Jake's class is pretty amazing. It's relaxed, insightful, and motivating. He genuinely has a wealth of knowledge in a wide range of styles. I'm really impressed by his broad versatility, but also how he helps you narrow your focus to what you want. You can totally see how passionate he is about art, and he's eager to share everything he knows to help you get to where you want to be creatively.I was pretty blown away when I learned that he's published his own extensive teaching material. The way he breaks things down to their simplest elements makes it super easy to understand and follow his class. If you're looking for an art class, I can't recommend his enough.

Jake helped me recently with a custom painting. He took me through all the steps, and he didn't miss a beat. Instead of just slapping paint on the canvas, we went through the process with traditional techniques (research and development, sketching drafts, transferring the enlarged sketch onto the canvas, more research and development for color schemes, perspective, lighting, composition, and we even pulled off fish eye lens camera angle). Jake is not just a dime-a-dozen art teacher. He is thorough and professional receiving an A+++ in my opinion.

Jake, the founder of the school, is beyond talented in many forms of art. I did not actually attend the school, however I had the opportunity to work with Jake on a professional level where I hired him to design the artistic concept and layout of a night club/restaurant in the making. Throughout our meetings, he has shown me his impressive work using diffrent styles of art, from technical illustrations, concepts, and floor plans, to fully-realized architectural renderings, of which I was blown away, because it was hard to believe someone could be so well versed in so many different methods of art. Our project would not have been able to get off the ground as rapidly and with adequate foundation without his contribution. The speed at which he works, his obvious passion, skill, and ability to take task list of complex ideas and tern them into life-like/realistic images makes him an asset to any project he is involved with. Along the way, he taught me some of his secrets behind his techniques, which makes me respect his craft and value that much more, and I'm glad I can appreciate art more so now.

The curriculum is intense. Everything that has to do with telling a story when drawing, he teaches- and very clearly I might add. I have a library of books on drawing and not one of them comes close to as good as the in - class ones Jake has written and provides. 5 stars all the way!!

Bravissimo is a great art school. Jake, the founder, is very patient and genuinely cares about his student's progress and goals. He's developed his own art instruction books which he uses to supplement the classes. I would recommend Bravissimo for beginner and experienced artists alike.
