Stone Z. "Sweet little place with vegan sweets! I think it would be neat to have some paper menus since I felt a bit awkward staring at the one next to the register (maybe there was some though that I didn't see!) I can also see them doing well with a pay it forward program. (The bottom line in detroit did this- people would pay for plain black coffees that those who couldn't afford could have some caffeine. I know around this area there's a few homeless folks and i feel like that spirit of giving would fit the communist sort of thinking?) Very laid back atmosphere, lots of books to read. I really enjoyed reading a small segment of a queer punk / queercore history book. I may get it next time. I would hope post covid to see prison letter writing meet ups and more here. It seems like it would make a really neat leftist community space. More zines would also be pretty cool, like Quimbys bookstore. There's tons of zines on leftist revolution. Overall great shop. The vegan peanut butter blondie today tasted like raw PB cookie dough w chocolate chips. I can definitely see myself coming back here. Maybe to put a few introductory crime thinc zines up at the front flyers (where I'm told you can take them- there's newspapers and such too)"

Stephanie V. "@dandelioncafebakery was truly an oasis we stumbled upon after visiting the @tucsonmuseumofart and @oldtownartisans It was an incredibly hot day and the pre-monsoon humidity bore down upon us as we shopped in the un-air conditioned artist and merchant colony. The friendly clerk @oldpaintrecords let us know that this cafe was just across the street and we quickly found it and relief from the sun. Most of the other restaurants were closed for the summer or until 4pm. This cafe has good air conditioning and restrooms. The coffee and tea is amazing! And we decided to grab the last three sandwiches in the grab-n-go by the entrance. It's like they were waiting just for us. The Beet and Chèvre sandwich was so delicious - sweet beets, fresh baked local focaccia delivered to the bakery that morning, spicy arugula, a drizzle of balsamic, and of course, thick sliced creamy piquant chèvre . I thought it was perfect but my daughter wanted more balsamic. The Italian was tasty and just right according to my other daughter. Just look at these sandwiches! I want one even now. We swooned over the small details like the parchment wrapping and paper tape ("like we're in a Ghibli film"). Lastly, I just love dandelions and so does this café obviously. The vegan oatmeal cookie we shared was also sooo good. The services here was incredibly friendly and welcoming, we lingered as long as possible at the little white painted iron cafe table against the front window. Did you know that the name Dandelion comes from the French 'dent de lion' translation: lion's tooth from the toothed edges of the leaves? Things I learn in Master Gardening Class"

I always get the Cali Club on sourdough with crinkle cut fries and a large drink. It used to cost just under $8 but they recently raised prices and now the same combo comes in at just under $10. Still an incredible value for the quality of food and how much you get!I hear their burgers are equally as amazing and I hope to try them one day, but I'll have to get tired of the Cali Club first because that is one tempting sandwich!"

Other drinks I've enjoyed are the iced honey lavender latte and coconut matcha. They have small food options like pasteries, muffins and bagels. It's cool that they stay open until 8pm and have beer, wine and NA options! Our server was the chefs daughter and she was as sweet as can be. I ordered the Roadrunner breakfast with my eggs over medium, most restaurants can't seem to get over medium eggs right but the chef nailed it perfectly!! My husband ordered the western omelet and it was delicious. The blueberry pancakes with prickly pear syrup were divine and huge! The other thing that needs to be good is the coffee and it was. I also recommend the home fries, they were crunchy on the outside and creamy soft inside, addictive!! Great food and great service!!"

I got the breakfast biscuit with one single egg (wasn't given option for how to prepare it), bacon and way too much cheese.Let me start by saying that the biscuit was so monstrous it definitely needed the option for multiple over easy or over medium eggs. My single over cooked egg didnt cut it and wasn't cooked well (in my opinion).I used hot sauce as a vehicle to add moisture. The bacon was good bc how could you ruin bacon, that's tough. There was wayyyy too much cheese in the sandwich though and I left the entire bottom of the biscuit bc it was too dry to get through.Add in the zero booze, I dunno, I just wasn't happy about that either. This place is fine. It's not horrible but it's not amazing. It's a solid three stars."

Also, $2 off flights.Number of people eating: 2 adults and 2 children.Atmosphere: Very clean inside and inviting, wasn't busy at all for 12:30, few families eating. Music they had playing was at a comfortable volume. It was relaxing and AC worked well so it wasn't hot inside at all. They have a nice seating area outside as well if you choose. Staff: Got greeted right away, seated quickly, our waitress was Ciarra and she was absolutely lovely and checked on us frequently and was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. There was 2 other guys working and they were very friendly and nice as well. Even had couple small conversations with them as well. Food: 1. Carne Asada Benedict: Little spice to it, perfect eggs on top, very very delicious! Fries were fresh and hot and the ranch was very good with it! 2. Waffle with toast: Very tasty, waffle was nice and airy with a little crunch to it. Kiddo loved it and ate all her food which is rare 3. Veggie Omelet: Added mushrooms to it. Was tasty but needed salt, overall very tasty. The biscuit was fluffy and tasted really yummy! The hasbrowns were so-so. 4. They have a Breakfast buffet and a lunch buffet and close I think at 3 pm. The ladies running the place are very nice and friendly. Desert is homemade cinnamon roll and they will heat and add butter for you. It would be hard to improve on their operation. Fresh made ice tea, lemonade and coffee comes with meal. Everything is included and no surprise added charges, Cash or check only no plastic. I never give 5 stars but they earn it. We were going to have lunch and I called to check the hours, was told they were not currently serving lunch but might in the future. Would have been a long drive for no food."

Marc L. "I found this to be an excellent airport cafe. Restaurants at airports tend to lean toward the "diner" route with lots of greasy selections and not much imagination. Runway 5 Cafe presents a higher-tier experience, with menu items that reflect the owner's tastes. So you have familiar fare, but fresher, with better ingredients, and an innovative slant. The cheesesteak grilled cheese is only one example. The breakfasts are fresh, hot and tasty. The sandwiches are top-notch, and there are some unique menu selections. The place is brand new and I think it's still ironing out the kinks. John- the owner- didn't have any help when we were in, so he was juggling a lot. You may wait a little longer than a greasy spoon. They don't have a soda fountain yet so it's cans and bottles, but that's hardly an issue. Service is good in that John really cares about the food and his clients. It's a breath of fresh air. I wish only the best for Runway 5 Cafe. Flying in and having a great meal Is always a pleasure."

Busy AJ and East Mesa favorite located on the North side of Apache Trail.Parking is largely an unmarked dirt lot on the east side of the building with a few paved Handicap spaces. Atmosphere is dated country kitchen with a fair sized dining area with tables. Unfortunately this place is crazy busy for good reason so expect 30+ minutes waits during peak hours.Group and large parties can reserve the party room in the rear. This area is staffed separately including bar service which is where our Red Friday's group used to meet. Menu is breakfast, lunch and dinner with all day breakfast. My pick and their patrons favorite is the Biscuits and Gravy. An order is all I can eat. Rob J. "Locally owned, they seem to miss the mark on what 'should' happen here, but I appreciate the 'fresh' designed meals over the American fried options everywhere. Recommend: Not really, but not against it either. Options in Oro Valley are slim and this is why I think they could certainly improve on what 'should' happen here. Clean up the grounds...Food selection was limited, flies literally everywhere so one hand is used to eat, the other for fanning flies. Be prepared. To get to the back patio seating, you go through a chain fence and immediately seen lots of broken items on the ground. Very unappealing visually and a deterrent in relative to a quaint, eating location. Signage is poor and seating limited to outdoors. As a plus, they have a few lattice awnings over you and an attempt at a water-fall center piece with exposed wiring. Eclectic in designs, I'd offer that they improve the visuals... There is a market attached but zero communication from Wait Staff towards recommending to stop in and sole restroom is inside past the kitchenFood was tasty if not and simple flavored, certainly not amazing nor bad... The menu is great as it has breakfast in the morning and does lunch at lunch time but does breakfast all day regardless. The breakfast menu is a classic diner one with shredded hash browns. The pies are a delight here. They have many different pie slices every day. I went to lunch with someone who ordered actual lunch and I got breakfast and they had everything available on the menu for both. The owner was our server and she was incredibly friendly, polite, and helpful. They were very busy at 1200 on a Tuesday. I would definitely go here again. Also, they have Cholula and Tabasco for those worried about hot sauces. I know there are a ton of mom and pop shop diners that serve breakfast, dinner, and pies and so many of them are good, but this one has heart and they stay very busy. I was extremely happy with portion sizes of my breakfast and lunch including the sides. You can always go to a well known spot like Denny's or IHOP but you just aren't going to get the same service and love in your food like a diner like Margie's. I will definitely be going back."
