Buena Vista Recovery saved my life about 3 years ago. I then brought recovery meetings in for two years at the Cave Creek location. I moved to Tucson and I am bringing a meeting to this location. One thing I can say is if you're struggling with addiction this is a great place to get some sobriety in and hear a message of hope from other recovering addicts and alcoholics

The program of recovery is excellent. Topping it off is an awesome staff and great facilities. The staff are like family and very attentive. I would recommend to anyone needing support in recovery. Larry E

My experience with Buena Vista overall was wonderful. I was in detox for 5 days, and then stayed for the 30 day residential program. Most of the BHTs are kind and caring, the group facilitators are fantastic, the client advocate is a real gem, and my therapist was great. The food was good, the rooms are lovely, and most of the classes were helpful to me and my recovery; Specifically process groups and the evening AA/NA meetings. While there are some areas in which the program needs improvement, I feel that my stay was a crucial part of my recovery and I would recommend the program to anyone who is serious about beating addiction and living a sober fulfilling life. Thank you BV for giving me a safe space to heal and reflect when I needed it most!

My girlfriend was discharged from this facility for absolutely no reason. She was accused of talking to the bhts saying do yell mothering job but right before her therapists put her on a behavior contract with more alleged comments that was never brought to her attention nor there was no mediation before hand with staff to get the misunderstanding cleared because staff wouldn't let her know who said it. My girlfriend had two weeks left before she graduated her program then all of a sudden secretly write up that she claims wasnt true but wasn't severe enough to kick her out of the program especially if she is going through a mental transformation to reprogram the urges to use . It broke her down and trigger and interrupted her hard work with no support or understanding as she cried and felt discriminated and let down by this facility. What can she do to get justice and have this facility take accountability for unexplained and unmet reasons to get negative discharge

We are seriously considering legal action for the level of false advertising you see here. The photos that are advertised are NOT the photos of the falsity. It was so filthy with stating on every inch of carpet. The walls are dirty, the rooms look nothing like what is in the photos. If you would have photographed the photos of the detox center bedrooms and then photographed a prison you might not be able to tell the difference. The "patients" are basically treated like inmates not should who had done nothing wrong and who were searching for help. I would never ever recommend speaking this type of facility if they are looking for healing. Health and human services has been notified of the condition.

Don't say you weren't warned. If you are employed, don't use their services. I have an employee who is going to lose his job because the doctors here won't sign a return to work form. I have been working for 54 years and never heard of doctor refusing to do this. It's the most routine thing a doctor does. Of course, this is putting a lot of stress on my employee. I would think a detox and rehab facility would understand this. If he relapses, I'm going to encourage him to sue these morons.

Buena Vista has a nice campus, but the BHT's act like they have something to prove and the case managers are quite terrible. John felt that cursing and hanging up on residents who call asking for a referral because the "Sober living" place they referred me to initially was anything but sober was professional. And the other case manager, I forgot her name, but the heavy set blonde lady will lie to you and tell you she is calling your family (because apparently they don't think calling your family while under their detox care is frowned upon) but she won't. I don't recommend this place.

I am so grateful to the Dr's and Staff at Buena Vista! Our son has been lost to our family for 12 years. After going through treatment at Buena Vista he just received his 60 day chip! Just some pointers after reading some other reviews. -The Staff and or Drs will not talk to anyone if the patient did not put you on the approved list of people that may discuss anything regarding the patient. -If the patient isn't ready to get sober, completely surrender to the addiction, work the program, go to meetings, really ready to work harder than they ever have, trust in their support.......then they aren't ready. Buena Vista set up the foundation for our son to rebuild himself. They gave him the opportunity and support he needed. He was ready and worked it. He is working hard every day for his sobriety. He is continuing his rehabilitation by attending IOP 5 days a week. Thanks to everyone at Buena Vista our sons little girl has the Daddy she deserves. We are grateful and will always recommend Buena Vista.

I'm a chronic alcoholic and IV drug user. I admitted into Buena Vista early in the morning after having been awake for more than 5 days totally exhausted and eating sanctuary. I fell asleep and slept so hard that when unable to wake me up at first they assume that I had overdosed and administered narcan to me and called the paramedics. I missed all the confusion nobody would listen to me when I told him that I had taken nothing and done nothing. The next time I regain consciousness doctors were administering a catheter into me to get a urine sample. Please keep in mind that I was so exhausted that I could hardly stay awake and thought that I was in a safe place finally and can get actual rest. I then gave the doctors a urine sample which proved 100% that I had not taken any opiates and had not overdosed. Understandably the hospital immediately discharged me because there's no reason I should be there and sent me back to the treatment center. I assumed I would be readmitted after that haven't been told that I was discharged because there was a big mistake. That was not the case. They told me that I had to leave the property and could not read for another 10 days simply because they had made a mistake by administering narcan to me. I was made to leave the property at sunrise in the cold and on the streets. The trust that I placed in these people was violated and left me feeling even more hopeless than before I came in. This policy is going to kill somebody one day. I needed help and was denied through no fault of my own. I'm an addict and an alcoholic. I just wanted to be somewhere safe.
