I came in for an ingrown toenail problem. Dr. Shih was knowledgeable but talked too quickly when giving the explanation of how they treat ingrown toenail. I'd been dealing with it for a couple months already but it wasn't getting better, so I decided to go ahead with the recommended procedure to remove the ingrown part of my nail. I asked a bunch of follow up questions but I didn't really get answers I needed. I was expecting them to provide me with an instructional sheet on how to take care of my toe after the procedure, but they provided nothing. They did sell me a surgical postop kit which they said would speed up the recovery time. But I am now 3 days post surgery and my toe is hurting badly. The doctor mentioned there's usually no pain after the procedure is done. I find that hard to believe. They said nothing about pain management or what to do in this case. I have a follow-up appointment in one week but I will be calling them before that. I hope they can provide better information than what was provided right after my procedure. I was hoping for a better outcome overall which is not the case.
