"A Saturday afternoon, and getting hangry. Tried another place in town, and couldn't get any service. Drove right over here, wasWelcomed and seated right away and placed orders. We both knew what we wanted, in a Greek restaurant, gyros!Very pleasant waitress brought our gyro dinners which included a large serving of good gyro slices, a mound of rice, a smaller mound of very tasty carrots, and a nice little salad.Service was let's say, relaxed! We don't mind waiting for freshly made food.Everything was tasty, ample and pleasing. Old school ambience fitted the small town atmosphere.Living in Queen Creek, it's an easy drive, and worth it. We will be returning."
"Came in to this place for lunch and work- which was great because they had wifi. The place itself is decorated with middle eastern vibes/modern- cute. The place wasn't super busy and the service by the man at the front was kind and tentative. I ordered a platter to try a couple of things and I was very happy with it. The meat was cooked just right- not over done or anything"

"I come here sometimes if I don't bring lunch when I'm occasionally in the office. This gyro spot opened up recently, maybe a few months ago. It's great! My favorite item is the spicy gyro- the one called piccado. Very nice, it has jalapeño peppers for a nice spice. The firefighter one is very similar but has grilled red peppers instead. Both good. Service seems to have sped up since the first few times I went, it was very new back then. The staff is friendly. The place is clean and has plenty of seating. I just noticed the second level of seating today so my coworker and I ate up there. It's perfect as an office lunch spot so I wouldn't come out here unless at work, but if you're in this area at one of the nearby offices, or live nearby it's a great option for a quick and tasty meal. Didn't go crazy with photos, just a few from my meal today."
"I found Cafe Mix when lunch plans a friend suggested sounded bad (outdoor only when it was 119°), so said friend told me to suggest some other place in the area. I scoured the general area looking for restaurants. Cafe Mix fit both of our dietary requirements (hers vegetarian, mine omnivorous), and we both like Mediterranean food. So we met here. I arrived early, and I was hungry, so I ordered the dolmades. They were really good. Service was super fast. When my friend arrived, I got a gyro without onions. Everything was fantastic. Their hummus is good. I really liked the gyro meat.I can't say I'll be back because it was so far from where I live, and I have a Greek restaurant by me, but I do recommend coming here if you are in this area."
"Finally found a great place in our area!!Fresh delicious food, clean and cute inside, the atmosphere is very calm and warm. The service is great, get are always welcoming and cheerful up at the front!*Greek Salad tasty and fresh*Beef Gyros very good*Gyro Combo this is what we get every time we have eaten here*Mediterranean fries are so amazing!!!But to be honest everything on the menu looks amazing."
"Such a cute place! I ordered the Vegan Wrap and it was really good. Big portion size and lots of fresh ingredients. I thought it was a tad dry, so next time I'll ask for extra dressing or hummus. Looking forward to trying all the vegan options!"
"The food was fresh and was pretty good. I got the chicken shawarma salad and it was huge (for over 10$ it should at least be that, mind you!) with a very nice portion of meat and salad and veggies. It was very filling.I didn't look at the menu (gasp!) before arriving and was a bit caught off guard once I was inside looking at the menu while being so very very hungry (the girl at the front counter seemed indifferent to my questions). I had just made a long drive from the other side of town to this side of town and really wanted beef shawarma but they only had chicken shawarma. The ambiance is good, clean place, efficient but nicely decorated. I think the staff could've been friendlier but that's minor at this point."
"Mary had a little lamb and shared the shank with jon...and everywhere that Mary went, jon brought his fork along. Have been here many times as the food prepared by Chef Azad is a delicious culinary feast. One can see and smell the freshly prepared aromatic cuisine upon walking in. Always on the premises cooking, preparing, overseeing it all, is Chef Azad making certain food and excellent service is spot on. Plates ordered since finding this hidden gem:The *lamb shank plate is amazing! A large shank so tender, moist, and delicious with bountiful rice and salad to accompany any size hunger. *Chicken Schwarma filled with flavor cut right off the turning rotisserie. *Gyro plate so tantalizing makes you want more!*Large Greek Salad comes overflowing with goodies. Please see the photos of delightful goodies!Have always ordered to-go but I love seeing families dining in this cozy restaurant.Easy to find with plenty of parking. Enjoy!"
"This restaurant serves delicious and very affordable Mediterranean Food. I ordered the Lamb Chops and Gyro Salad. Both meals had incredible flavor, and the portion sizes were enormous. The staff were very helpful and friendly, I highly recommend this restaurant."
"Stopped by here randomly while waiting for a work appointment, and I got their Gyro wrap with some fries. The fries were very good but the gyro was one of the best I've ever had!! Highly recommend the gyro wrap. The place seemed clean and the seating is nice. The service was good too, very friendly :)"
"We have ordered from here a few times. Every time we order, the food comes quickly, perfectly prepared and still hot on arrival. I'm looking forward to actually visiting the restaurant to see if it is as good as the food is!"
"I went with the gyro and it was fantastic. The meat was flavorful and moist. The pita bread and sauce were very flavorful as well. My table was a little dirty from the previous guest so hopefully they can check the dining area more frequently in the future."

I've lived in Florence for nine years now and only recently tried Mt Athos, which was really a shame because the food was excellent. I believe that it's because I'm not really into Greek food,so I just didn't give it a shot. But they do pasta, burgers, liver and onions and so on. So don't wait, give them a shot. I am sorry I didn't do so until now.

Tried Niro Gyros for lunch this week and ordered the gyro lunch combo. My colleague mentioned how good this place was when he use to work near this location. The food came out good and service was too. Lots of seating but not super busy inside for lunch. A lot of folks seemed to be ordering to go.

We've watched this place develop over the past few months and finally had a chance to come have dinner. Met Danny and Dennis, brothers and owners. Their parents own the other location in Tempe. Danny said it took about a year to get the place up and running. It's bigger than you think! They have a whole upstairs space set up for dining as well and you can fit a good size group for dining. You are met with a huge wall mural of Chicago on the main wall, which is awesome. The family is from Chicago! They have a big menu with many of the traditional Greek foods. We decided to split the Supreme Plate, which comes with steak, chicken, and gyro meat. The steak and chicken are grilled to perfection with the perfect amount of seasoning to bring out the juiciness of the meat. And their gyro meat is awesome! Long strips of perfectly cooked lamb and beef, cut from their huge loafs of cooked meat. The plate comes with some choices and we had the rice and chose the lentil soup and then ordered a separate side of Greek fries and Greek salad. Ok, so I already talked about the wonderful meats...the rice! OMgosh...the rice is cooked to perfection with seasonings that include sumac, which was so yummy. And the lentil soup? Ok, so we are officially hooked on the soup! It has a light curry-like flavor and almost reminded us of pea soup but it's made with lentils. Thick and creamy with bits of lentils and seasonings throughout. I think this soup will become a regular thing in our home! The plate is also topped with onions and tomato chunks, sprinkled with paprika I believe. Danny said the onions are seasoned with some lemon juice I think? My wife loved them and said they were so much better than the pickled ones you typically see. We had two pieces of warmed pita which was soft and perfect to wrap your meat into. The garlic sauce was great...just the perfect amount of garlic to make a tasty sauce and not knock you over! The salad is fresh, covered with feta, green bell peppers, and a tomato slice and the Greek dressing is fresh and good. We actually brought the salad home! The Greek fries were cooked to fried perfection, sprinkled with feta and comes with some of that delicious Greek dressing, which I poured about half the container on mine. So, so yummy!Their baklava is perfect! You are given a good portion and it isn't too sweet or soaked in tons of honey. It's buttery, just a tad of sweetness and crunchy with the chopped pistachios. Overall we have to give a 5 star review for this place. It's incredible and awesome and I hope they do well in the location. They are surrounded by businesses so their lunch crowd should grow in time...especially when word-of-mouth spreads. Our favorite new Greek place! Thank you so much Danny for talking with us and we wish you and your brother the best of luck! You deserve it!

My son and I visited on Thursday. I rarely go to lunch. We were celebrating. He loves Greek and I'd been eyeing this spot when in the area. We didn't have to wait long to place the order. They have plenty of seating. We were served quickly. My son scarfed his down and said he enjoyed the meal. I was able to eat mine for lunch and dinner. My only complaint was I wish there had been more than one olive in my Greek salad. I wish there would've been baklava or some other Greek desserts available, too. Food was good, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant was clean.

A small family owned restaurant serving good Greek food. We ordered the gyros plate, gyros sandwich, and their trio's appetizers. Let's just start off with the gyro meat (5/5). For newbies, basically it's a blended mixture of lamb and beef like a meatloaf but instead of baking, it's cooked on a spit with their seasoning. Even with the lamb, the meat was not gamey and doesn't over power the beef. The trio has baba ghanoush- roasted eggplants, hummus, tabouli-parsley/lime salad. (5/5)Affordable- definitely coming back for their portion side and price target. Sorry forgot to take pictures, was hungry after our hike

Pro-tips: If you're placing an order online, do not do it through Yelp, which is through GrubHub because there's an up charge. Instead, just go to the Spitz website and order directly from them.Highlights: I am a huge spitz fan! I've had them in several states and I was so excited to see one in my hometown. The food is delicious! I love the flavor combinations and the healthyish ingredients. You can't go wrong with the street cart wrap. Compared to a lot of similar Mediterranean casual places, Spitz is a much better value.Lowlights: I don't love traveling to downtown Chandler because of the traffic and limited parking, so I do wish it was in another location.

I love Mediterranean food and Arizona Pita is the best I've found since moving to Arizona. The gyro wrap was good and reasonably priced. The only bad thing was the actual pita is really thick, and split as soon as I started eating it. The employees were helpful and quick, bringing the food to our table. The layout of this restaurant is a little awkward but they did their best, it's just shoebox shaped so you can only do so much. We will be back!

After living in Maricopa for a year we finally tried this place. The food was good and the price was right. If you never had Greek food before this would be a good start. This is more or less as I would say fast food Greek. I don't think you would be disappointed if you go. The people are very friendly. So go try a Gyro and pronounce it right.

"I've been back a few times since my initial review and this place has grown on me! My 5 year old and husband would easily give this place 5 stars so I'll round up for them even though I'm more a 4.5. I don't love their dolmas or spanakopita, but their salads and gyros are so amazing! My husband ordered the pork chop once and it was cooked perfectly with a generous portion. Our family will definitely continue to come back and try more of their menu."
"Hubs and I worked up an appetite after watching a movie nearby. We decided to check out Phoenicia Cafe. We were greeted and seated right away. The space itself is quite spacious and bright, with plenty of available seating. We ordered the following:Arabic coffee $4.99Shrimp ghallaba $18.99Gyros pita $10.99Baklava $2.99The coffee was fantastic. It was strong and unique. I really liked it. My entrée was the shrimp ghallaba which had shrimp, peppers, onions, tomatoes, carrots and rice and hummus. It was flavorful. The portion was quite generous, and I had to take some of it to-go. Hubs had the gyro and he said it was okay. Before leaving, I just had to try the baklava - we ordered it to-go and proceeded to eat it in the car on the way home. It was delicious! In fact, we wished we had ordered two!"
"Pleasantly surprised with this little gem! I was able to order ahead and pull through their drive through which made it super easy to get during lunch time. The quality of the meat was very good and the gyro was filling and delicious. We also ordered the baba ghanoush which was equally as fresh and delicious. This is a great spot in the east valley for Mediterranean."
"I really liked my gyro sandwich, fries, and the fattoush salad. The salad was a lot bigger than expected so I had a good amount of leftovers. The gyro meat was tender and well seasoned and the fries were hot, crispy and not greasy. The salad was fresh, all I needed was some tzatziki for the pita pieces. On the night that I went, there was only one person working the grill and one person fulfilling the rest of the orders, so we waited a bit to order as well as receive the food."
"We ate here the first night in the area. We had the basic gyros and the baklava. The gyros were priced similarly to most Greek restaurants. The size of the gyros was large. Definitely got our money's worth. The staff was ver personable. The restaurant is decorated in a modern vacation-like motif. Very clean. The baklava was decent. I'm not a connoisseur of baklava. We are in the area for the winter. We plan on visiting again soon."
"There are a lot of restaurants that don't transfer their awesome qualities in a "to go" order, it's a calculated risk patrons take. In this family run business, our risk paid off deliciously. Mediterranean menus are daunting and I am the least educated on this flavor platform, but my gosh, if you love good food, beautiful flavors and healthy eating, put this place on your happy map!We are making more thoughtful choices in our food these days with our fitness, health and just wanting to feel good- the hummus alone, was a reason to keep coming back! The meats are all sumptuous the salads, fresh, breads, perfectly done rice, we ordered many items to try, check pics!"
"Greek salads & gyros are our favorite here! Authentic Greek food. So yummy! Only complaint is you get a very small container of dressing for a large salad and to get a second small container, are $1 each. A little high for such a small amount. However it won't stop us from going back!!"
"My new favorite Mediterranean restaurant! You pay at the front and then servers bring food to you. They even gave us free baklava. Food is a great value and tastes fresh. Good variety of options and quick service. Indoor/outdoor seating with a family casual vibe. Come to the west valley please!"
"Yasou Gus and Maria! Wonderful authentic Greek gyro. Lots of meat, delicious tzatziki! The pizza is perfect. We will return and make this a bi-monthly affair."
"I've been here a few times and the food is quite good as is the service. The ambience isn't great. I think the prices are unreasonably high for a place like this. Yesterday was the first time we went there since it was no longer byob, and actually carried a VERY limited selection of adult beverages. One white and one red wine is not the answer. Not to mention the fact that the white which we tried, was not anything I will ever want again. Furthermore, to charge $45 for said wine is an absolute travesty. $160 (with tip) for three people is ridiculous for a simple little place like this and the only way I will go back is for takeout. Forewarned is forearmed."
"This restaurant and the gyro platter has been on my mind every day. It has left me with such an impression. My friend recommended this place while I was in town and I was blown away by the authenticity and flavors of the menu! The platter had a variety of items- pita bread, hummus, Greek salad, beef slices, and Tzatziki sauce. I finished the whole meal- I definitely could eat it all day, every day. The staff were friendly & attentive. I wish I had a place as good as this back home!"
"We've eaten at The Great Greek Mediterranean restaurant a few times now and have done both carry out and dine-in. The restaurant always appears very clean and everyone has been very friendly.I've had a variety of items now including the chicken skewers, shrimp skewers, rice, feta fries, Greek salad, etc. my husband has also gotten the gyro sandwich. The food is where I feel like they lose points .. shrimp wasn't super flavorful, chicken was just okay. While unique, the feta fries were bland but also a bit dry. The gyros sandwich was pretty good; I did like the rice. If I return, I'll be sticking to chicken (maybe gyros) & rice. I haven't tried the falafel yet.Overall, the regular items weren't too wow-worthy. If you're going, keep in mind prices are high ($18 for a plate with chicken & sides)."
"You have to try this place to believe it.Family owned and operated , great local restaurant that serves the freshest and tastiest shawarmas. They also have a cute patio.Service is warm and friendly.Love the gyros, souvlaki, Baba ganoush, Greek fries.I'm a fan of the secret shawarma sauce and tzatziki All the dips are full of flavor.Don't forget to grab some baklava for dessert.Cheers!"
"We tried this new place in the Superstition Springs Mall Food Court. Even though we ate close to closing time, all of the food looked very fresh. We enjoyed the beef and lamb gyros as well as the salads and the yellow rice was very nicely seasoned with saffron. We will definitely be going back SOON!"
"Definitely a hidden gem! I actually peaked into the front of this place once before and thought it was just a store with decorations. I later found it in a search and wanted to check it out because of the extensive menu. So happy I tried it! The menu is HUGE! Seafood and pastas and meats and salads (19 different ones!) and pitas (25 different kinds!) and more. They also have an extensive wine and beer collection. It was totally empty when we went in on a Tuesday at 5:30. Both of our dishes were super good. Really amazing flavors and fresh. The Salmon La Scala had a great dill flavor and the Lemon Cilantro Linguini was soo lemony, just like I like it! I will definitely be going back to try more dishes!!"
"As being half Greek myself, I'm very picky when it comes to great Greek food. And I can positively say that this place nailed the tastiness and selection offerings of amazing Greek food. The menu had a wide array of options and ample serving sizes. My family and I decided to visit for lunch and while the restaurant was busy, service was still good. Also, I love the interior decorations of the restaurant-really transports you to an Ancient Greek temple kind of vibe. We ended up ordering the meze platter, the spanikopita, the Greek salad, lentil soup, chocolate cake, and rice pudding. Everything was delicious with decent portion sizes. We ended up having plenty of leftovers! Coming from the Phoenix area, I'm sad that this restaurant is about a 2 hour drive one way, but honestly it's that good I would drive there again no problem."
"Friendly greeting by young lady at counter.Ordered lunch to go for Wife and myself.Gyro w rice and gyro w fries. Side of rings and side of zucchini.Gyros were very good, plenty of meat and nice soft pita. Rice was good, fries very good, again generous portions. Not so great Onion rings. Premade and store bought. Nothing special. Same for zucchini, but they tasted good.Casual comment and my humble opinion only....this place has good food, but is not inviting me to eat in. Dated and kind of shabby. This area is about to grow in population by thousands of new homes and most of these people will be looking for good eats!We will eagerly return for take out gyros!"
"Stopped for lunch after visiting Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. Comfortable outside seating. Veggie pita (feta, grilled onions, cucumbers, lettuce and tzatziki sauce ) and the falafel pita with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious . Great service. Very good find!!"
