The service was absolutely phenomenal. I've only been once and def enjoyed our visit. Esp having small kids the patio was perfect. We apparently came at just the right time since the jazz band had just ended and everyone leaves right after. We ordered the family casual combo with brisket, chicken, pulled pork, 2 sides and biscuits. We added on an additional side(collard greens). As far as the sides the elote was top notch and def should never ever be skipped or slept on. The Mac and cheese my son loved which is rare because my kids are so picky so that's win for us. Collard greens are huge skip. Very very bland. Lacks flavor. Should have went with the waiters suggestion about the green beans. Maybe next time we go to Tucson we will give the green beans a go a long with some ribs. Def a great spot to check out. We also couldn't believe the tap list as well and all the tea options. The prickly pear was great!

I've eaten here a few times. The food is consistently prepared and consistently good. The wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable about their menu. It can be a little noisy, but after all, it's booze and BBQ, so it's not where you'd go for a quiet, intimate meal. I do not eat mac & cheese, but everyone with whom I've dined with who has had it raves about it. Note that the seats are not the most comfortable, so unless you are well distracted by the company you keep, you might find yourself squirming a bit to stay comfortable.

Came for a work holiday lunch. The table was ready when we arrived which i appreciated a lot! Our waitress was nice for our party but the service was so slow. Express lunch was not express and I'm confused about why the express lunch isn't advertised on the menu. The music was very loud and we had to ask for them to turn it down. The overall price for the quantity of food was not it but the food was pretty good. I got express lunch with pulled pork, the sweet potato and green beans. They have a 4 piece BBQ sauce assortment to click from on the table too!

Yeah, it was good, but not outstanding. The restaurant has a good vibe, roomy and nice lighting. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. The food was good, like I said. Baby back ribs were OK, not great. The mac 'n cheese was pretty good as was the smoked brisket elote. As my guide states, you will want to try it to see if it is your cup of tea.5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money.4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business.3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it.2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money.1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Appreciated Brother John's Beer, but wasn't a 5-star as far as BBQ food goes. Recommend: Sure, consider sitting inside though, the patio is overrun with flies, no fans and no other flying insect zappers or deterrents.Inside was spacious, well decorated and dark. Zero 'welcoming-in' interaction from the Host, but the Waitress made up for that with her warm-hearted introduction. Food was quick to arrive, so that's a plus. Ate outside; really don't recommend that because the restaurants had zero insect repellent fans, or attractants to dissuade them - from eating your meals with you...Food was mediocre, and sadly, just that. Nothing was impressive for a flavorful-punch and certainly nothing that was unappealing; just wasn't moist, tasty nor mouthwatering as 'BBQ' should be. I would consider coming back, but in Tucson, the number of BBQ restaurants are plenty, most don't do a really great job and so, one day, we'll return to see if it was just an off day. Nice place, and just that. You decide.

We met some work friends here for supper. Our first experience here wasn't spectacular, so I was a bit skeptical. This time around our server was more attentive, our food and drinks came quicker, and the food was more flavorful. I got a shrimp salad and my husband again ordered the fried chicken dinner. It might be fun to go when they have live music.

Another review coming at ya! To note: I'm 30 weeks pregnant and went with my husband. Todays lunch was over at Brother John's Beer, Bourbon & BBQAtmosphere was pleasant walking in. Only 2 families were there. Background music was great so it wasn't dead silent. We got seated right away, Jessica was our waitress and was very nice and pleasant and welcoming. Total for meal without tip was $52.Now on to the food:Burnt end nachos: not much meat for how many chips you get at all, way too many jalapeños (personal preference). Pulled pork sandwich (no slaw): little dry, there sauces on table was a variety to choose from but a house bbq sauce on the burger itself would've been nice. House made buiscits: Kinda dry not really fluffy, butter had a weird smell to it. Strawberry Daquiri: Perfect! Strawberry lemonade: on the sweeter side rather than "lemony" but pretty good. Fries: soft but crunchy on the outside which was yummy. Ranch sauce: if I didn't know I was getting ranch I wouldn't have guessed it was ranch, not "ranchy" at all. Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Finding good BBQ in Tucson can be a challenge. The brisket, which they're known for, was just okay for us--it didn't melt in our mouths as expected. The venue is great for watching sports, especially with larger parties. During our visit, University of Arizona basketball was on, but it seemed like the place was understaffed. The baby back ribs weren't served warm and didn't have much flavor. Perhaps it was just an off day for the kitchen. Our server was very friendly and did her best to recommend dishes to us.

I had food delivered so I cannot speak on the restaurant and the ambiance of the place. As far as the quality of the food this place really stinks. The deviled eggs were so salty they were not edible. I ate two and had to throw out the rest. The greens were absolutely tasteless and quite frankly eating the plant raw would probably have more flavor. The baked beans were just.....meh and the pulled pork was dried out and flavorless. For the record, I travel around the world and try out BBQ in various cities. This has to be the worst I've had in quite some time. I am sorry, but if you are looking for great BBQ this is ABSOLUTELY the nastiest I've had in quite some time. Go elsewhere and save your money. In the trash it goes....

Food was good except, we asked for lean brisket and received fatty brisket. The service was extremely slow. Ambiance pretty cool.
