Kirk A. "The surprise wheel chose this place for us. Nice little breakfast, brunch, lunch and bakery place. Noticed lots of baked goods being picked up while eating breakfast. They have a nice outside seating area, but it was wet and chilly the day we were there. I had the huevos rancheros. It was delicious. My wife chose the chorizo, potatoes and eggs. She enjoyed them as well. I was surprised at her choice. She rarely has that meal. Nothing was left of either meal. Small area inside. You order at the register and your food is delivered to you. If I find myself in this part of town for breakfast, I'd surely try it again. Oh, and they have some good smelling coffees. I did not try any as I had my share of caffeine already."

Derek N. "El Sol is a vibrant gem that transports you straight to the heart of Mexico. The beautiful murals outside and authentic Latin paintings inside create a welcoming and lively atmosphere. The Saltillo tile flooring and bakery vibes make you feel like you've stepped off the street and into a charming Mexican bakery. When it comes to food, El Sol truly shines. The chips are made from scratch and are nothing short of amazing, perfectly complemented by salsa that might just be the best in Arizona. The carne asada here is a bit unique compared to other places but is absolutely perfecto. It's no wonder I find myself eating here two or three times a week. The option to order a burrito in a bowl without the tortilla and add an egg for a protein boost is a thoughtful touch that caters to various dietary preferences. The service at El Sol is as warm and inviting as the food. Being family-run, the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff make you feel like you're dining at a friend's house. They ensure you're well taken care of and add to the overall wonderful experience.El Sol is a delightful escape with its beautiful ambiance, exceptional food, and welcoming service. For its authenticity, flavor, and heartfelt hospitality, I'd give it a glowing 5 stars. It's a place you'll want to return to again and again."

Pa Houa Y. "With seeing their instagram photos and people's reviews on this place, I've been wanting to go so bad but I just hate driving in tucson, especially downtown. But my sister was here and so I finally took her and we came here. I ordered their breakfast sandwich, it was pretty good. And i ordered their special Chocolate covered strawberry latte. To my surprise, it wasnt that bad. It was a lot better than dutch bros same name latte and prettier, lolz my sister got their passion fruit ade cause they didnt have the dubai chocolate latte. I also ordered their chocolate croissant and to my disappointment, it wasnt as good as i had hope. I was hoping it was more light and airy but it was a lot bread. so that deducts the 1 star. I want to go get their strawberry one tho and try that. I just hate downtown parking. I also want to try their korean fried chicken."

Caitlin S. "Mona's baked goods are delicious and I'm so happy we have a bakery that makes Kringle, but the recent issues on my last visit were really problematic. We've ordered pastries and baked goods from Mona's for Christmas breakfast for years without issue, but this year when we arrived to pick up our order that had been placed more than a week before, we were told they didn't have any individual quiches. No apology and no explanation as to how this happened or why we weren't contacted so we could order something else. Instead, the woman who helped us was abrupt and unfriendly. I get that it's a busy time of year, but this left is scrambling on Christmas Eve to find an alternate breakfast item for one of our family members. (La Baguette for the win.)I've never had an issue with my order in the past, but I don't think I'll risk another situation like this in the future."

Sydney’s Sweet Shoppe

Lauren S. "Sydney's pies were the best choice for our wedding desert! We decided to go with pie for our wedding instead of cake, and we are so glad we did! The process began with a private pie tasting, which was delicious and surprising, we ended up picking some flavors we weren't expecting. We chose a selection of 150 mini "party pies" in six flavors, and one full size pie to use for a "cake cutting" moment. Sydney's pies were delicious and the talk of the night and next day. We had hardly any pies leftover as people went for seconds and took some home as well. She even had options for our gluten-free and dairy-free guests. Everyone left happy, and especially us! You can tell that these treats are made carefully and with a lot of love. We would recommend Sydney's Sweet Shoppe for all your pie needs, especially if you're looking for a unique wedding dessert!"

Susan R. "Out and about! You'll be surprised what you find just around the corner! Here at Park Place Mall, looking for something special to satiety those taste buds. As I stand here the twins dance around, passing times in duo, seems like a ghost town here. A movie theater stands here all alone. Remember the ghosts of the past, walk around the corner to the left and let's jump into the future. The name screams come on in. Who's up for boba and soft serve! Here's to the businesses of today. Those busy businesses that we reward with our patronage, it's local and supports the community. It's all smiles!! Happy happy employees smile and smile again. I love to see the joy of happy employees, especially those that work for a small and local establishment. The ordering process was a breeze too. The advertisement as one walks in the lobby of the store front is what drew our attention. The menu board is clear and easy to read. It's a typical boba place, but with special twists that come in sweet heavenly flavors. The soft serve flavors include green tea, vanilla, twists of these two together, and chocolate in a special fish flavored cone. Mmmm, can you taste it? Ice cream screaming dreams in a fish shaped cone. Yes, it's a Japanese flavor that's available to all of you made just for you; by the staff of Oh My Buns! The name of this Japanese treat, Taiyaki. The fish shaped cone is baked fresh, it's filled with the flavor of ice cream you choose. We're not done yet, fresh strawberries, sprinkles, pokey sticks, fresh ground graham crackers, or red bean paste can be added as toppings. Mix and match whatever you want. A small up charge is added for extra toppings. The ice cream is organic with no additional additives. Yes, this treat is healthy! Remember to wear your mask! The staff here practice social distancing with barriers behind the counter to separate the register crew member the ice cream specialist. The counter is enclosed entirely in plexiglass to keep the employees and customers separate. As we order speak loud so that the crew members can hear you. The store front was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The best form of payment is cashless and touch less. They expect Apple and Samsung pay too. Debit and credit is still available, but for optional reasoning make sure and wave your credit card for instant transfer without swiping the card. A recommended change they should add is the ability to accept tips with the electronic payment methods. The twins so happy, how hard it is to find green tea ice cream. Let alone green tea ice that's delicious; with no after taste. If your a fan of green tea cream, your next taste should be here. The team behind the counter will work tirelessly to make sure your treat tickles your heart and soul. We found happiness just around the corner. Imagine what you will find when you visit. Make local businesses possible and shop local. The treats we had today kept us going all day long. No drag down after enjoying the cone and ice cream together. Lift your spirits with green tea twists. Perhaps your fun is in boba. Get your fun on here with oh my buns!!"

Cici S. "I lived in France for a year and am an absolute Francophile, so I was delighted to find this bakery next to Ghini's Cafe (which is mediocre at best) that offers surprisingly authentic French pastries! Everything that we have tried so far have been delicious. I especially like their eclairs and my husband really likes the Swedish princess cake. Their pastries really do take me back to France (especially during this pandemic where I can't go back just yet), so I'll happily patronize the bakery section than sit at Ghini's and endure what they dare call French cuisine. Quelle blague!"

Alex W. "I have worked in the Gold Canyon area for years, and finding good food has been difficult. Bomb Bru didn't grab my attention when it first opened since it is a coffee place and I don't drink coffee. Out for an errand though, I stopped in and grabbed the "tripwire" - their version of a turkey, bacon, avocado on a croissant - and I was blown away. It was delicious, made fresh and only cost about $8. A total steal and my new regular lunch spot when I am in the area. I am excited to try out the breakfast sandwiches in the future as well. The young woman who works there is extremely kind and helpful, and makes the sandwiches as well. Help support this small business :)"

Like a lot of people I had no idea what a Pastizzi was when I saddled up to the Malta Joe's food truck. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I had a Southwest Pastizzi. Filo dough wraps around a filling of bacon, hatch chilies and ricotta cheese for a full on flavor explosion. I also sampled the split pea and curry and it was also just a perfect balance of savory filling to crispy and delicious filo dough. I was so impressed that I looked them up and am happy to say you can purchase these at their store to bake at home!"
