were the cleanliness and good condition of the facility, good variety of machines and free weights, dedicated cardio area, and offered several of workout classes. The yoga classes are wonderful and the instructors are laid back and easy. They also have showers (open not private stalls), hot tub, sauna, steam room, and an outdoor pool. Military discount is available."
"This place was honestly just wonderful. I went to a spin and stretch class last night and walked out feeling so refreshed. The spin class was tough but in a good way - it was well cued so you knew what to expect for each phase and the instructor was motivating but not over the top. It was a super approachable workout.Whoever thought of adding a 30 min yoga class as the second half of this is genius. The idea of a slower, super stretchy calming yoga session after an intense ride is so nice. It was exactly the right balance. The staff was all so kind and welcoming too, noticably so. I loved the vibe and the options here - even though it's a bit of a drive, I'm definitely excited to become a regular!"
"I have been working out at Lowell Gym for almost 9 years now and I can tell you there is nothing fancy about this place. It embodies what I like to call "Old School Iron," as in most of the equipment is older than me but is still holding up. There are plenty of bars and plates and dumbbells so even the most hardcore weight lifter or bodybuilder can get a killer workout. The bathroom could be nicer and I wish there were bumper plates and a platform for Olympic lifts. Other than that I love this place; it is my second home."

(I am submitting this review after working out at TS for a little over two weeks now)Since I will be staying in AZ for a period of time, I wanted to find a gym that would suit my needs and help me with my short term powerlifting and fitness goals. I cannot say enough about how glad I found Tucson Strength! When I searched the interweb for a local gym, photos of the equipment, layout and other members is what first caught my attention. Next, once I had a chance to meet the owner and his staff, and see the facility for myself, I knew this would be a good fit for me.The equipment and facility are very well maintained. There are classes, machines, weight apparatus, and other notables for every type of person at every kind of fitness level with a goal in mind. The best part of it all, everyone works along side everyone else. You get to see all of the trainers interact with all the clients which gives you first hand experience to how this gym and their personnel operate. I have worked with the owner, Danny, for three sessions as of this review and am looking forward to his assistance over the next few months. I look toward each session as a learning experience and a brief view to what my body is capable of. There is a sign outside this business that relates to this not being a $9.99 a month gym. That's right, it is not a $9.99 a month gym. No truer words are spoken than "You get what you pay for" when you sign on at Tucson Strength. Leave your ego at the door, come in, get your workout done, enjoy some conversation if you see fit, make a friend or workout partner, then leave sweaty and happy. Repeat!

It's always clean when I've visited. Friendly staff always greets you when you come in. People are friendly from what I've seen so far.Steam room is amazing. Sauna room is amazing. Both are clean. The pool room has a smell to it. Sometimes stronger than other days.

Just joined the Oro Valley and Arizona Sands Clubs. This small club has a luscious green, with mature landscaping. The staff is SUPER friendly and helpful. Dropped in for lunch and had a monster club sandwich that was among the best I've had in Tucson so far. Bread toasted perfect, bacon crisp, and produce was fresh. My server Nicole was outstanding as well. The entire staff is an absolute delight - adding charm that tops of members experiences. They greet many clients on a first name basis making everyone feel at home. This isn't a resort style country club. It's just a nice small laid-back establishment, full of delightful people, and a wonderful green well manicured golf course. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a nice meal, a great round of golf and just relax you have found your place.

My wife goes to this gym, while I work out at home, I know you are thinking "why are you posting if you don't work out here? My wife's motivation and confidence in her ability has vastly increased. The joy she now has with her exercising is directly linked to the gym staff. They use positive reinforcement with proper techniques and cater to those with injuries. Yes, it helps that they are Physical Therapist that care about your over all well being. Happy wife happy life.

Great gym with class options all throughout the day. Christi Jess and Julie are awesome with the 5am crew! Spin and boot camp. Class changes everyday! Jenny is great with bodypump and Desiree is fab in barre and low impact high intensity cardioClass. Definitely something to check out. I pay $50 and it's a great value for all they offer. They also have pools, a weight room plenty of cardio machines and other machines. I've been coming for the last month and have enjoyed all these classes.

I finally feel at home! I have been faithfully attending Buena Health Fitness for 6 weeks now and all I can say is "woo hoo!" This place has such a variety of gym goers that it doesn't matter your fitness level you feel welcome. I also love the fact that they have a room for the kids to hangout while parents exercise. They have plenty of equipment, clean bathrooms, the facility plays nice non obscene music at a normal volume, and the hours are awesome!

SV has many gyms. I've tried three. This one is by far is the most well stocked, fully functional... without the unnecessary daily generational drama, gym. (Gym bunnies/selfie dudes are everywhere... just stack your weights back and show common courtesy) This is the ONLY gym that offers two different saunas (dry/steam), plus jacuzzi...plus a three lap pool. The front desk staff is exceptionally helpful and respectful to all. Con/wish list: the concept "if it ain't broke...." Applies...However... in keeping with the latest... maybe add a TRX, more kettlebells... hip thruster machine... replace some of the older rusted equipment with new, but come up with a better layout vs over clutter...take an inventory of attachments and replace/add... upgrade the water fountains with filtered water....small upgrades even like a paint job inside as well as outside goes a long way.

"If I could give this place a zero I would. They have charged me a return payment fee of $30 plus a $3 statement plus the membership fee. Not once but three time I'm this last month. I called they said they fix it but today I woke up to another $30 return fee. This is incredible! Don't trust this. It's shady and not right."
"Great family owned and operated gym at a very reasonable price. Jaguar Fitness by far beats out planet fitness and all the CrossFit boxes in the area on my opinion. Yes it is not be as big as the CrossFit boxes or planet fitness. They have less equipment, but all their equipment is in great shape, they also have everything you need. Remember this is a true gym at a very reasonable price not a health club or jungle gym."
"Don't let the age of this gym stop you from giving it a chance. Yes, the building itself isn't the most modern. However, the people and the equipment are top notch. The workers immediately know your name and make you feel welcome. So many of the people know each other and encourage each other. It's a great workout community without any of the unpleasant pressures of doing more than you are ready for. There are also plenty of spaces to make your own space to stretch or meditate. I love this gym!"
"It offers all that you could want in fitness center, including free weights, a multitude of machine weights, treadmills and other specialty machines as well as various group (centergy, yoga, power, blast, kick and spin) classes. The group activities are offered at various times throughout the week which make them very convenient. The center, including the locker room areas, are always neat and clean and the staff is friendly."
"AmaZing gym and great place to work out. I am in the healthcare field and wanted somewhere that's 24 hours. This place has great vibes and atmosphere and super friendly. Met with the owner Keaton , who went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcomed to the gym. I also got a personal trainer Robert who is helping me work towards my post COVID body. Check this gym out! 24-7. You can't beat the home town feel with the prices and summer specials."
"When I first started coming to the Ott YMCA, I was so dissatisfied. Problem after problem, from closing the pool for no reason, to kicking me out of the pool while personal sessions were allowed, to lack of communication between staff... HOWEVER, after complaining and expressing myself over email and in person, they actually made changes! I now go here anywhere from 2-5 times per week to take the exercise courses, swim, or lift. Exercise instructors Jerry and Sandi are so encouraging. Jerry especially provides numerous versions of a workout to accommodate each person's ability. He also asks questions, like if we have had any injuries, so that he can provide even more alternatives. One of the lifeguards Erika deserves a shoutout too! I haven't seen her in a while, but she helped me improve my swimming with simple tips, and really builds you up. The best thing about this place is that it's also family friendly. I love coming here. :)"
"TRC is finally under new ownership, and I'm glad I returned. Staff and management are attentive, and it makes a difference. I don't ask for much from a gym-keep the pool full, the hot tub hot, and the weights heavy. Yes, it is still the same ol Racquet Club, and I mean that in a good way. They didn't try to make it something new. The new management simply added love and attention to the facility, and you feel the difference as soon as you walk in. I DO miss the towel service, but I'll survive. Thank you to new ownership!"
"I thought I had written a review of the Y, I have been a member here since 1993, and I remember when I was a kid going to the ground breaking ceremony of the Y in Lawton Oklahoma. Since my youth I have spent immeasurable amounts of time at the Y, from day camp, to overnight camp, ski trips, Saturday mornings, swim lessons both adult and youth.I have paid for my youngest nephew to go to Y camp (and will continue to do so). I cannot imagine my life without being a member of the Y, I might go through spells of working out more or not at all, but all the same it is a great organization and keep coming. Spending time at the Y, for youth and adults is like going to the library, everybody should belong and participate. The Y is a way of life."
"I've taken a couple of classes here and had different experiences. I do not recommend this place to go and learn a new style of dance as a beginner. You are treated like deadweight. Teacher said, sorry we can't do what we normally do since we have to help the new people. Made us feel very unwelcome and disliked. We had some practice before going into the class, I can't even imagine going in there having zero practice. But... I really enjoyed the workout dance classes. Loud music, full of energy and fun dance moves... you just go go go nonstop. You'll definitely get your sweat on. I would go again, and recommend to anyone looking for a fun workout that doesn't feel like a work out!"
"$30/month to work out on outdated, poorly maintained equipment. They don't repair broken equipment, and currently can't even replace the batteries in the wall clock- it's been dead for a few weeks now. I only work out here on the days when I am not working out with my wife at Planet Fitness, which is a much nicer facility and charges half as much."
"Excellent excellent facility, after school program and swim team! During our last year in Tucson we had 3 kids in 3 different schools spread apart in opposite directions. We needed a solution for school pick ups and were so glad to learn that JCC did pick ups from the 2 schools our boys were enrolled in. The afterschool program was something our boys looked forward to. They made friends with kids from various schools around town. There were many activities and time for free play. They loved it. I had our sons enrolled in swim lessons at the J for a while. The great thing is, I did not have to personally take them to the lessons... the afterschool program staff would make sure that they were there for the lessons which made things so much easier for me! It was all very seamless. They even had homework help, which we took advantage of on a weekly basis.Eventually, all three of my children got accepted to swim for the JCC swim team where they learned how to swim all 4 strokes competitively. Our kids loved Coach Marika and Coach J! They were trained so well that they are now swimming for our local team in Honolulu! We are not Jewish, but I always felt welcome at the J. I had friends who were surprised that we joined the J as non-Jewish people. I guess the name makes it seem like you need to be Jewish to join? It's such a well run facility where the staff know your kids by name. My children were safe and very well taken care of. I was thankful that my children were taught about the Jewish culture and religion. They got to learn about various Jewish values, events, and were even mindful about not bringing pork products to the facility we were guests at. And they always begged me to buy challah bread on Fridays :)"
"A great for climbers of all ages and skill levels, but I particularly felt very welcomed and supported as a beginner.First time climbers at this gym will have to fill out a waiver (you can fill it out online beforehand) and do a short orientation. The routes are color-coded for difficulty/skill level. They also host classes such as yoga and pilates and they have a small training area."
"I absolutely love Glo. The owners are amazing. They truly care about there customers health & wellness. There is a great variety of classes to choose from. It's a beautiful studio and I love I am so excited to be getting my #Glo on!"
"Strictest, but most organized and filled with the fittest people I have encountered at any gym! The gym splits up into 5-6 different sections/rooms. They have a racquetball court, a giant basketball court, 1 cardio room, 1 cycling room, 1 free weight room, 1 mixed free weight/weight machines/cardio, 1 mixed cardio and weight machines, 2 crossfit areas. It will take a lil bit of time to get a hang of where everything is at, but after that, you're golden. They offer everything and more. There are rules that you're supposed to follow (no cellphone usage, dress code, etc...), but unless you're obnoxious or just outright ridiculous with what you're wearing to the gym, no one would say anything to you.Everyone is very nice and courteous. The only gym I have been to, that every single person have the courtesy to put back the weights where they got them from. You will not see any dumbbell or weight plate laying around where they're not supposed to.Best MWR gym I have been to! And best gym over all!"
"The main recreation center is in line with the reputation of the University of Arizona. State-of-the-arc facility that includes an ample amount of cardio equipment: elliptical, arc trainers, treadmills, recumbent bikes, stationary bikes, stair masters, and row machines. The facility includes two separate basketball gymnasiums with a total of five basketball courts. Four racquetball courts, an Olympic swimming pool, a massage station, outdoor volleyball, pool and ping pong tables, and so much more! The reason it doesn't deserve the maximum five stars is because much of the equipment to work out the body are outdated. All the cardio equipment is up-to-date and I don't know why there is inconsistency with some of the other machines. Regardless, this is a center that can match any fitness goal and cater to different needs and interests. Plenty of exercise classes to choose from! If you are the general public, then you won't be able to call this your gym. I'm sure if that was the case, thousands of more people would want to work out here. As for the students, alumnus, and employees of the UA, get the most out of your association with the University and commit to fitness at the center!"
"This is a really nice gym, clean and with a friendly, helpful and professional ambiance, owner Che is a great guy who knows his stuff!I always work out here when I'm in the Tucson area."
