Taric W. "Real shitty dive bar, but the establishment has good staff, and the building has good bones. So maybe it's not that bad? What I liked: Plenty of TVs around. Plenty of booth seating. 64 ounce pitchers at great prices. The semi-enclosed patio dedicated for smoking that has the pool table in it, which I bet is a big hit in cooler months. I was here on a quiet, spontaneous date, and the rest of the clientele seemed to be a bunch of sad, single men in their 40s and 50s, playing old music on the jukebox and ogling the bartender, who was admittedly really funny and a natural at her job. Just know the vibe you're getting before you visit. They have a kitchen that's open late night, and it served me the worst pretzel I have ever seen. But for some reason I could still envision myself ordering another while really sloshed some day. That is the true spirit of the dive bar."

Louise B. "Early dinner at 3PM and dining room was half full already in the heat of summer; definitely a good sign. Stone's throw from Vail but in the middle of seemingly nowhere is this local Italian gem. PASTAService was great and all the food was excellent, especially the ravioli, perfectly cooked al dente and enough sauce to see you through leftovers if you didn't snarf it down in one sitting with 6-8 large ones. Hubby got the Portabello and I the ricotta with 2 meatballs. Not sure if made in house but it's very fresh and texture appears so. Meatballs were medium firm, garlicky and herbaceous, and delicious. $16.95 for both dishes and amazingly also served with a yeasty firm dinner roll with butter that comes out with the water, and choice of soup (Italian Wedding or Pasta e Fagioli) or salad. We tried the Fagioli which was excellent, again perfectly cooked beans in a flavorful medium dense tomato broth. On asking for dressings, Caesar was an option and waitress asked if hubby wanted to make that a Caesar side which he did. Receipt showed later a .75c crouton & $1.50 cheese upgrade, so that was a sneaky hit. Dressing had pronounced anchovy flavor which my partner love loves but it wasn't worth the upgrade, and definitely the weak link in the meal. Will stick to the normal salad in future or soups which are stellar.SIPSOddly for an Italian restaurant they did not have Campari on a full bar to make the beloved national fave Negroni, so hubby got a standard Old Fashioned $13 -$2 for Happy Hr, which I did not recall seeing on the menu and -$1 on $10 Whisky Barrel Aged Cab made for Argz's that was yummy. Guests had a Hot Italian Roast Beef Hero $12 which was packed full of thin slices and as a Midwesterner he devoured it in delight; and a huge plateful of chicken alfredo $20.95 that would easily provided seconds and possibly thirds for a lil bird hahaCounting my calories and days to get to this slice of Little Italy deliciousness in Corona de Tucson, Ciao Bello!"

That kitchen gets busy and everything comes out great! I do believe that next time I will ask if they can double fry or extra crispy-fry ours. Their beer selection is great, they even have $2 beer of the day! On the day that we were there, it was the Miller High Life! Ice cold! Keep them coming!!!Clean and plenty of spots to grab! Taric W. "I get that South Tucson has a rep for being really scary, but you would never deduce that after a fun evening at Saint Charles Tavern. It's spiritually a sort of dive bar, but you'll second guess that with the dozen or so craft beers on tap, or variety of high quality liquor. On some visits, I get myself a nice Red IPA, and on others, one of Hendrick's seasonal gins with some tonic and fresh citrus. If you're lucky, they'll have one of their small batch cocktails ready to order, like Sangria or Rum Punch. The bartenders here have some underrated skill and could probably expand a real cocktail program if they put their minds together. Billiards inside. Spacious seating outside. Live music almost every weekend. It feels more 4th avenue than 4th avenue does, and I wish it were closer to downtown. Aside from its location, there's really nothing more you could ask for."

Connie G. "I've driven by this place plenty of times in the 18 years I've lived in the area, but didn't stop in until three weeks ago. I couldn't stay long, though, because this place only accepts cash.Today I came prepared. I met a friend there at 1pm. We sat outside on the spacious, covered patio while a local band was tuning their instruments, getting ready for showtime. We had our dogs with us, so we sat as far away as we could so that my dogs wouldn't start barking. On Sundays Buddy's Bar offers a potluck meal at 2pm. Dishes are prepared by locals and you pay with donations. Ham, red beans and rice, BBQ chicken wings, corn bread, various salads and desserts were available for several hours.A local band called the Quail Ridge Pickers provided the music. This is a full-service bar. There are five beers on draft here: Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Coors Lite, Dos Equis, all for $3. There are more craft beers in bottles for $3.75The interior is dark, but this is a popular local watering hole. The customers are regulars. A Christmas tree stood in one corner, ablaze in colorful lights. My one complaint? Whenever I went up to the bar for refills, I got my beer in a plastic cup. When my friend did the same, he came back with glass pints, The glass pints hold at least two extra ounces of beer."

It also has a couple of other popular dishes like cream cheese wontons and Pad Thai-Indian food. I order this the least, but I adore their scrumptious samosas-A by-the-slice pizzeria that takes like 20 minutes because they literally roll out your dough and bake it fresh when you order (it is better than at least two other late-night slices in the area)-Some of the best Mexican food you'll find in AZ, complete with its signature bacon-wrapped burritos (You should split this with a friend, they are HEARTY)-There's also a bar. Draft and can selection is great, so stick with beer/cider/seltzer There's even a coffee bar if you make it here early enough!-Sometimes, there are DJs on Saturday nights or when weather permits, during brunch. Only improvements I could ask for are some more clearly defined hours for establishments, as it's rare to see all 4 open at the same time. I also wish the cocktails didn't suck, but if you came to 4th ave to drink you have a million other bars anyway. This is *the* spot for when your party can't decide on what to eat."
